Aldi to launch hot air brush that is over £37 cheaper than viral TikTok favourite

The styling tool is still a must have with over 40million views on TikTok alone. Looking to get a salon blowout from home? Then many beauty enthusiasts will recommend investing in a hot air brush. ‌ Famed for their ability to deliver smooth, voluminous styles with minimal effort, there's no wonder why the styling tool still remains hot property with over a staggering 40million views on TikTok alone. ‌ Now Aldi is joining the current hair craze trend by announcing that its very own Hot Air Brush is set to land in its middle aisle section very soon, and it will save over £37 compared to a bestseller on the market. ‌ Arriving as part of its popular Specialbuys selection on Thursday, August 21, the supermarket's hair styler will come with a price-tag of just £12.99, making it one of the cheapest options on the market. Before we get into Aldi's styling tool, it's worth noting that it is reminiscent of the TikTok-loved Revlon Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumiser that is said to be so popular it has sold over two million units. With the bestselling branded tool often costing £50 at many retailers on the high street, the budget grocer's own version will allow beauty fans join in on the trend with a decent saving of £37.01. In fact, our own Fashion & Beauty Writer Rachel Williams got her hands on the viral brush back in 2023 and confirmed it was "a game-changer for people who struggle with hair styling." Sharing how it helped her transform her flat hair with some extra volume, she said: "It is an ideal hair tool for those who are looking to save some time, while still achieving shiny hair with a bit of a boost without needing to spend money on a trip to the hairdressers." ‌ As for Aldi's upcoming Hot Air Brush, it looks to be boasting a very similar large, round-barrel shape design that will help to lift the hair from the roots to create that enviable bounce. Said to be suitable to use on wet and dry hair, alongside long and short styles, the Hot Air Brush will feature 360-degree airflow and a swivel cord, making it "the perfect fuss-free solution for flawless, wedding-day waves or sleek, photo-ready locks." ‌ Similar to the Revlon brush, it also comes with large bristles that will glide through the hair, making it suitable for smoothing, detangling and giving extra volume all at the same time. While we are sure that the Hot Air Brush will catch the eye of many hair enthusiasts, it's not the only styling tool that will be landing in stores next week. ‌ Also arriving in the Specialbuys aisle on August 21 will be the returning Ionic Hairdryer for £12.99, with the styling tool becoming a bestseller among shoppers looking for a budget friendly option that will still protect their precious tresses. Available in a choice of yellow, orange, black or white, the much-loved hairdryer comes complete with three heat settings and two speed settings to personalise the styling routine, while a cool shot helps to set styles in place. To get a salon-quality finish from home, it will come complete with a concentrator and a diffuser attachment. Aldi's Hot Air Brush and Ionic Hairdryer will land in stores from Thursday, August 21. However, as with all Specialbuys, shoppers need to act fast, as once they are gone, they are gone.

'Three small changes to my weekly routine save me £1,500 each year'

The 'small' lifestyle changes have helped one mum to save upwards of £1,500 per year A money-savvy mum has shared how making three 'small' changes to her weekly routine helps her to save over £1,500 every year. TikTok user @mumonabudgetuk is a mum-of-two who regularly posts about her life and finances, sharing videos explaining how her family saves money and sticks to their budget. ‌ In a new post, @mumonabudgetuk revealed how making a few lifestyle changes each week has helped her save money, as the seemingly small expenses quickly add up. She explained: "Here are three things I stopped buying during the week to help me save over £1,500 per year. ‌ "I'm sure a lot of you can relate to this one, but first up is takeaway coffees. This used to cost me about £10 per week, so I invested in a travel cup and now make sure I take one with me every morning, which saves me about £500 a year alone." ‌ The TikTok user added: "On top of coffees, I would also buy a £4 meal deal nearly every day, which adds up to about £1,000 per year. Finally, I made sure I stayed away from lunchtime shopping as I could easily spend £4 or £5 on a candle every week. These small cuts have saved me £1,500 a year." In her caption, the savvy saver added that her tips weren't centred around restricting her spending but rather about being more intentional with her spending. She explained: "Not about going without, just about being intentional." The video gained thousands of views and hundreds of likes, with comments praising the tips in the comment section. Someone wrote: "Mad how much meal deals can add up to without realising," and the content creator replied: "The saving definitely outweighs the convenience." For those who enjoy takeaway coffees and lunches, it's worth shopping around for deals and offers to save money. Many cafes offer lunchtime deals, or you could pick up a discounted meal toward the end of the day. Money Saving Expert advises: "It's always worth trying your luck at restaurants and cafés near closing time – for example, half an hour before Itsu closes, all of its sushi and salads are often at half-price. ‌ "There's no discount code to claim, it's more a case of whatever's left at the end of the day needs to go and the pricing is at the discretion of each store. Wasabi also runs a similar promotion called 'No time to waste', again with 50% off towards the end of the day. "Another alternative is First Table, a restaurant booking platform which offers 50% off your food bill when you book the first table at breakfast, lunch or dinner at participating restaurants. "It's available in most big cities (including Brighton, Cardiff, Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh and Liverpool to name a few) and participating restaurants will list their first tables up to seven days in advance. Note though, there is often a booking fee between £4 and £8."
