Nintendo has revealed the two lead actors for its live-action The Legend of Zelda movie. Bo Bragason is playing the title character, Princess Zelda, while Benjamin Evan Ainsworth is taking on the role of Link, series creator Shigeru Miyamoto announced on X.
The performers are around the right ages for their parts — Bragason was born in 2004 while Ainsworth is 16. These are by far the biggest roles to date for both actors, but they each have plenty of experience in front of cameras.
Bragason has appeared in Disney+ fantasy series Renegade Nell and BBC crime drama The Jetty, as well as the very enjoyable horror movie Censor and Final Fantasy XV. As for Ainsworth, he voiced Pinocchio in Disney's 2022 live-action remake and appeared in Mike Flanagan's Netflix series The Haunting of Bly Manor. Miyamoto said he is "very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen."
Sony Pictures is co-producing the film with Nintendo, while Wes Ball (the Maze Runner series) is directing it. The Legend of Zelda is on track to hit theaters on May 7, 2027.
The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 7, 2027. Thank you for your patience. (2/2)

Stephen Colbert's 'Late Show' is being canceled by CBS, citing 'financial decision'

After more than three decades on air, CBS announced on Thursday that its famed "Late Show" franchise is coming to a close. "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" will officially come to an end in May 2026, according to the network, which said the decision to end the show was a financial one. "This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night," George Cheeks, the president of CBS and co-chief executive of Paramount, CBS's parent company, wrote in a press release. "It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount." MORE: ABC News and Disney+ announce new daily show 'What You Need to Know' "The Late Show" began in 1993 with then-host David Letterman. When Letterman left the show in 2015, he was replaced by Colbert, who has hosted for the last decade. "We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire 'THE LATE SHOW' franchise at that time," Cheeks said in the release, adding, "He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television." Colbert addressed the decision during his Thursday show, saying of the news, "I just found out last night." MORE: Jon Stewart returning to 'The Daily Show' once a week The late-night host's announcement was met with boos from the audience. "Yeah, I share your feelings," Colbert said, going to thank the network and the show's more than 200-person crew for their longstanding commitment to the program. "And I'm grateful to the audience, you, who have joined us every night, in here, out there and all around the world," he added.

ESPN isn't worried about any Shane Gillis backlash over ESPYs monologue

Shane Gillis' monologue at the ESPY Awards on Wednesday night has left plenty of people divided over the contents of the jokes, but the Disney-owned sports network isn't concerned about the reaction that Gillis' routine received, The Post has confirmed. During his roughly 10-minute opening, Gillis poked fun at just about everyone from popular sports figures to President Donald Trump in a biting opening sequence to kick off the annual sports award show. The Worldwide Leader always knew Gillis' comedic stylings weren't going to be for everyone, as TMZ first reported, but there were no worries about the 'Tires' star who has worked with the network on its 'College GameDay' show. 3 Host Shane Gillis speaks at the ESPY Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Wednesday, July 16, 2025. AP ESPN declined comment when reached by The Post. Among the topics that Gillis touched upon were Trump, Caitlin Clark, Aaron Rodgers and Jeffrey Epstein. The well-known comedian received mixed reactions during his eyebrow-raising opening remarks. Gillis asserted that women's soccer legend Megan Rapinoe was not a 'good time' in one of his first quips of the night and later joked that he and Clark, the WNBA superstar, had a lot in common because they were both 'whites from the Midwest who have nailed a bunch of 3s.' 3 Host Shane Gillis, top right, speaks at the ESPY Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Wednesday, July 16, 2025. AP 'When Caitlin Clark retires from the WNBA, she's going to work at a Waffle House so she can continue doing what she loves most, fist fighting black women,' he continued. In one of his most well-received jokes of the night, he aimed Bill Belichick and girlfriend Jordon Hudson after making a Shohei Ohtani joke related to his disgraced interpreter Ippei Mizuhara. 'A bookie is what Bill Belichick reads to his girlfriend before bedtime,' Gillis said on stage before launching into a list of crude titles for classic books. At least one former ESPNer didn't enjoy the show. 3 Nick Sirianni, Josh Sweat, Jalen Carter, and Jordan Mailata accept the Best Team Award from Druski and Shane Gillis onstage during the 2025 ESPY Awards at Dolby Theatre on July 16, 2025 in Hollywood, California. COOL.'

Disney Fans Say They ‘Need' Fisher-Price's New ‘Darling' Retro Toy Line

Disney Fans Say They 'Need' Fisher-Price's New 'Darling' Retro Toy Line originally appeared on Parade. Disney fans are getting nostalgic after an all-new collection featuring classic Fisher-Price toys launched this week, prompting them to declare that they 'need' the 'darling' products. The toys, which are available now on and will become available at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort throughout July and August , are based on classic childhood toys, but with a Disney twist. Related: There's the Mickey and friends little Pluto pull toy, which lets little ones pull a string 'leash' to walk Pluto, who wobbles on his wheels while his tail wags and his ears swing. Fisher-Price's classic cash register is back for tiny shopkeepers, this time with cute Mickey and Minnie Mouse accents as well as sweet nods to Goofy and Donald Duck, while the Mickey Mouse two tune TV and the Mickey Mouse music box record player both play classic tunes like 'London Bridge'' and 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat.' Fans seemed delighted by all of the toys, but one in particular stood out, a classic See 'N Say with farmer Mickey on the arrow that points to 12 different animals and their corresponding sounds. The toy even has Mickey ears and a base shaped like Mickey's iconic yellow shoes for an added touch of Disney magic. Related: One fan on Instagram declared that they 'NEED the See n Say!' and others agreed, taking to social media to say, 'core memories unlocked.' 'How darling!! I love these!' gushed a third as more said they 'Need one of everything.'
