‘Outer Banks' Star Jonathan Daviss to Play Snoop Dogg in Biopic
Outer Banks star Jonathan Daviss has been tapped to play Snoop Dogg in an upcoming biopic from director Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Coming 2 America). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brewer is currently working on revising the script previously written by Joe Robert Cole (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) that tells the story of Calvin Broadus Jr.'s rise to fame as West Coast rap legend Snoop Dogg.
The movie is being co-produced by Snoop, as well as Brian Grazer (Music By John Williams) and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ranmaker in the first project of Death Row Pictures' deal with NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios.

Nashville native Daviss, 25, made his debut in 2014 in the movie Deliverance Creek and has since appeared in films including Netflix's 2022 comedy Do Revenge in addition to playing Pope Heyward on the streamer's long-running teen drama Outer Banks.
The rapper was clearly psyched to finally share the news on Monday (June 9), reposting the Deadline article that broke the story on his Instagram feed with the message, 'Let's go nefew!! [fist pound, bicep flex, music, film emoji] it's time [prayer hands, checkmark emoji].' Daviss also posted the Deadline story with the on-brand caption 'Bow wow wow' along with a snap of him leaning on a dog house near a mural of the cover from Snoop's 1993 debut solo album, Doggystyle.
Death Row Pictures also got in on the action, uploading a snap of Daviss walking the red carpet at the 2025 BET Awards on Monday night with Snoop and his wife, Shante Broadus, who made the scene in matching deep blue suits at the show where Snoop took home the Ultimate Icon award.

Red Hot Paige Spiranac Gives U.S. Open Dark Horses, Breaks Down Oakmont
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. When it comes to predicting major championships, Paige Spiranac has a better track record than many expert forecasters, at least for the current season. The popular golf influencer correctly predicted the winners of the Masters Tournament and the PGA Championship, and she hopes to extend her streak at the US Open. Spiranac shared her US Open predictions on her X account, which has over one million followers. "Cream normally rise to the top in championships like this, so no surprise the favorites are going to be Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau, but if you're looking at some dark horses, I'm liking Harris English and Ben Griffin," she said. "I'm looking for carnage this week and fingers crossed that we actually get an over par winner." There's no question that these four picks are extremely interesting. Scheffler is the overwhelming favorite in any prediction given his recent performance, especially over the past month. During that period, the World No. 1 won three tournaments, including the PGA Championship, his third career major. DeChambeau, for his part, has been second to none in terms of strong results. The reigning U.S. Open champion has a victory in LIV Golf and finished in the top 10 in the first two major championships of this season. In fact, the two-time major champion has finished in the top 10 in five of the last six majors, including one victory and two runner-up finishes. (Photo byfor Sports Illustrated Swimsuit) MoreAs for Spiranac's dark horses, they are certainly two of the hottest players on the PGA Tour right now. English won the Farmers Insurance Open earlier in 2025 and finished second in the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow just four weeks ago. Meanwhile, Griffin has won twice in the last six weeks (Zurich Classic and Rocket Mortgage Classic). During that time, he also achieved a top-10 finish at the PGA Championship and a second-place finish at the Memorial Tournament. The surprise in Spiranac's prediction came when she didn't mention Rory McIlroy, who is considered by most forecasters to be one of the top favorites to win the US Open. His most recent results—T47 at the PGA Championship and missing the cut at the RBC Canadian Open—likely influenced her omission. As you may recall, McIlroy's results came after the USGA found his competition driver as non-conforming ahead of the PGA Championship. However, he has been seen at the Oakmont Country Club carrying the TaylorMade Qi10 model again, which he used for his early season successes. Sabrina Carpenter's 'Manchild' Is Clawing Toward a Hot 100 #1 Debut
Sabrina Carpenter is no longer the rising pop princess. She's a fully formed femme fatale with diamond fangs, and her latest venom-laced single, 'Manchild,' is biting deep into the Billboard charts and possibly clawing its way to a #1 debut on the Hot 100. What started as a sleek feminist kiss-off has exploded into a bona fide streaming juggernaut, and as of this moment, Sabrina is in a deadly close race with TikTok heartthrob Alex Warren's 'Ordinary' for the top spot. According to projections, the songs are now within just 10 chart points of each other, an astonishingly tight margin that could tip in Sabrina's favor if her streaming momentum continues through the week. 'Manchild' didn't just whisper its way onto streaming platforms it stomped in, six-inch heels and all. The track debuted at #1 on the Global Spotify Chart on June 6 with a staggering 8.05 million streams worldwide, marking the biggest debut of the year by a female artist. Let's be very clear: this isn't just a fluke. These numbers obliterate the previous 2025 record set by Chappell Roan's 'The Giver' and cement Sabrina as not just a pop girl but a pop girl. In the U.S. specifically, 'Manchild' dropped jaws with 3.3 million streams on its first day, giving it a firm grip on the #1 spot on the U.S. Spotify Chart. That's right: Sabrina Carpenter is topping streaming charts in the same week as new releases from Post Malone, Cardi B, and even a surprise drop from The Weeknd. The girl is unfazed, unbothered, and undeniably unstoppable. Here's the breakdown of 'Manchild''s first three days on Spotify: Day 1: 8,752,217 Day 2: 4,766,328 Day 3: 4,526,518 (down only 5.03% from the day before) Total so far? A cool 18,045,063 streams. And she's just getting started. Sabrina isn't just relying on vibes she's playing this game with ruthless pop star precision. 'Manchild' has been discounted to 69 cents on digital platforms, making it one of the best-selling singles of the week on U.S. iTunes, where it now sits pretty at #1. This is Sabrina's first #1 on iTunes, and with digital sales factored heavily into Billboard's Hot 100 formula, this price drop could be the razor-sharp move that slices Alex Warren's lead. For those doing the math: digital sales + massive streaming + Spotify dominance + strong radio adds starting this weekend equals a serious threat for a #1 debut. Let's not ignore the elephant in the studio: 'Manchild' is a banger. It's a breathless, flirtatious slap in the face to immature men wrapped in syrupy vocals and a glossy, hyper-pop beat. It's 'thank u, next' for the Gen Z TikTok generation—but with better shoes and sharper claws. The lyrics? Savage. The delivery? Pornographicly confident. And if TikTok is any indication (over 350,000 video creations and counting), the girls, gays, and emotionally neglected situationships are all eating it up. Here's what we know. Alex Warren's 'Ordinary' has been the sleeper hit of the season, riding high on streaming and viral sentimentality. But streaming alone won't be enough to guarantee him the top spot if Sabrina keeps firing on all cylinders. If 'Manchild' continues to hold its streaming velocity and expands its sales lead through the week and if radio jumps in with last-minute spins it's entirely possible that Sabrina Carpenter could debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 next Monday. That would make her the first solo female artist to debut at #1 in 2025 a stat that's almost too poetic for a song this petty and perfect. The narrative has shifted. Sabrina isn't just the girl next door with a pretty voice she's a chart-dominating pop dominatrix, and 'Manchild' is her scorched-earth campaign against the industry's lingering doubt. Every stream, every sale, every sexy smirk in the song's viral lyric video is evidence: this woman came to conquer. So buckle up. The Hot 100 is about to get very, very interesting and Sabrina Carpenter might just be sitting at the top of it all. Popular fast-food burger chain aims major comeback amid closures
Nothing is worse than staying up late and getting hungry in the middle of the night, but having nearly no options available. Luckily, many fast-food restaurants are open late or even 24 hours, and most have value meals that make buying food too tempting to pass up. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter However, not many have an entire menu dedicated to late-night munchies. Jack in the Box introduced the first Munchie Meal in 2013 as part of its late-night menu expansion. This offering provided customers with more options packed into a value meal for an affordable price. Related: McDonald's brings back unexpected breakfast item after 6 years This addition also encouraged customers to purchase late-night meals at their local Jack in the Box rather than with the competition, aiming to increase sales during extended hours. Since its debut, the fast-food chain has launched multiple versions of the Munchie Meal and collaborations with top celebrities, including Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg. Jack in the Box (JACK) has partnered with musical artist T-Pain to launch the latest Munchie Meal collaboration. The new T-Pain Munchie Meal includes a Burg-R-Tater Melt or Chick-N-Tater Melt, a taco, medium seasoned curly fries, a Stuffed Cookie, and a small drink. This latest addition also comes with an exclusive collector's edition T-Pain air freshener. If none of the selected items appeal to your taste buds, customers can customize their own with the Build Your Own Munchie Meal, where they can choose any entrée, two sides, and a drink. The T-Pain Munchie Meal is available until July 27 at all Jack in the Box restaurants nationwide and can be ordered via the Jack app or online through the Jack in the Box website. Jack in the Box and T-Pain are rolling out "Jack Zone Wars," a Fortnite gaming experience exclusively made for this collaboration and dedicated to all gamers. Players who order a Munchie Meal on the Jack app can unlock special weapons that will give them an advantage in the game. T-Pain will also host a live-streamed Fortnite event on June 26 to join players. Jack in the Box unveiled its multi-faceted "Jack on Track" plan in April to improve its long-term financial performance by closing around 150 to 200 underperforming restaurants. "Our actions today focus on three main areas: addressing our balance sheet to accelerate cash flow and pay down debt, while preserving growth-oriented capital investments related to technology and restaurant reimage; closing underperforming restaurants to position ourselves for consistent net unit growth and competitive unit economics; and, an overall return to simplicity for the Jack in the Box business model and investor story," said Jack in the Box CEO Lance Tucker in the announcement. Jack in the Box is doing everything it can to return the business to growth, and launching a Munchie Meal that encourages customer engagement is a step closer to helping it regain its lost market share.
