The film, which is a sequel to the 2012 hit, opened to a solid response at the box office, kicking off with a first-day collection of Rs 7.25 crore. The film maintained its momentum over the weekend, adding Rs 8.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 9.25 crore on Sunday. This brought its opening weekend total to a respectable Rs 24.75 crore nett.
However, the film faced a noticeable drop in collections as the weekday began, earning only Rs 2.35 crore on Monday, and Rs 2.75 on Tuesday, marking a significant decline since its release.
Box Office Slowdown
Despite the decline, the film's performance was relatively stable in comparison to other ongoing theatrical releases, all of which witnessed a slowdown. The box office slump appears to be industry-wide, with several major Hindi films reporting lower figures on Tuesday.
'Son of Sardaar 2' still fared better than romantic drama 'Dhadak 2', which earned close to Rs 1 crore on the same day. Meanwhile, 'Saiyaara', which has been drawing steady footfalls, earned approximately Rs 2 crore, maintaining its pace despite the midweek drop in overall collections.

Now, as he yet again plays a dad in Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri starrer Dhadak 2, the actor, in conversation with us at News18, revealed how he faced problems playing an arrogant dad and wanted to redeem himself with this film. When asked if he had any hesitation playing a cross-dressing dad, the actor shared, 'I think the whole idea of this role was very beautiful to me. Also, Taare Zameen Par ke baad bohot galiyan padhi thi. I wanted to redeem myself and share that there is a heart inside every father."
