Journalists Enact Squid Game Scene To Highlight Bengaluru's Hazardous Footpaths
The individuals were seen running on a damaged footpath while wearing costumes like those worn by the contestants participating in Squid Game.
Bengaluru's potholes and traffic woes have frequently made headlines. For the residents, the situation seems to remain the same despite repeated complaints. In a bid to highlight the hazardous potholes in the city, some Bengaluru residents and journalists staged a unique protest, inspired by Netflix's popular South Korean series, Squid Game.
In a video circulating on X, the individuals were seen running on a damaged footpath while wearing costumes like those worn by the contestants participating in Squid Game. The show revolved around a group of cash-strapped people competing in a series of challenges inspired by children's games, which soon got dangerous.
The clip was shot near St John's Hospital with the aim to highlight the hazardous conditions pedestrians face in one of the city's busiest areas. In the video, one of the residents slips and almost falls into a pothole. The caption read, 'It's Skid game for Namma Bengaluru Journalists."
One account wrote, 'Bangalore is the worst city to live in. We need a lot of work to be done to make it world class." A comment read, 'Bravo Bengaluru's footpaths are a mess and the roads are full of potholes — the situation is terrible. Respect to all the volunteers who took this different approach to highlight the issues to BBMP. Hopefully, BBMP takes action and fixes them now."
In a similar incident earlier, residents in the Jayanagar area of Bengaluru expressed their disappointment in a unique way. To protest against the hazardous road conditions, they performed puja to a particularly troublesome pothole on Varamahalakshmi Vratham day. In the video, a woman and a man are seen performing a ritual at the edge of a large, water-filled pothole. It shows that they are offering flower petals, turmeric powder and kumkum to the pothole.

TMKOC: Gogi Recalls Jethalal Praising Him After Popular ‘Sayanist' Episode
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah marks 17 years. Samay Shah recalls Dilip Joshi's praise for his performance in the 'Sayanist' episode. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the beloved comedy show, has completed its 17 years. Premiered on July 28, 2008, the show became a sensation due to its relatable characters, humorous storylines, and focus on social issues within a residential society. Over the years, it has delivered some of the most memorable episodes. Among all was the one where Jethalal aka Dilip Joshi, told Gogi (played by Samay Shah) why 'Science is called Science' and how he helped Iyer Bhai (Tanuj Mahasabde) become a 'Sayanist.' Samay Shah Recalls Working With Dilip Joshi On 'Sayanist' Episode: Recently, during a press conference, Samay recalled his memorable moment from the initial days of TMKOC and how Dilip praised him for his performance in the 'Sayanist' episode. He said, 'Mujhe ek kissa yaad hai aur wo mere life mein bohot impactful raha hai. Jab hum famous 'Sayanist' episode shoot kar rhe the aur meri performance dekh ke Dilip sir ne merko bohot appreciate kiya aur uske baad poori team ne taali maari. To wo chiz mere dimag mein baith gyi. Sir ke words mere liye bohot important hai. (I remember one incident, and it has been very impactful in my life. When we were shooting the famous 'Sayanist' episode and Dilip Sir appreciated my performance and after that, the whole team applauded me. So that thing got etched in my mind. Sir's words are very important for me)." Dilip Joshi's Hilarious 'Sayanist' Dialogue: When Gogi asked Jethalal, 'Science ko Science kyu kehte hai (Why is science called science)?" To this, he replied, 'Jab saare subjects ka naam rakha jaa rha tha, tabhi Science ko History ka naam dene waale the. Par problem kya hui ki History ka number pehle aa gaya, line mein aage khada tha na. Lekin fir jab science ki baari aayi, to aur koi naam bacha nahi tha, bas ek naam bacha tha 'Science'. To abhi usko bhi history ka naam to de nahi sakte h, kyunki ek hi naam ke 2 subject gadbad ho jaati. Phir sabne baithak baithaai aur dhyaan lagake socha kya krein fir unhone kaha ki history ko final kardia hai, science ko bhi bola ki bhai maan jaa naa, ek hi bacha hai settlement karte hain. To aise science ko science ka naam mila."
