I know — I annoy myself, too.
There are all sorts of random things on said list: drinking my first coffee of the day, getting into clean sheets at night, sniffing my dog's paws (they smell like CCs!), feeling a breeze on my face through an open window, watching funny Instagram memes with my kid — all are instant dopamine hits.
Over the years, various TV series have snuck their way on. And if I need a lift, I'll regularly rewatch old episodes of Escape To The Chateau, Schitt's Creek or Ted Lasso. If I REALLY want to feel all the happy feels, I'll pop on Bluey's Sleepytime episode and cry great, big cathartic tears into my cat's fur — highly recommend.
I can't help wondering if Owen Wilson's new feel-good golf comedy, Stick, might be about to join my happy list, and, indeed, become a whole generation of sports-comedy-loving viewers' serotonin hit of choice.
It tells the story of an over-the-hill golf pro called Pryce Cahill (Wilson), who discovers a 17-year-old golf prodigy named Santi (Peter Dager) and decides to mentor him on the competition circuit. It's got all the ingredients for an instant TV hit, and there are some incredible performances from the cast, which includes Marc Maron, Judy Greer, Mariana Trevino and Lilli Kay. And sure, it's about golf — not exactly my sport of choice — but, like soccer was to Ted Lasso, that's really just the kick-off point to tell some heartfelt stories about hope, resilience and the importance of picking yourself up.

Looking for your next favourite under-the-radar Netflix show? This is it! Regular SBS watchers might have already caught this great British series, about a group of mates living in the 'grim North' of England. But Netflix is giving this fabulous black comedy a new life, streaming seasons one to five. It's already crept into their top 10 list this week, which brings me joy — I love that new fans are discovering how great This Is England's Joe Gilgun (the show's co-creator) and Bergerac's Damien Molony are as the two mismatched besties at the heart of the series.
The full cast will be coming together for a special reunion episode at the conclusion of the final two instalments of the season, to be hosted by Kumi Taguchi. Can't wait for the debrief.
If you took a drink every time someone said the word 'Tylenol' in this doco, you'd be absolutely hammered five minutes in. Talk about branding! Though probably not the kind the massive drug company was after. This doco has some genuinely surprising moments, but they weren't enough to sustain my interest past ep one.
This Aussie drama, based on Jane Harper's bestselling novel, stars The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power's Charlie Vickers and Yerin Ha, who'll soon be seen playing the romantic lead in the next instalment of Bridgerton. Talk about a stacked cast! Mark your diaries.

‘Oh Jesus': Savannah Bananas baseballer's live TV backflip goes horribly wrong
A Savannah Banana baseballer has quite literally fallen on his face on live TV. While some people can be dud interviews or stumble over their words, Robert Anthony Cruz, who goes by Coach RAC online and in games for Harlem Globetrotters-style baseball team, tried to kick off his interview with CNN's News Central with a bang. Just not a bang like this. As they cut to him, Cruz went to perform the backflip but got stuck halfway, falling hard on the ground. Anchor Kate Bolduan said: 'Oh Jesus,' before the flip before the set went silent. Cruz himself, who's microphone pack went flying, appeared to say: 'Oh my god, that never happens.' While the camera cut back to the anchors, co-anchor John Berman said: 'That, what you just saw there, is a brand-new twist on America's favourite pastime.' A CNN spokesman confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that they were 'glad he's okay and taking it in such stride'. The Savannah Bananas are an exhibition baseball team that have taken social media by storm with videos of them dancing before pitches, emphasising showmanship, fan participation and fast games. Cruz, 26, who was formerly a prospect for the Washington Nationals, took to Instagram after the fact to share what really happened in the viral moment. After requiring stitches in both his lip and his chin, he posted on his Instagram stories that the world 'has my full permission to laugh'. 'I can't not laugh every time I watch it too — that sound, it's crazy,' he said. He also shared a DM from a young baseballer that said: 'You're still my hero'. In a later video, he explained where it all went wrong. 'They say all press is good press, huh? Well, you've probably seen the video — your boy is bouncing around the internet like a beach ball at a Nickelback concert,' Cruz said. He explained he was asked by producers if he had any tricks up his sleeve and he promised to do a backflip. He's no beginner either, having caught balls doing backflips in games for the Bananas. He said he'd been on very little sleep after running a baseball camp for kids and had only arrived in New York at 2am. 'I have done tens of thousands of backflips in my life — I had zero reason to doubt my abilities,' Cruz said. 'Anyway, I'm standing on the stage, I get the countdown, it's time. I send the flip. Next thing I know, I am on the floor and I'm rattled. I was pretty confused, my mic pack fell out of my pocket, my shoe flew off of my foot. 'I don't even know how that happened.' Cruz said he felt bad for the anchors who were left speechless, and that he wanted to continue the interview … until he noticed the blood. Thinking back he believed it happened because there was a bright board behind him and he was looking for the ground. 'I kinda just lost where I was in the air and wound up under-rotating, plus my feet slipped,' Cruz said. 'Apart from my damaged pride, I didn't sustain any serious injuries.'

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's ‘Meet Me at the Lake' movie still has no director or cast
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's remaining Netflix projects may be on ice as their exclusive multimillion-dollar deal comes to an end. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced back in August 2023 that they were producing a film adaptation of Carley Fortune's hit romance novel, Meet Me at the Lake for the streamer. But Page Six reports Archewell productions has yet to hire a director or come anywhere close to picking a cast. Netflix is believed to have paid out around $US3 million for the rights to the book for the duo to produce, though it's understood little has been done to get the project moving. 'By this point, you would have thought they would have got a director on board and a cast. So what is the delay?' asked a Hollywood source. 'And when you make something for Netflix, it takes a long time for it to actually hit the streamer — there is so much to do in post production, to make sure it's ready for every country. If the deal is up this year, then when is this film going to be made?' The couple were also working on a documentary set in Africa — albeit without Harry, 40, or Markle, 43, appearing. This, too, may be on the back burner. 'What's the betting that neither of these projects will see the light of day?' said a source in the know. It was revealed this week the Sussexes' Netflix deal will end this year, and the couple may move to a first-look contract, like President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle's production company, Higher Ground, has. This week, sources were quick to tell us, however, that there will be more TV shows from the renegade royals. We have reached out to Sussex reps. Netflix has also been working with Markle on her As Ever range which includes her rosé wine, jams, tea and honey. Her show, With Love, Meghan, will return for season 2 in September, so that production partnership doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The Netflix cash has been reported to be $100 million, although it's believed to be closer to $20 million. It was, indeed, a big chunk of the Sussexes' fortune. So far, their biggest Netflix success has been Harry & Meghan, which debuted in December 2022 with 81.55 million hours viewed — making it the highest viewed documentary premiere for the streaming platform. 'Let's be honest … Netflix got what they really wanted out of the Sussexes — their documentary,' said the source in the know. Meanwhile, the docu-series Polo, which was released last December and executive-produced by Harry and Markle, was watched by 500,000 viewers and ranked at 3,436 on the Netflix ratings chart. Last week, the streamer announced that Markle's lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, was at No. 383 in its semi-annual report, 'What We Watched', with a total of 5.3 million views since its March 4 debut. It was even beaten by re-runs of Markle's old show, Suits. Despite this, an insider pointed out that With Love, Meghan was actually in the top 5 per cent of Netflix shows — and had outperformed other leading 'lifestyle' shows such as The Great British Baking Show, two seasons of Chef's Table and Season 9 of Queer Eye. However, the Hollywood insider noted that Netflix likely expected the show to fare better given the amount of promotion put into it.
