's live-action TV series based on the popular God of War gaming franchise has shared new details about the upcoming adaptation. The show's makers have confirmed that it will remain largely faithful to the 2018 game. Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con, Ronald D. Moore, the series showrunner and former executive producer of Battlestar Galactica, stated that while the show will not be a frame-by-frame remake, it will honour the spirit of Sony Santa Monica's source material. With this series, the makers plan to bring the story of legendary Kratos to TV screens.
What Amazon's God of War TV series said about the show
In a statement to Collider, Moore said:
"This world and this universe are really rich, and it's interesting, and it's really been fun to adapt. It's an adaptation, so it's an adaptation-slash-interpretation as you go into live-action, and it's been really fun to sort of go, 'Wow, there's a lot here we can play with. Okay, we want to keep the story. We want to keep the characters and the spirit of it'. There's all this stuff that you can keep turning to for inspiration. It's really been interesting.'
Moore also mentioned that game director Cory Barlog is closely involved with the project. He also referred to Barlog, who led the development of 2022's God of War sequel Ragnarök, as a "genius."

'I've had several meetings with Cory, and you ask Cory, 'Well, tell me about the backstory of this or how this works', and he just can talk because he holds it all in his head. And I usually pride myself about, as a showrunner, I can hold the season in my head. I know what the 10 episodes are, and I can tell you about them. Cory can tell you the whole thing in every possible way - all the mythology, how it connects one to the other, what the puzzles were, why they did this, and what that artifact did. It's really impressive. I mean, it is like a gigantic novel, even bigger than the Outlander novels, which is a lot to digest,'
Moore added.
In a separate interview with IGN, Moore suggested that elements from Kratos' earlier adventures before Santa Monica's God of War reboot could be included.
'You'll have to wait and see,'
Moore said.
Currently, the 10 episodes of Moore's God of War adaptation are still in the "scripts" phase, with filming potentially starting in 2026, he noted.

‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps' box office collection Day 5: Pedro Pascal-Vanessa Kirby starrer expected to close Week 1 in India with Rs 25 crore haul

'The Fantastic Four: First Steps', the latest Marvel offering featuring Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby , saw a marginal growth in collections on Day 5 at the Indian box office. Despite a strong start and favourable reviews, the film continues to face stiff competition from local entries. According to early estimates on sacnilk, the superhero film earned approximately Rs 1.9 crore on Tuesday, a modest rise from its Monday earnings of Rs 1.66 crore. This brings the film's total five-day collection to Rs 23.68 crore in India. The film opened with Rs 5.5 crore on Friday and saw an encouraging jump over the weekend, collecting Rs 7.35 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.25 crore on Sunday. Its opening weekend total stood at an estimated Rs 20.1 crore. However, like many weekday trends, the numbers saw a dip post-weekend. Breaking down the collections, 'The Fantastic Four' earned an estimated Rs 17.27 crore from its English-language shows, while the Hindi-dubbed versions have contributed Rs 5.44 crore to the overall total. Despite the lukewarm weekday performance, the film remains on track to close its first week at approximately Rs 25 crore at the Indian box office. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Insurance Companies Are Offering Low Rates for These Vehicles (Is Yours on the List?) Trade analysts suggest that 'The Fantastic Four'has been significantly impacted by the ongoing success of the Bollywood romantic drama 'Saiyaara'. The Mohit Suri directorial, starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda , has proven to be a major draw for audiences, grossing over Rs 266 crore in just under two weeks. The film's sustained dominance across multiplexes and single screens has likely eaten into the potential audience for the superhero film. 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' is still expected to have a steady run in India, however, its performance will depend heavily on the footfall over the coming weekend and the arrival of new releases.
