Anganwadi workers stage protest seeking withdrawal of FRS
Addressing the gathering, union honorary president K. Venkatalakshmi said that the implementation of face recognition system (FRS) was causing problems to the anganwadi workers and the State government was not responding to their pleas. Similarly, the 'Poshan Tracker' and 'Bala Sanjeevani' apps were giving mental tension to the workers as they were not trained on how to use the apps nor were they provided good quality mobile phones.
The anganwadi workers were also not being given the benefits of various welfare schemes as they were not considered as government employees. She said that the government was aware that anganwadi workers were not government employees, but was doing injustice to them by not implementing schemes like 'Thalliki Vandanam'. The government also failed to issue G.O. regarding 'minis' (anganwadi workers working in mini centres), she added.
Union honorary president Mani, general secretary Devi, leaders Padma, Sridevi, Shoba, Eswaramma, Tulasi, Chinnamalu and Suryakala were among those who participated. The leaders presented a memorandum of their demands to the Nodal Officer Jhansi after the protest.

Pastor held under Pocso for assaulting five minor girls
CHENNAI: A 53-year-old pastor was arrested by the Red Hills police on Thursday for allegedly assaulting five minor girls, aged 10 and 11, over the past few months. The victims were students who had come for tuition conducted by his wife, an Anganwadi teacher, at their house. Under the guise of helping his wife with teaching, the pastor allegedly assaulted the girls, the police said. The accused, Kamaraj alias Victor, ran a prayer house in his neighbourhood in Red Hills. For the past several months, his wife had been conducting tuition for the kids from the locality and more than 10 students would come to their house in the evenings every day, the police said. On Wednesday, one of the girls told her parents about the assault and they lodged a police complaint.

All set for launch of ‘Annadata Sukhibhava' at Darsi today
Darsi: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will launch the PM Kisan- Annadatha Sukhibhava programme, to directly deposit Rs 7,000 in the bank accounts of beneficiary farmers across the state, at Turpu Veerayapalem near Darsi on Saturday. According to the tour schedule, Naidu will reach Darsi by helicopter by 10:45 am, and the venue at Turpu Veerayapalem by 11:00 am. At around 1:15 pm, he concludes the meeting of PM Kisan- Annadatha Sukhibhava, and meets the cadre between 1:50 pm and 2:50 pm at Darsi. He will fly back from Darsi at 3:00 pm to reach Undavalli by 3:35 PM to proceed with other engagements. On Friday, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Social Welfare Minister Dr Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Markapuram MLA Kandula Narayana Reddy, Giddalur MLA Muthumula Ashok Reddy, Kanigiri MLA Dr Mukku Ugranarasimha Reddy, Darsi TDP in-charge Gottipati Lakshmi, and others visited the 'Annadatha Sukhibhava' programme venue at Turpu Veerayapalem and inspected the helipad and venue arrangements. Speaking to the media, Minister Gottipati emphasised the government's commitment to development and welfare. He highlighted the implementation of election promises, including increased pensions, free gas cylinders under the Deepam scheme, and Thalliki Vandanam funds for all students in families. The minister announced that free bus travel for women will begin on August 15. One lakh new widow pensions under the spouse category were distributed statewide on Friday. He said that CM Chandrababu Naidu will launch the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, crediting Rs 7000 each to 4685838 farmers' accounts in the first phase, with central government cooperation.
