He clarified that farmers rejected during higher-level verification and validation, or those who failed to complete their eKYC, can also reapply. Applications should be submitted at the nearest Rythu Seva Kendra with the required details.
Dilli Rao explained that the scheme has been designed to extend financial support to farming families. Under the programme, the state govt released ₹25,000 to eligible beneficiaries while the central govt contributed ₹2,000 under PM-Kisan, bringing the total benefit to ₹27,000 per family, which was credited on August 2.
To identify beneficiaries, the agriculture department used data from the Revenue Webland portal (for landowners) and the forest department's Giribhoomi portal (for forest cultivators). Verification was carried out at the village level and later validated at the state level. The final lists were displayed at Rythu Seva Kendras, while farmers could also check their status online through the 'Know Your Status' option or via Mana Mitra WhatsApp services.
The Grievance Module was initially open between July 5 and 27, after which eligible farmers received funds along with regular beneficiaries. Responding to farmer requests, the govt reopened the module for a second phase between August 3 and 20.
With the deadline fast approaching, agriculture officers have been instructed to intensify awareness campaigns, ensuring no eligible farmer is left out. Farmers have been urged to use this final opportunity to file their grievances and claim their rightful benefits under the scheme.

State's solar energy capacity touches 706.34MW

Kendrapada: Odisha's total installed solar power capacity stood at 706.34 MW till June 30, according to data from the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency. Around 486.66 MW worth of solar projects are underway. However, several projects face delays due to pending approvals for tree felling, vegetation clearance and land acquisition, minister of state for new and renewable energy and power Shripad Naik told the Rajya Sabha recently. In response to a query from Muzibulla Khan, the minister said that till July 31, a total of 16,441 solar pumps were sanctioned for the state, with 5,713 installed. The govt has launched the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana to achieve rooftop solar installations in 1 crore households by 2026-27. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha & Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme has been launched to support farmers in installing standalone solar grid-connected agriculture pumps and setting up solar power plants on barren, fallow or agricultural land. The scheme is being implemented nationwide, the minister added. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). Naidu to inaugurate Ratan Tata Innovation Hub today

Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH), the first govt-led incubator, on Wednesday. Tata Group chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran and IT minister Nara Lokesh will also attend the event. The vision behind RTIH is to create a platform where ideas become enterprises, young people become job creators instead of job seekers, and villages lead innovation. While Amaravati will be the central node of the RTIH, positioning itself as a hub for deep tech, AI, sustainability, and inclusive innovation, five spokes will be set up at Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Tirupati, and Anantapur. The RTIH will support startups in incubation, IPR support, skill acceleration, digital transformation, and innovation. It will integrate statewide digital infrastructure such as real-time governance and Mana Mitra services. Each RTIH spoke will be managed through a non-profit entity, governed by corporate partners and academia, with govt playing the role of a catalyst to build a democratically decentralised model. The RTIH has adopted global best practices like Israel's decentralised incubation networks, Finland's innovation clusters, Singapore's innovation economy, and the UK's catapult centres for applied research and development. Indias Rs 62,000 Crore Indigenous Fighter Jet Push: Govt Clears Deal To Buy 97 LCA Tejas Mark 1A Combat Jets

In a major boost to indigenous defence manufacturing, the Government of India on Tuesday approved the purchase of 97 more LCA Tejas Mark 1A fighter jets for the Indian Air Force. This decision comes at a time when the Air Force is phasing out its ageing MiG-21 fleet and playing a key role in large-scale military exercises like Operation Sindoor. The clearance was given during a high-level government meeting and will now allow Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to begin production, defence officials told ANI. Second Big Order for Tejas Jets This is the second major order for Tejas Mark 1A aircraft. The first order for 83 jets was placed a few years ago at a cost of around Rs 48,000 crore. Together, these jets will form a crucial part of the Air Force's future fleet as the MiG-21s are finally being retired in the coming weeks. It's seen as not just a military upgrade, but also a big push under the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. The project will benefit hundreds of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) involved in manufacturing defence components across India. PM Modi's Personal Support Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been a key supporter of HAL and India's defence manufacturing capabilities. He even flew in a trainer version of the Tejas — becoming the first Indian Prime Minister ever to fly in a combat aircraft. The idea of acquiring 97 more jets was first shared by former Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, during his visit to Spain. The aircraft is considered a symbol of India's growing self-reliance in aerospace and defence technology. What's Next? HAL is also expected to receive additional orders in the near future — including over 200 Tejas Mark 2 jets and a large order for India's upcoming fifth-generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA).
