The Mystics will also receive the Sky's 2027 second-round pick, and a first-round pick swap with the Sky in 2027 as part of the deal.
Atkins has spent her entire career with the Mystics, who selected her with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 draft out of Texas. She averaged 14.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game last season.
The Mystics will now have the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 overall picks in the draft in April.

Astros' Carlos Correa Has Jose Altuve Message During Return to Houston

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Monday night brought Houston Astros fans a lot of reasons to celebrate. The game comes first, and the Astros squeaked out a 7-6 win over the Boston Red Sox despite a late rally. But the Astros and their fans were also celebrating two noteworthy returns. Third baseman Alex Bregman was returning as a member of the Red Sox, and he homered in his first at-bat. But the Astros' new third baseman Carlos Correa, is back in Houston for good, and he finally got to play his first home game since being traded on July 31. (Photo by) More Mistry/Getty For Correa, coming back to Houston isn't just about playing in front of those fans, however. It's about joining forces one teammate in particular. "The best part about being back with the Astros is being able to play with Jose Altuve again," Correa said, per Chandler Rome of The Athletic. Altuve and Correa were teammates from the time Correa debuted in 2015 until he left for the Minnesota Twins in free agency. They won a World Series together in 2015, and racked up a combined seven All-Star appearances during that stretch. Correa played a nice supporting role in the win, hitting an RBI single and coming around to score in the third inning against Boston ace Garrett Crochet. Altuve went 1-for-4 as well. The dynamic duo no longer will share the middle of the infield, as Correa has moved from shortstop to third to accommodate rising star Jeremy Peña. But the reunion is still awfully sweet for two of the game's very best. More MLB: Legendary Yankees Broadcaster Has Devin Williams Warning For Aaron Boone

Analyzing Mariners' Post-Trade Deadline Success

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Seattle Mariners may already be the winners of this season's MLB trade deadline. Seattle entered the All-Star break just six games over .500 but has since been one of the best teams in baseball. The Mariners have been especially good since July 31, the day of the MLB trade deadline. SEATTLE, WASHINGTON - AUGUST 10: Eugenio Suárez #28, Mitch Garver #18, Jorge Polanco #7 and Matt Brash #47 of the Seattle Mariners dance with teammates after the game against the Tampa Bay Rays at T-Mobile... SEATTLE, WASHINGTON - AUGUST 10: Eugenio Suárez #28, Mitch Garver #18, Jorge Polanco #7 and Matt Brash #47 of the Seattle Mariners dance with teammates after the game against the Tampa Bay Rays at T-Mobile Park on August 10, 2025 in Seattle, Washington. The Seattle Mariners won 6-3. MoreThey entered Tuesday 9-1 since the deadline passed, 7-0 in their last seven games and just one game behind the Houston Astros for first place in the American League West. The success has come on the heels of general manager Jerry Dipoto being ultra-aggressive at the MLB trade deadline. He acquired both first baseman Josh Naylor and third baseman Eugenio Suarez from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Suarez was the bigger acquisition of the two, but it has been Naylor that has produced at an extremely high level since being acquired. So far this month, Naylor boasts a slash line of .346/.433/.808, good for a 1.241 OPS. Josh Naylor is the first player in @MLB HISTORY with 4+ home runs and 10+ stolen bases in his first 15 games with a franchise. Naylor has 4 HR and 11 SB in his first 15 games with Seattle. — Mariners PR (@MarinersPR) August 10, 2025 Suarez, on the other hand, has not quite been as advertised in his second stint with Seattle. The slash line for Suarez in August sits at .088/.135/.176, totaling just a .312 OPS. He came to Seattle with 36 home runs on the season but has homered just one time since being traded from the Diamondbacks. Eugenio Suarez since the Trade Deadline: 1 HR 10 RBI .105 AVG .357 OPS -2 wRC+ In 10 games. — StatMuse (@statmuse) August 11, 2025 The lack of success from Suarez has been picked up by MLB's home run leader, Cal Raleigh. Raleigh has been a catalyst of the Mariners' success all season but has picked it up again over the last four days. He has homered in each of the last three games to increase his league-leading total to 45 home runs on the season. Superstar centerfielder Julio Rodriguez has also picked up his play of late with 12 home runs and a 1.011 OPS in the last month. Julio Rodríguez in the last month: 1.011 OPS, 12 HR, 21 RBI, 7 SB, .296 AVG (32x108) & 1.8 fWAR in 26 games, with the @Mariners going 18-8 in those contests.@JRODshow44's 12 home runs since July 11 LEAD the American League and rank T-1st in @MLB during that span. — Mariners PR (@MarinersPR) August 11, 2025 With one of the best lineups and a pitching staff boasting the sixth-best ERA in baseball, Seattle has a chance to make quite a bit of noise in the postseason. Kansas City Chiefs TE Jared Wiley reflects on his injury recovery process

During Monday's training camp press conference, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Jared Wiley reflected on his mindset in rehab for his injury last season. "Just happy to be back. Honestly, it's tough to go through, definitely a humbling experience, but you know, to be able to be back out here and play the game that I love. It's been great." said Wiley "I mean, just knowing that, any snap could be your last for that season, or however long you'll be out, you know, just when you're feeling pretty good last year, you almost feel like you kind of made it a little bit, and something like that happens, it kind of dials you back a little bit." The 24-year-old recorded one reception for seven yards last season, spending most of his time on special teams for Kansas City. He would reveal his mindset while unable to play last year after the injury. I mean figuring out really kind of who I was outside of football, to be honest with you, like I said earlier, just having something like that stripped away from you, and then kind of having to find a way to, still stay involved as much as you can." said Wiley, "You really feel like you're missing out, again, to watch these guys play on Sundays and sit at the house just kind of feet kick back. That sucked" Wiley earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in 2023 for TCU. He had 47 receptions for 520 yards and eight touchdowns. He was expected to have a significant role as a rotational tight end in Kansas City's offense before suffering a torn ACL that prematurely ended his rookie season.
