KOTA BARU: Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan has asked the public to be vigilant after his WhatsApp account was hacked by unknown individuals.
He is now asking people to ignore any messages or requests that come from his account number.
In his Facebook posting tonight, he confirmed that his account had been compromised and that any messages or requests sent using his number were not from him.
"I wish to inform the public that my WhatsApp account has been hacked by irresponsible individuals.
"I also urge everyone to remain vigilant and not to respond to any suspicious messages that appear to come from my number or use my photo," he said.
Fadzli advised the public to report any incident to the relevant authorities and avoid sharing personal information with unknown parties.
The incident was not the first to occur for the state's leaders.
On Feb 19, Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud lodged a report following the hacking of his WhatsApp account.
In a post on his Facebook account, he said that the report was lodged by his special officer.
Nassaruddin also advised anyone who had conducted transactions through his hacked account to report the incident to the police as soon as possible.

The prime minister's home, where he lived for almost 20 years before moving to Downing Street, is located on Countess Road in north London. Woman molested by housemate while asleep in Cheras condo
KUALA LUMPUR: A woman endured a traumatic experience after she was molested by her housemate at a condominium in Jalan Cheras on Thursday. A source said the incident took place at around 2am, when the victim was asleep in her room and realised parts of her body were being touched. "The victim woke up and reached for her phone to call her boyfriend. He said the suspect later sent a WhatsApp message apologising and claiming that he had mistakenly entered the wrong room. The victim, dissatisfied and worried that the incident might recur, lodged a police report on the same day. Meanwhile, Cheras district police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan confirmed receiving a report on the incident when contacted.
