On the NPE, the closure will affect the section from Kilometer (KM) 1.8 at the Kewajipan Roundabout (Subang Jaya) to KM 11 towards Bangsar, and from Kuchai Lama Entrepreneurs Park to Pantai Dalam Toll Plaza in both directions.
The Besraya closure will span from the Kuchai Lama Interchange to Jalan Pandan 1 at KM 21.9, heading towards the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) in both directions.
Wan Salwani Wan Yusoff, CEO of both highways, advised motorists to use alternative routes to avoid disruption. Information on alternative routes is available on the NPE and Besraya social media platforms.
The closure, approved by the Works Ministry (KKR) and the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), will be supported by the Royal Malaysia Police to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow.
Traffic management teams and technical staff will be deployed at strategic locations to facilitate the event.

KUALA LUMPUR: Current toll collection infrastructure must be improved to ease highway congestion ahead of the roll-out of a barrier-less collection system, said the bipartisan parliamentary Public Accounts Committee Its chairman, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, said the Works Ministry must ensure the implementation of the barrier-less toll collection system, called the Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) system, did not financially burden the government or motorists. She said this was to avoid the recurrence of issues raised in previous PAC proceedings, such as financial implications that resulted in the government making payments to highway concessionaires. "While the MLFF system may improve the flow of traffic at toll plazas, it will not comprehensively resolve traffic congestion. "Congestion appears to be caused by an insufficient number of lanes and an excessive number of vehicles at certain locations," she said in a statement today. Mas Ermieyati said any decision on the implementation of the MLFF or any future system must deliver benefits and overcome traffic congestion. She said PAC had also requested that the Works Ministry provide a written update on the progress of the MLFF system. Yesterday, Works Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Azman Ibrahim had said the earliest a barrier-less toll collection system could be implemented was in 2027. Azman had said the proposed system was still pending cabinet approval, and discussions with highway concessionaires could not proceed until a formal decision was made. Azman said that the projected 2027 timeline took into account the need for stakeholder engagement, the request-for-proposal process by concessionaires and the establishment of a regulatory body to oversee the initiative.

PETALING JAYA : The much-anticipated multi-lane free flow (MLFF) toll system may only be implemented in 2027 at the earliest, provided the Cabinet gives its approval, a works ministry official told the Public Accounts Committee. Works ministry secretary-general Azman Ibrahim said a draft of key parameters for MLFF implementation has been done, but engagement with highway concessionaires cannot begin until a Cabinet decision is made. 'We don't want them (concessionaires) turning around and accusing us of pre-empting the process. So, that's one thing,' he told the PAC during a May 20 proceeding, the transcript of which was included in the committee's latest report on the project. 'Secondly, on the implementation timeline, considering the time it will take for engagement, for the concessionaires to run a request-for-proposal process, and for us to also establish a regulatory body to oversee everything, taking all these into account, the earliest we can expect implementation is in 2027.' Azman also said the MLFF system's legal framework exists under current legislation, but additional regulations will need to be introduced to facilitate enforcement and oversight.
