Ahaan Panday's path to stardom began long before Saiyaara. Casting director Shanoo Sharma spotted him at 19. Ahaan initially hesitated due to his looks. He later became part of the YRF family. Ahaan Panday
may be enjoying massive success with Saiyaara today, but his journey started long before the film hit theatres. A recent interview has revealed how a missed meeting, early doubts, and years of preparation led to one of Bollywood's biggest debuts in recent times.
Spotted at 19, but looked 15
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, YRF's casting director Shanoo shared that she first approached Ahaan Panday when he was just 19. She revealed that Ahaan has been part of the journey with her for nearly nine years, highlighting the long association leading up to his blockbuster debut in Saiyaara.
Turning doubts into determination
Sharma recalled that when she first reached out to Ahaan Panday, he was just 19 but looked much younger—around 15.
She had come across a quirky post of his online that piqued her interest and prompted her to ask for a meeting. However, Ahaan initially declined, assuming he wouldn't be considered because of his tanned complexion and unconventional looks. But when they finally did meet, Shanoo immediately felt confident that they were going to work together.
Following their first meeting, Ahaan quickly became an unofficial part of the YRF family, well before Saiyaara even went on floors.

Son of Sardaar 2 Full Movie Collection: 'Son of Sardaar 2' Box Office Collection Day 6: Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur starrer dips to Rs 1.65 crore amid slowdown at ticket windows

Son of Sardaar 2, starring and in lead roles, saw a noticeable dip in its box office performance on Day 6. Box Office Collection The film, which is a sequel to the 2012 hit, opened to a solid response at the box office, kicking off with a first-day collection of Rs 7.25 crore. The film maintained its momentum over the weekend, adding Rs 8.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 9.25 crore on Sunday. This brought its opening weekend total to a respectable Rs 24.75 crore nett. Box Office Slowdown Despite the decline, the film's performance was relatively stable in comparison to other ongoing theatrical releases, all of which witnessed a slowdown. 'Son of Sardaar 2' still fared better than romantic drama 'Dhadak 2', which earned close to Rs 1 crore on the same day. Meanwhile, 'Saiyaara', which has been drawing steady footfalls, earned approximately Rs 2 crore, maintaining its pace despite the midweek drop in overall collections. The film, featuring an ensemble cast including Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, , Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Chunky Pandey, Kubbra Sait, Vindu Dara Singh, Mukul Dev, and Ashwini Kalsekar alongside Devgn has been praised for its high-energy action, humour, and scenic visuals. However, according to these reports, it faces the challenge of keeping up its box office pace amidst mixed critical reception and an increasingly crowded theatrical market.

Russell Wilson's wife Ciara blasted for ‘disrespectful' sheer dress — critics say she emasculated NFL star

Ciara's daring sheer gown at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in March 2023 ignited social media (Getty Images) In March 2023, Ciara set social media ablaze after stepping onto the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet in a daring, crystal-studded sheer gown designed by Peter Dundas. The dress, which revealed a thong and bared most of her back, triggered a wave of criticism — but the nature of the backlash raised deeper questions about how Black women are policed for expressing their bodies. Ciara's sheer Vanity Fair dress sparked outrage — but was the backlash rooted in misogynoir? Many online critics took issue with Ciara's outfit not simply because it was revealing, but because she is a wife and mother. Culture writer Tiwa Adebayo noted the hypocrisy of this reaction, especially since other celebrities — including Emily Ratajkowski and Hunter Schafer — wore similarly revealing dresses that night but were largely spared the same judgment. 'It looks like the biggest group criticizing her, especially on Twitter, is actually Black men,' said Adebayo, who connected the outrage to respectability politics and the perception that Ciara's choice of attire reflected poorly on her husband, NFL quarterback Russell Wilson . 'They've taken [the dress] and applied it to her husband... implying he doesn't have control over his woman in quite a damaging way.' A viral clapback and a deeper cultural critique Ciara responded to the backlash with humor, posting a TikTok where she strutted in a full white sheet to audio from her red carpet moment. She captioned it 'selective outrage' — a pointed nod to the inconsistency in how society treats women's fashion choices, particularly for Black women. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas in Dubai | Search Ads Get Info Undo Race and gender therapist Donna Oriowo reminded critics, 'Her husband is her partner, not her owner.' She added, 'Too often we equate love with ownership, and maleness with dominance over a wife.' The controversy surrounding Ciara's dress was not an isolated event but part of a larger pattern, one that disproportionately targets Black women for breaking unspoken social rules. As Adebayo concluded, 'It's symptomatic of a wider trend of having contradictory high standards for Black women.' More than just a fashion statement, Ciara's dress forced a cultural reckoning with deep-rooted double standards.
