JULIAN Brown is an inventor and influencer who rose to prominence for creating a device that he claims converts plastic waste into usable fuels.
He hit the headlines in July 2025 after suddenly disappearing from social media, raising concerns among his followers and climate activism communities.

Julian Brown is renowned for his work in the energy field, but he has been inactive online since 9 July 2025, after posting a worrying video where he claimed he was in danger.
"Something is happening, keep me in your prayers please. SCREEN RECORD THIS. I don't know," Julian captioned the clip, which showed him inside a vehicle.
"I'm certainly under attack. I can't go into so much detail," he added.
Days before his last video, Julian shared another alarming message claiming that a "secret helicopter" had found him in the middle of "nowhere".
Despite his inactivity on social media and troubling final post, Julian's mother Nia has now debunked the speculation that her son is missing.
On July 28, 2025, Nia told the Daily Mail: 'I can confirm Julian is safe but in the best interest of his security I'm not able to provide any more information.'
Atlanta police also confirmed that the agency is not currently looking for a missing person matching Julian's information.
"I can confirm that the Atlanta Police Department is not currently investigating any missing persons by that name," the police department told The U.S. Sun.
Who is Julian Brown?
Julian Brown is a 21-year-old scientist from Atlanta with 1.8 million Instagram followers.
He is best known for inventing Plastoline — a device that he claims converts plastic waste into usable fuels such as gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
The invention uses a process called microwave pyrolysis, a technology that heats plastic in the absence of oxygen to break it down chemically into fuel.
Julian began developing this technology during high school, teaching himself the necessary science without a formal engineering education.
He has a background in welding, which helped him construct prototypes for Plastoline, using salvaged and homemade parts powered by solar energy.
Julian gained significant public attention and amassed millions of followers by sharing instructional videos and updates on his project.

in November 2024, Julian told Canvas Rebel: "Turning plastic to fuel with reactors has been done before, however, I have been working to innovate utilizing microwaves to turn plastic into fuel.
"To date, there is a very niche application of microwave pyrolysis technology at any industrial and continuous operation scales - that is my goal and mission.
"I am most proud of taking the leap of faith into a innovation that is very dangerous, and doing all of the unseen hard work and labor necessary to further this technology."
Brown added, "I want everyone to know that we are all capable of solving a world problem, no matter the scale.
"We are all seeds full of potential and amazing fears, but our potential must be watered and fertilized into reality with strong faith, hard work and experience."
He founded a startup called NatureJab to further develop and scale Plastoline, also launching a GoFundMe campaign to raise $1 million to fund commercial-scale production.
On July 29, 2025, Julian's 'Support Solar-Powered Plastic to Fuel Invention' appeal for donations has so far raised $30,897.

Melbourne woman Sally said she was expecting a parcel from a small pet business in Queensland, but had to leave her home to visit her terminally ill grandmother. In a stunning twist, she said she ordered a replacement and the same Australia Post worker later delivered her the package and threw it at her. 'It was a bit scary, I wasn't expecting the delivery man to come to our house to confront me over his wrongdoing!' she told Daily Mail. An Australia Post spokesman said the postal service 'takes customer concerns of this nature very seriously'. 'We are currently investigating this matter with the local delivery team and will update the customer in the coming days,' he said. Sally shared her experience on Reddit, claiming Australia Post told her that her first package would be taken to a local post office if no one was home. 'All good, except it was "delivered" whilst we were away. I came home and there was no sign of our parcel, so I went to the local post office to see what was going on,' she wrote. At her local post office, Sally learnt a delivery man had signed for the parcel on her behalf and left it at her door. Unsurprisingly, the package was stolen. The clerk at the Australia Post office urged Sally to lodge an online complaint, which she did. 'Literally two days later that delivery man came to my door while I was home and asked me why I'd submitted a complaint,' she said. 'I told him he'd fraudulently signed on my behalf and his actions had led to my parcel being stolen. He tried looking into my house, probably to see if I'd stashed it. 'I was fuming. It seemed so inappropriate, and I'd been afraid something like this would happen if I complained.' Sally shared a screenshot of an email sent by Australia Post, informing her the company was investigating the incident. 'The facility has confirmed the delivery officer did not follow property delivery procedures,' the email read. 'Management has since taken interest in this incident and have since spoken to the delivery officer in question, in regards to delivery procedures and to ensure proper delivery practices are performed for future deliveries.' Australia Post urged Sally to contact the small business to help organise a replacement parcel. However, she claimed the service didn't offer to help cover the cost. 'My replacement order came yesterday and it was the same delivery man!' Sally wrote in an update on Saturday. 'He literally threw my parcel at me as soon as I opened the door! 'I've lodged another complaint with Australia Post, and have lodged two separate complaints to the ombudsman for the fraudulent signature, and for turning up to my house and using my private details in an improper way.' Christopher Leggat, 44, verbally and violently abused Cara Leggat, 42, between September 2022 and November 2024. Leggat made current managing director Cara's life hell as their now 12-year marriage broke down. He repeatedly slapped his estranged partner and later pushed her into a kitchen cabinet which caused her an injury. Leggat wished his wife dead notably after he was unhappy about a water bottle he received as a birthday present. He also attempted to stop Cara from seeing her dad - company chairman Fred Laing and mum Catherine Laing, both 74. Brave Cara finally reported matters to the police having initially been scared that a conviction would affect Leggat's job prospects. Unemployed Leggat was found guilty in June of engaging in a course of behaviour which was abusive to his partner or ex-partner. Sheriff Allan McKay told him at today's sentencing: "On some level these are an incredibly sad set of circumstances. "This offer of a community payback order is a direct alternative to custody. "If you breach it and don't see it through, you will find yourself going to prison." The Glasgow Sheriff Court trial heard that Leggat and Cara were married in 2013 and worked together at the firm. She recalled that in October 2022 she had made a re-heated sausage casserole dinner for the pair. Leggat told her to serve a "better looking meal" which he said was suitable for a child and called her names. Leggat told wife 'I hope you die in your sleep' The next incident took place in January 2023 as a result of Leggat's birthday plans. She said: "He was most aggrieved and disappointed at a lack of effort to mark his birthday in terms of a meal out. "He also didn't rate his presents which included a sports water bottle that I bought him." The water bottle - said to have been made famous on TikTok - was deemed "childish and ridiculous" by Leggat. Leggat is then told Cara: "I hope you die in your sleep." How you can get help Women's Aid has this advice for victims and their families: Always keep your phone nearby. Familiarise yourself with the Silent Solution, reporting abuse without speaking down the phone, instead dialing '55'. Always keep some money on you, including change for a pay phone or bus fare. If you suspect your partner is about to attack you, try to go to a lower-risk area of the house – for example, where there is a way out and access to a telephone. Avoid the kitchen and garage, where there are likely to be knives or other weapons. Avoid rooms where you might become trapped, such as the bathroom, or where you might be shut into a cupboard or other small space. The pair were given hospitality tickets to Hampden Park in February 2023 for an Old Firm League Cup Final clash. Cara stated that when they walked home after the match and she was pushed into a bush by Leggat She said: "I ended up in a bush or my back against a bush as a result of the force as a result of the slap to my face." When asked how she felt about the incident, Cara replied that it was "upsetting." Leggat "discouraged" Cara to see her parents which also included a curfew which made her "twitch" when it was close. "I ended up in a bush or my back against a bush as a result of the force as a result of the slap to my face." Prosecutor Siobhan Currie said in her closing submissions: "Ultimately, there was a pattern of behaviour to isolate her." Leggat was lastly violent towards her in November 2024 at the family home in the city's Pollokshields. Leggat slapped her on the forehead and pushed her into a kitchen cabinet which resulted in a thigh injury. Cara told the court that she called her mother and father after the incident and Fred attended their home. The court heard that Fred confronted Leggat and "grabbed him by the scruff of the neck." Fred then got his daughter to contact the police which led to Leggat's arrest later that night. Miss Currie asked Cara why she did not contact the police on an earlier occasion. She replied: "I knew he wanted to stay in the Scottish whisky industry. "From my knowledge he would find it hard to get into the USA and Singapore which are key places in the industry. "I didn't want the man not to get an international job." Leggat, now of Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, told the court in his evidence that he left the company in 2023 with Cara taking over his role. Duncan McPhie, defending, told the sentencing: "My client admits, accepts and regrets the behaviour. "He is remorseful and regretful and he is sorry. "In all the circumstances, he tenders his apologies to the court. "It is probably too late to apologise to his victim, but he has asked me to apologise the behaviour he was convicted of."
