SG's 1st Sichuan speakeasy opens at Changi Airport T3 with lucky draw promo
Chengdu Bowl's flagship outlet has arrived at Changi Airport Terminal 3! It's Singapore's first-ever Sichuanese speakeasy restaurant, offering flavours that transport you directly to Chengdu without boarding a plane.
Hidden behind a door disguised as a vending machine, Chengdu Bowl's fifth outlet is by far its most elaborate one. Decorated with vivid colours, greenery, photographs of the streets and mahjong and panda-themed plushies, every corner can be an aesthetic photo spot.
As part of the Grand Opening Promotion from 16 to 25 May, diners can enjoy a discount of up to 50% per meal depending on group size. 2 diners get 20% off, 3 get 30%, 4 get 40% and groups of 5 or more get a 50% discount.
Those who are more daring can try the Mahjong Lucky Draw and attempt to get 1 to 3 tiles from the 'Dot' suit out of 3 tiles. You can get a complimentary drink or even a free dish at Chengdu Bowl Changi, depending on the number you draw.
Many associate Sichuanese cuisine with anything mala (numbing spice) flavoured, but it's more than just that. Here, you'll be able to experience both spicy and non-spicy authentic Sichuan food seasoned with a wide variety of spices.
Mom's Homemade Rice Pot (S$32.80) is one fan favourite that showcases the milder and more comforting flavours of Chengdu. It's a gravy rice dish that is simmered in a stone crockpot with prawns, abalone, vegetables and flavourful broth that we couldn't get enough of.
The Sichuan Spiced Beef Pot (S$28.80), another of Chengdu Bowl Changi Airport's non-spicy dishes, features a hearty soup full of meatballs, brisket, tendon, enoki mushrooms and bean sprouts.
The Prawn with in Golden Broth (S$26.80) and Sizzling Beef on Hotplate (S$23.80) are some other dishes that the restaurant also highly recommends.
If you'd like a challenge, crank up the heat with the Classic Spicy Chilli Chicken with Cheesy Rice Cakes (S$22.80). This one had my mala-loving companion and me panting from the numbing spice that gradually kicked in. The fact that we were trying the already toned-down version of the dish and were still struggling was insane!
Chengdu Bowl at Changi's Classic Spicy Assorted Skewers in Red Chilli Oil (S$14.80) may be spicy, but they're nowhere as powerful as the Chilli Chicken. These potato, prawn, meat and wood ear fungus skewers provide just enough heat for the average spice lover without singeing their tastebuds.
For a light yet flavourful pairing dish, pick the Sweet & Sour Poached Cabbage (S$13.80), which has a rich smoky flavour. The Volcano Crispy Shredded Potatoes with Secret Seasoning (S$12.80) are also rather addictive and a popular option among diners.
Chengdu Bowl Changi is a great gathering spot for a wholesome meal with the whole family, with its wide range of sharing dishes. Kids under 12 receive a complimentary kids' meal with every paying adult so it's a great deal for families!
Mark your calendars for 16 May, and head down to experience a taste of Chengdu in our very own Changi Airport T3 before the promotions end on 25 May!

This Beach Was Named No. 1 in Asia—and It Has Powdery White Sand, Crystal-clear Waters, and Majestic Rock Formations
The Philippines is made up of 7,641 islands, and this stunning archipelago is famous for its natural beauty and diverse coral reefs. This island nation is home to some of the most pristine beaches in the world. In fact, World's 50 Best Beaches just named Entalula Beach in Palawan, a province in the Philippines, the best beach in Asia—and the second best beach in the world. Entalula Beach is part of the El Nido region of Palawan. Its sandy white shores are surrounded by clear, turquoise water. This tropical paradise is surrounded by looming limestone cliffs and dotted with lush vegetation. Visitors can snorkel through vibrant coral reefs that are just a short swim from the shore, or they can search for hidden coves by paddle board or kayak. After a long day in the water, the palm trees and powdery sand provide the perfect spot to enjoy a good book or suntan session. Entalula Beach is largely beloved thanks to its seclusion. Visitors can only access the beach by boat, which takes about 30 minutes to an hour. The surrounding islands ensure that the journey will be just as beautiful as the destination. This also makes the beach far less busy than others in the El Nido region, and the peace and quiet allow travelers the chance to fully immerse themselves in nature. The beach is just as beautiful below the water as it is above it. Scuba divers enjoy exploring the west bay of Entalula Island, which has a beautiful coral garden and El Nido's famous limestone wall diving site. Divers commonly spot sharks, whales, dolphins, and turtles off the coast of the island. There are many tours that take travelers from El Nido to Entalula Beach. These also often include visits to the Secret Lagoon, Cudugnon Cave, and other islands in the area. For the most serene experience, travelers are advised to opt for the early morning tours that avoid the crowds. In addition to its gorgeous beaches, the Philippines is also known for its bustling cities, delightful cuisine, and warm hospitality. This is a country where each island opens the door to a new adventure–whether it is swimming with dugongs in Calauit Island or hiking Bohol's Chocolate Hills.
