The live-action Legend of Zelda movie has cast its princess and hero
The performers are around the right ages for their parts — Bragason was born in 2004 while Ainsworth is 16. These are by far the biggest roles to date for both actors, but they each have plenty of experience in front of cameras.
Bragason has appeared in Disney+ fantasy series Renegade Nell and BBC crime drama The Jetty, as well as the very enjoyable horror movie Censor and Final Fantasy XV. As for Ainsworth, he voiced Pinocchio in Disney's 2022 live-action remake and appeared in Mike Flanagan's Netflix series The Haunting of Bly Manor. Miyamoto said he is "very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen."
Sony Pictures is co-producing the film with Nintendo, while Wes Ball (the Maze Runner series) is directing it. The Legend of Zelda is on track to hit theaters on May 7, 2027.

Stephen Colbert's 'Late Show' is being canceled by CBS, citing 'financial decision'
After more than three decades on air, CBS announced on Thursday that its famed "Late Show" franchise is coming to a close. "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" will officially come to an end in May 2026, according to the network, which said the decision to end the show was a financial one. "This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night," George Cheeks, the president of CBS and co-chief executive of Paramount, CBS's parent company, wrote in a press release. "It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount." When Letterman left the show in 2015, he was replaced by Colbert, who has hosted for the last decade. "We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire 'THE LATE SHOW' franchise at that time," Cheeks said in the release, adding, "He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television." Colbert addressed the decision during his Thursday show, saying of the news, "I just found out last night." "Yeah, I share your feelings," Colbert said, going to thank the network and the show's more than 200-person crew for their longstanding commitment to the program. Shane Gillis' monologue at the ESPY Awards on Wednesday night has left plenty of people divided over the contents of the jokes, but the Disney-owned sports network isn't concerned about the reaction that Gillis' routine received, The Post has confirmed. During his roughly 10-minute opening, Gillis poked fun at just about everyone from popular sports figures to President Donald Trump in a biting opening sequence to kick off the annual sports award show.
