As of April 25, Ransom Canyon has racked up 56 million watch hours, according to Netflix Tudum. Meanwhile, the show's creator, April Blair, has revealed to Deadline that the writer's room is already buzzing with preparations for a second season.
With the show's success comes a new focus on its lead actors, and in particular Minka Kelly after she pushed for pay equity with Duhamel. She negotiated with Netflix to be paid the same as her male co-star, per Deadline, but in the end both parties decided on a significant raise for her instead.

'I think that's probably one of the best things about working with Netflix, is that they're very pro that. So I didn't have to fight very hard. They sort of made that easy,' Kelly told the outlet during an interview.
Kelly's electric on-screen chemistry with the Transformers actor is also raising curiosity about her real-life romances – so what do we know about the 44-year-old's IRL dating history?

It is also about fathers blinded by their love for their sons. But most of all it's a show about men beating the living hell out of each other. The man who does most of that beating is the hulking Nam Gi-hun, played by broad-shouldered bruiser So Ji-sub ( Doctor Lawyer ). Gi-hun used to be a top lieutenant in the Bongsan Gang, led by Gu Bong-san (Ahn Kil-kang, A Shop for Killers ), which is closely affiliated with the Joowon Gang, led by Lee Joo-woon (Heo Joon-ho, Buried Hearts ).

Film buff Stephen King on The Life of Chuck adaptation, and the one movie he walked out of
Stephen King 's first editor, Bill Thompson, once said: 'Steve has a movie camera in his head.' So vividly drawn is King's fiction that it has offered the basis for some 50 feature films. For half a century, since Brian De Palma's 1976 film Carrie, Hollywood has turned, and turned again, to King's books for their richness of character, nightmare and sheer entertainment. Open any of those books up at random, and there's a decent chance you'll encounter a movie reference, too. Rita Hayworth. The Wizard of Oz. Singin' in the Rain. Sometimes even movies based on King's books turn up in his novels. Play 'I love anything from The 400 Blows to something with that guy Jason Statham,' King says, speaking by phone from his home in the US state of Maine. 'The worst movie I ever saw was still a great way to spend an afternoon.' 'The only movie I ever walked out on was Transformers. At a certain point I said, 'This is just ridiculous.''

Deadlier games, shocking twists in new Squid Game season 3 trailer released by Netflix
Netflix has released its official teaser trailer for season 3 of its global hit series Squid Game, intensifying fan anticipation ahead of its June 27 premiere. Advertisement The upcoming season continues the story of Gi-hun ( Lee Jung-jae ), who re-enters the deadly competition with a personal motive but ends up losing his closest friend. The narrative also follows the enigmatic Front Man ( Lee Byung-hun ), who infiltrated the game in disguise, and the final fates of the remaining players who have endured the gruesome contest. The trailer, released to coincide with a Netflix fan event in Los Angeles at the weekend , opens with an eerie rendition of a familiar Korean children's song, 'Knock Knock, Who's There? It's a Kid', setting a sinister tone. It then cuts to the terrifying sight of Young-hee, the iconic giant animatronic doll, now joined by a towering new version clad in floral tights, as frightened contestants brace for the next challenge. The unsettling transformation of childlike elements into tools of horror remains a signature of the franchise . Gi-hun's anguished outburst – 'Why didn't you just kill me? Why was I the only one spared?' – reveals the survivor's guilt he harbours after returning alone from a failed rebellion that claimed the life of his friend Deok-su (Lee Seo-hwan). Advertisement
