, who is receiving a lot of positive response for his recently released streaming movie 'Tehran', has spoken up on the heavy tariffs levied by US President Donald Trump on India, and how they can be countered.
The actor, who has a keen interest in geo-politics, has shared that if India wants to soften the blow of the tariffs, then the nation needs to look at the alternative markets for its exports.
Talking about how the makers mounted 'Tehran' he said, "Of course, we entered this space with our eyes wide open. I was very confident about what I was getting into. I knew I would face hurdles with the censor board and everyone concerned, but I wanted a voice and to make the film I wanted to make.
It was an informed decision, and that's why Tehran happened. We wanted to break down the complexities of Middle Eastern geopolitics for our audiences and explain that what happens in the Middle East has an impact on India or, for that matter, whatever happens in the world has an impact on India".
Talking about the tariffs, he said, "Even today, with Trump and his tariffs, a lot of us don't care about 25% or 50%, but yes, they are going to have a massive impact on India.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict is also nearing its end with a peace deal brokered by Donald Trump.

1 2 Nagpur: A 270-year-old Ganpati tradition rooted in the region's cultural soul is all set to step onto Maharashtra's grand festive stage. The historic Hadpakya Ganpati of Nagpur, celebrated since the Bhonsle-era, will soon be officially included in the state's Ganeshotsav celebrations. Confirming this to TOI, cultural affairs minister Ashish Shelar said that the festival, which is unique to Nagpur and Vidarbha, will now be recognised as a part of the Maharashtra Rajyotsav during Ganeshotsav. During a conversation with Mudhoji Raje Bhonsle on the sidelines of the unveiling of the sword of Raghuji Bhonsle I, founder of Nagpur's Bhonsle dynasty, in Mumbai recently, Shelar learned about the centuries-old Ganpati festival and its deep connection with Vidarbha's identity. The Maharashtra govt recently brought the sword back to India. It is on display at PL Deshpande Kala Academy, Prabhadevi. The Hadpakya Ganpati, also known as Maskarya Ganpati, was initiated by Khandoji Maharaj Bhonsle, also known as Chimanabapu, in 1755 AD. As per historical accounts, the king returned victorious from a battle in Bengal, but by that time, the traditional Ganesh Utsav had just culminated. So, to celebrate his victory and the festival, the king organised a grand festival and installed a unique Ganesha idol having 18 hands, which came to be known as the 'Hadpakya Ganpati'. The term 'Hadpakya' refers to a type of mask or disguise worn during the festival. Over time, the tradition of celebrating 11-day Hadpakya Ganpati gained popularity and became an integral part of Nagpur's cultural heritage.
