Uttam's poser to BRS leaders: Why are you scared of judicial probe if KLIS was a marvel
Addressing the press, Uttam Kumar Reddy said, 'Ever since the Judicial Commission headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice PC Ghose served notices, the BRS leadership has been running a propaganda campaign instead of cooperating. If they have confidence in the project, why don't they appear before the Commission and make their case? KTR should be renamed 'Goebbels Rao' for the way he is spreading misinformation and attacking institutions.'
Uttam condemned BRS leaders for 'disparaging a judicial process' and warned that deliberate attempts to undermine the Commission's credibility could have legal consequences. 'You cannot insult an institution simply because you've been asked to respond to questions about the Kaleshwaram project. The law will take its course,' he asserted.
Referring to recent remarks by BRS leaders about sabotage at the Medigadda barrage, Uttam questioned their motives. 'You were in government when the FIR was filed. Why didn't you bring up this 'bomb' theory then? Why now? Are you trying to escape the judicial process by creating sensational diversions?' he asked. 'If you have such evidence, submit it to the Commission instead of shouting from rooftops.'
He also said that the Congress government was exploring ways to revive and repurpose the Kaleshwaram project, though the task is daunting. 'We are making non-political, fact-based efforts to salvage what we can. But the foundations are defective. Every test report exposes the fraud. This is why BRS leaders are panicking – not because of politics, but because the truth is catching up.'

Karnataka Accepts Key Report, To Sub-Categorise Scheduled Castes Into 3 Groups
Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has formally decided to accept a report by Justice HN Nagmohan Das Commission on internal reservation among Scheduled Castes, but with certain modifications. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the decision in the Legislative Assembly earlier today, following a Cabinet meeting last night that cleared the proposal. The one-man commission, set up in November 2024, studied 101 Scheduled Castes across the state and submitted its report on August 1. Based on its findings, the government has now approved sub-categorisation of the 17 per cent SC quota into three groups - SC Left communities (6 per cent), SC Right (6 per cent), and a third combined group (5 per cent). The sub castes, like Paraya and Mogera, initially placed in the SC Left category by the Commission, were shifted back into the SC Right. Thus, the reservation has been slotted at 6 per cent. A decision has also been taken that the Adi Karnataka, Adi Andhra and Adi Dravida groups will be equally divided between the Left and Right categories. The 'touchabl' group (4 per cent) and 59 other castes (1 per cent) recommended as separate groups by the Commission have been merged, with a combined 5 per cent sub-reservation. This grouping was done after altering some of the panel's recommendations, including merging two categories and reassigning certain castes. Siddaramaiah also announced the formation of a Permanent Scheduled Castes Commission to review caste mobility and data from time to time, along with measures such as one-time age relaxation for recruitment and withdrawal of cases against protesters demanding sub-reservation. "The government has fulfilled a long-pending demand of Scheduled Castes by accepting the Justice Nagmohan Das report on internal reservation," the CM said, while reiterating that further changes could be made once new census data is available. However, the proceedings were marred by protests from the Opposition. The BJP, which had demanded a detailed discussion on the issue, staged a walkout after they were not given time to raise their points in the House.

KTR accuses Congress cadres of urea black marketing, demands White Paper on fertilizer supplies
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao alleged that fertilizer stocks were being diverted and sold in the black market by Congress leaders, forcing lakhs of farmers to queue up for hours across the State. He also demanded that the State government release a White Paper on the fertilizer situation, providing details on the quota allocated and supplied to the State, stock position in warehouses, actual distribution to farmers and quantities diverted or missing. Speaking to the media from his residence in Nandinagar on Wednesday, he said, 'For the first time in Telangana's history, women farmers are spending nights outside depots, farmers are leaving shoes and Aadhaar cards in queues to save their place, and in some cases, even facing police cases for demanding fertilizers,' he said. The former Minister also urged the Centre to order a comprehensive investigation and take action against those responsible for the shortage of fertilizer in the State. On the upcoming Vice-Presidential election, Mr. Rama Rao declared that the BRS will extend support only to the party that ensures the supply of 2 lakh metric tonnes of urea before September 9. 'No alliance has approached us yet. But our decision will be taken solely in the interest of Telangana farmers. If the Congress Chief Minister nominates a candidate, we will oppose without hesitation,' he said. Mr. Rama Rao also accused the Congress of hypocrisy on social justice, pointing out that despite claiming affection for BCs, the party had not nominated a BC leader for the Vice-Presidential post. 'If they were serious, they could have fielded intellectuals like Kancha Ilaiah or any eminent BC leader,' he remarked. The BRS working president slammed both Congress and BJP for failing Telangana. He criticised Rahul Gandhi for remaining silent on the fertilizer crisis despite his 'Rythu Declaration' promises. 'Rahul has not uttered a single word in Parliament while Telangana farmers are in distress. This exposes his double standards,' Mr. Rama Rao said.
