Paul Pogba undergoes career change by launching surprise business after doping scandal
Paul Pogba has launched a luxury jewellery business with wife Zulay as he looks to get his life back on track following his doping scandal. The French midfielder recently signed a two-year deal with AS Monaco, restarting his footballing journey after receiving a ban for failing a drug test.
Now, Pogba is eager to put his recent troubles behind him as he launches 'Unbreakable', a luxury collection in collaboration with his wife and jewellery house Elke Berr. Speaking to Var-Matin, Zulay described the struggles her husband has been through as something that created an extremely strong bond between them.
She said: "Paul's problems were public. It affected us as a couple. It affected our children. We have been through very tough times, but we have stayed united. This is what we wanted to communicate through the collection: you are not alone in facing difficulties, what matters is getting back up."

Pogba was once revered as one of the brightest talents in Europe. He found success at Juventus before returning to Manchester United, winning multiple trophies at the highest level. However, in 2023, the midfielder was initially suspended from playing after failing a drug test, with DHEA found in his system while in his second stint in Turin.
More failed results followed, and the Italian side mutually agreed to terminate his contract after Pogba was banned from playing for four years by the Italian Anti-Doping National Tribunal. This ban was later reduced to 18 months, and he was allowed back into the competitive foray by March of this year.
It wasn't just the stress of Pogba's drug ban that brought the couple closer together, though. The French international saw his brother, Mathias, sentenced to three years in prison in 2024 - with two years suspended - for attempted extortion of the ex-United star.
The former footballer had been accused, alongside five other men, of attempting to extort €13million (£10.7m) from Pogba, and was found guilty last year - despite protesting his innocence throughout.
Now, the current Monaco midfielder is trying to put his past behind him and focus on the future with his wife and children, with the jewellery business a joint venture between the two. Discussing their struggles, Zulay said: "Unbreakable isn't just about Paul and me.
"It's a shared story – that of a child with their mother or father, sisters, brothers, two best friends. These bonds help us not to be defeated by life's roller coaster. For us, Unbreakable is more than just a jewellery collection. It's a symbol."
The collection offers many different styles of jewellery, from necklaces to rings and bracelets, and is available on the Elke Berr Joaillerie website. Pogba and his partner plan to open a showroom in Monaco next September in collaboration with Monte-Carlo Diamonds.
The Bolivian model added: "What we went through was seen by many because it was public. But getting back up isn't just about returning to sport, it's about returning to life."
As Ligue 1 returns in a week, Pogba will hope his life will remain positive. For now, fans will assume a spot in France's 2026 World Cup squad is a potential pipe dream - but the 32-year-old will be back on the pitch soon enough.

Ballon d'Or 2026 odds: Scott McTominay's chances of glory ranked vs Liverpool, PSG and Barcelona superstars
Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay has been included on the 30-man shortlist for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award for 2025. He becomes the first Scottish men's player to be named in the list since Rangers legend Ally McCoist, who finished 21st back in 1987. Denis Law remains the only Scotsman to have won the award after his triumph in 1964. The Ballon d'Or recognises the best players in world football and has been up for grabs since 1956. The likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane have all got their hands on the trophy. McTominay, who has 61 caps for Scotland, joined Napoli from Premier League giants Manchester United for a fee of £25.7million a year ago. He scored 12 goals in his debut season and won the Scudetto for a fourth time. He was also named as the Italian top-flight 'Most Valuable Player' and now joins this year's shortlist alongside Barcelona's teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, England and Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane, Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe and Liverpool title-winner Mohamed Salah. Here, the Edinburgh Evening News ranks McTominay's chances of scooping the award based on the latest odds provided by football betting site talkSPORT Bet.

Crystal Palace clinched the Community Shield victory over Liverpool at Wembley on penalties (3-2), but social media is going wild for another reason following the recent revelation. However, Wirtz's debut performance was somewhat overshadowed before the match had even started after his middle name was revealed - Richard. Since it was unveiled on social media via the printed team sheet, Florian Richard Wirtz has been trending, and fans have been sent into a frenzy. One said: "Florian Richard Wirtz is better than every young midfielder." Another said: "Florian Wirtz's middle name is Richard. Give him what he wants." The fact that the midfielder was the only player 'middle-named' was also not lost on fans. One said: "All names first and second, then there is Florian RICHARD Wirtz." The revelation came off the back of Wirtz being named Germany's Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season after thriving with Bayer Leverkusen. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK When any team forks out £116million on a player, there is always going to be some scepticism about whether they will live up to the hype. And yet, Wirtz has proven to be an instant hit with Liverpool fans, in spite of his debut ending in defeat. Earlier this week, Wirtz said: "I think I'm a player who needs freedom on the pitch, and the manager gives it to me. 'Of course, I have to respect the position I'm in and the players around me, but I try to give my best on the pitch and find the right places, and I have the freedom for this here." That philosophy was evident at Wembley as the midfielder worked his way around the pitch, carving out space and causing Palace some major headaches. He was an integral part of Liverpool's initial momentum, feeding fellow debutant Hugo Ekitike on the edge of the box, with the French striker able to find the back of the net. 3 Wirtz played a crucial part in Ekitike's opening goal Credit: Getty It meant that within the first four minutes, Crystal Palace were on the back foot from the outset. While the outcome did not go Liverpool's way, as Palace managed to come from behind twice to take the match to penalties, it's safe to say Wirtz has become an instant hit.

Why Liverpool's Community Shield defeat could be bad omen for Arsenal and Premier League title rivals
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LIVERPOOL'S Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace could be a blessing in disguise for them... and a bad omen for title rivals. The Reds are looking to defend their Premier League crown this season, but started the campaign with a penalty shootout defeat to Crystal Palace at Wembley. That's because winning the curtain-raiser has been a bad omen for teams eyeing the title. Only once since 2011/12 has a team that won the Community Shield gone on to win the Prem in the following season. Out of those 14 completed seasons up to now, the only team to buck the trend was Pep Guardiola's Man City in 2018/19, which followed victory in the Shield via a penalty shootout against Liverpool. READ MORE IN FOOTBALL JOTA REMEMBERED Liverpool and Palace's emotional Jota tribute cut short after crowd shouts Arsenal have won the Shield five times since 2011, with City winning it four times, Manchester United winning it three times, and Leicester and Liverpool winning it once each. And while it is a nice trophy to add to the cabinet - even if arguments over whether it is a major trophy rumble on - it is typically not a good luck charm. The last time the curse of the Shield was lifted was when Sir Alex Ferguson's United beat Chelsea in 2010 before winning the 2010/11 season. Carlo Ancelotti's Blues had done the league and Shield double at the expense of the Red Devils in the 2009/10 season. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK And before that, United won two Shields at the start of the 2007/08 and 2008/09 campaigns before going on to win the top flight as part of their then-unmatched second three-peat. Arsenal, tipped as the closest challengers to the title once again, have been hunting their first elusive title since their treble-winning side of 2003/04. The six players Arsenal could sell to sign Eze | Transfers Exposed Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was still working as Guardiola's understudy when they did the Shield and Prem double, but he has not yet been able to translate what he learned into a title. They have finished second in each of the last three league seasons under Arteta, twice finishing behind Man City before seeing Liverpool take the crown last year. The Gunners have splashed £208million on new signings this summer, including a new talisman in Viktor Gyokeres and midfield general Martin Zubimendi, as well as some pricey squad improvements. Liverpool, City and Chelsea have all spent big as well this summer, but the Emirates faithful will be hoping their settled squad – and hopefully a lack of Community Shield omens – will finally guide them to a 14th English title. That is, unless Oliver Glasner's Crystal Palace do the unthinkable following their first-ever Community Shield victory. 6 6 Before 2011/12 Man Utd had a run of success of winning three Prem and Shield doubles between 2007 and 2011 Credit: PA:Press Association
