It's a new frontier for "The Pioneer Woman."
Food Network star Ree Drummond revealed in a blog post published April 30 that, after "a few fluctuations," she is returning to the "original method" that helped kickstart her health journey and led her to lose over 50 pounds.
"The game changer for me is two-fold: First, I'm building muscle again, which is crucial. I do lunges, squats, deadlifts, and floor exercises with ankle weights. Second, I'm eating more protein and keeping it a higher percentage of my calories." Drummond wrote. "This time, I am not weighing my food and counting calories."
After her dramatic weight loss in 2021, Drummond wrote, "Bottom line, starting at the end of 2023 I stopped exercising and kinda stopped paying attention to what I was eating."
The mom and grandmother told fans that despite skipping alcohol for four months during her last lifestyle change, she drinks white wine and tops it off with Topo Chico sparkling water "so it's kind of a wine spritzer type of thing" as a way to indulge.
In February, Drummond said she "decided to jump back the plan I'd found success with in 2021, just not quite as high a gear as the first time."
"The very hardest part was the first week to ten days," she continued. "Today it's not that hard at all, and in fact, it's actually rewarding as I'm feeling better and better all the time."
Drummond left a disclaimer for fans, stressing that her methods for weight loss work for her.
"Long story short, I have found that it all still holds true, and FOR ME, it is working again like clockwork or science or whatever the word is," the Oklahoma native added.
Ree Drummond previously addressed weight loss drug rumors
Last year, Drummond clarified rumors that she was using supplements or weight loss gummies after she noticed a host of false advertisements on Facebook suggesting she was using them.
In March, Drummond announced on the social media platform that she would update her previous blog explaining the dos and don'ts of her journey amid the "celebrity endorsement fraud" she's seen running rampant.
"I did not take Ozempic, Wegovy, or similar medications. I know this has been a big topic in recent years, so I thought I'd add this paragraph," she wrote in an update to her blog.
While writing that she supports "anyone who has success" on weight loss medications, the "boring truth" is that she "had never heard of that class of drugs" when she set out on her weight loss journey.
"And to be honest, if I had heard of them and had seen all the results that are out there, I might have been tempted to try them. But I simply didn't know those drugs existed then, so I dove in using all the methods below," Drummond said.
"I definitely needed to lose weight for my own preference based on where I thought I should be, but it's more about how I feel after a few months of regular exercise, more moving, and more mindful eating," she continued. "Feeling good is really all that matters, and because of that, the weigh-ins are becoming less and less important to me."

'90s Alt-Rocker Felled by Medical Emergency Still Needs Your Help Amid Recovery
'90s Alt-Rocker Felled by Medical Emergency Still Needs Your Help Amid Recovery originally appeared on Parade. , the singer-guitarist known for such 1990s alternative rock hits as 'Girlfriend' and 'Sick of Myself,' suffered a debilitating stroke in October 2024 while on tour with Hanson in Canada. In wake of that stroke, Sweet's management team created a GoFundMe account for the musician to help pay for the tremendous costs for his medical care, rehab and to renovate his home so it is physically accessible to the musician, who is now wheelchair bound. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 To make matters worse, Sweet's wife, who was trained to take over as his primary caretaker once he moved back into their Omaha, Neb. home, suffered a fall and severely broke her leg, requiring her to have immediate surgery and round-the-clock nursing care along with Matthew. Sweet's manager Russell Carter, took to Facebook on Friday, June 6 to share the news and ask for more support from his fans, although more than $600,000 has been raised to date. 'To begin, Matthew wants all of you to know that he would not be where he is today without your profoundly generous support. A day does not pass without him acknowledging how lucky he is to have caring family, friends, music business associates and fans,' he wrote. Carter added some details about Sweet's current physical condition. 'Matthew is wheelchair bound due to a lack of coordination in his legs (caused by stroke induced ataxia) and he does not have sufficient coordination in his hands to even try to play instruments. He cannot at this time use a walker. He also has coordination issues with his eyes which impairs his sight. While his speaking voice is only slightly impaired, he cannot sing. Doctors still cannot give Matthew a prognosis for the future which means he must soldier on daily with determination and engage in therapy hoping for the best but without knowing what the eventual outcome will be. This is a very hard predicament to endure,' he explained. Carter added that most of the money raised through the initial GoFundMe campaign has been spent and Sweet, 60, still has some remaining hospital bills that need to be paid, so he's asking for fans to donate again, if they can. 'If you can donate again to his fund, he can continue to work hard on his rehab at home and at out patient facilities and he can continue to pay his bills until one day he can hopefully return to being a self sustaining working musician,' he added. 'In the meantime , donations will go strictly to covering his basic recurring monthly expenses. Any continued support is very much appreciated.''90s Alt-Rocker Felled by Medical Emergency Still Needs Your Help Amid Recovery first appeared on Parade on Jun 6, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 6, 2025, where it first appeared.

The horse Bobby Flay couldn't sell has long-shot Belmont Stakes dream
SARATOGA SPRINGS — At 15-1 odds, Crudo is a long shot to outrun Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty and Preakness champion Journalism to the wire in Saturday's Belmont Stakes at Saratoga. One could argue, however, that this outcome would be no more of a surprise than the circumstances that led Crudo into the Triple Crown race in the first place for owners Bobby Flay and Jimmy Ventura and Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher. 'Jimmy and I were going to buy him as a pinhook proposition — we bought him as a weanling and we were going to sell him as a yearling. We brought him to the Saratoga [Fasig-Tipton] sale, and he didn't sell, so we kept him,' Flay, the chef, restaurant magnate and Food Network star told The Post early Friday morning before visiting Crudo. 'I don't usually race colts. I usually race fillies only. But I have him, so he's racing, and he's turned out to have talent,' Flay continued. 'The Belmont Stakes is New York's most important race and as a New Yorker, it's clearly important to me.' 3 Celebrity chef Bobby Flay is pictured next to Crudo on June 6. Jason Szenes for the NY Post Flay, 60, says he's been watching horse racing since his teenage years when he and his friends from the Yorkville neighborhood in upper Manhattan would cut school and take the A train to Aqueduct. The Belmont Stakes has long been a staple of Flay's social calendar. 'I go to the Belmont every year. I usually take 20-30 people to Belmont Park and make a day out of it,' Flay said. 'It's become a tradition where I have people over to my house for brunch, everyone comes dressed in their racing gear — suits, summer dresses, hats. I feed them in the morning and then put everyone in cars and we go to Belmont and we have a day.' He said those nights usually end with a group dinner at Wolfgang's Steakhouse on 33rd Street. But Saturday, the stakes will be much higher. On Preakness Day at Pimlico, in his third career start, Crudo won the Sir Barton Stakes by 7¹/₂ lengths. Pletcher, a four-time winner in the Belmont, gave the son of 2018 Triple Crown champion Justify a few weeks to breeze, considered other options and decided to give it a go in the $2 million race. 'The horse is here, he's doing well, I don't see a whole lot of pace in the race, we've got [jockey] John Velazquez available,' Pletcher said. 'I couldn't come up with a reason not to give it a try.' Crudo's name, not surprisingly, has ties to the culinary world. 3 Bobby Flay is pictured June 6. Jason Szenes for the NY Post 'I came up with the name,' Flay said, explaining he acknowledged raw talent, though on menus everywhere the word means raw fish. 'It's so hard to name these horses. I liked the fact that it meant raw because he was such a young horse when we bought him and he had talent. 'I told Jimmy what I named him and he was like, 'Really?' He wasn't impressed,' Flay added about his partner, who is in commercial real estate and has been involved in horse racing for more than 30 years. 'Naming horses and naming restaurants. If they turn out to be good, the name makes perfect sense. It couldn't be anything else.' Flay spent much of his spring rooting on his beloved Knicks from the first few rows at Madison Square Garden. Like most fans, he reveled in the team's longest playoff run in 25 years and still is feeling the disappointment. 3 Bobby Flay and co-owner James Ventura are pictured with their horse, Crudo, on June 6. Jason Szenes for the NY Post 'I remember all the playoff seasons when we ran into Michael Jordan,' said Flay, who lists the Knicks and Yankees as his biggest sports passions. 'We were good then, but we kind of couldn't get past it. It was fun to watch those guys play this year. They're a really good team and, unfortunately, they lost to Indiana.' Flay said he was surprised at the firing of coach Tom Thibodeau. 'I am. I thought he did a good job. I mean, we beat the world champions. We beat the Celtics soundly,' he said. 'A couple things go different ways and you're in the Finals. I don't always think that new is a good idea, but it's not my team.' His team on Saturday is Crudo-Flay-Ventura-Pletcher. 'Both Bobby and Jimmy love horse racing. Bobby's been terrific to train for, for a number of years,' Pletcher said. 'He's knowledgeable and also always says, 'You can make the decision.' We've had some success together and these guys are fun to train for.'

Capcom Announces Street Fighter 6's New Characters By Paying Kenny Omega To Cosplay Them
I don't watch wrestling, but I feel a kinship to Kenny Omega as a fellow Kenny. Well, I did, until I realized his name is actually Tyson Smith. He just took on the name, I was born into it. Anyway, since he is not a true Ken, I have found a new reason to connect with the wrestler after seeing him cosplay as every character Street Fighter 6 is adding next season. Omega is known for his nerdy cosplays in wrestling, so it's good to see him getting the bag elsewhere. I won't be playing any of these new characters because I am a Ryu one-trick, but I have to respect the craft. Street Fighter 6's Year 3 roster update will add Sagat, Alex, Ingrid, and C. Viper to the game. Alex and Sagat were both recently playable in Street Fighter V, while C. Viper and Ingrid have been missing in action for at least a few entries. C. Viper last appeared as a playable character in Street Fighter IV. Ingrid, meanwhile, hasn't been playable since Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX. Once all four fighters roll out, Street Fighter 6's roster will reach 30 characters. Here's Capcom's tentative schedule: Sagat - Summer 2025 C. Viper - Autumn 2025 Alex - Early Spring 2026 Ingrid - Late Spring 2026 Street Fighter 6 launched in 2023 and has been getting a steady rollout of new fighters since launch. Each new character is implemented into the game's story mode, allowing your avatar character to learn their movesets and do fun social sim events with them to get to know them better. The game letting me fail to flirt with Ryu remains a moment more humbling than any defeat I've ever faced in the arena. For more on Street Fighter 6, check out Kotaku's review. .
