All you need to know about Allu Arjun's arrest in 2024 On December 4, 2024, a stampede at Hyderabad's Sandhya Theatre resulted in the death of 39-year-old Revathi and left her son, Sri Teja, critically injured. Authorities attributed the tragedy to an uncontrolled rush of fans attempting to enter the venue to catch a glimpse of actor Allu Arjun. Police reported that they were not informed in advance about the attendance of the Pushpa 2 team, leading to a lack of proper crowd control measures. Following the incident, Allu Arjun, his security team, and the Sandhya Theatre management were charged under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), relating to culpable homicide not amounting to murder and voluntarily causing hurt. All parties were arrested on December 13. The actor spent one night in custody before being granted regular bail by a Hyderabad court. As part of the bail conditions, the Nampally court required Allu Arjun to submit two sureties of Rs 50,000 each. He returned home to his wife and Sneha Reddy and kids the next morning. Few days later, on December 24, the actor held a press conference where he publicly reacted to the incident and spoke about the character assassination and humiliation he and his family had to face all throughout. He had further clarified the 'misinformation" that was being spread about him. Soon after, the matter was put to rest. First Published:

‘If he was asked by captain, selectors….' Former Aussie skipper believes Virat Kohli can come out of Test retirement

It has not been a month since Virat Kohli announced his Test retirement. Earlier this week, the 36-year-old Indian batsman had termed winning the IPL title with Royal Challengers Bengaluru still 'five levels under Test cricket', and former Australian captain Michael Clarke believes Kohli will come out of Test retirement if the Shubman Gill led Indian team gets beaten badly in the upcoming England Five Test series. 'I believe this. If India go to England and get flogged, if they lose the series 5-0 for example, I think the fans will want Virat Kohli to come out of retirement and play Test cricket again. And I honestly, I think if he was asked by the captain, selectors and supported by fans, if they get beaten big time in England, I think he'll come. He still loves Test cricket. I think his words, I think those words, like you could hear his passion for Test cricket is real,' Clarke told Beyond23 Cricket podcast on Friday. While Shubman Gill was appointed as the Test captain last month, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had announced their Test retirements weeks prior to the team announcement. Kohli finished his career with 9,230 runs in 123 Test matches, Sharma played in 67 Tests amassing 4,301 runs. Kohli had scored 657 runs in this year's IPL winning the title with Royal Challengers Bengaluru and was the third highest scorer in IPL this year. Clarke sees Kohli in fine form but also reiterated that the Shubman Gill led Indian Test team can beat England in the five match Test series. 'He (Virat) sees it as the pinnacle and he's still playing good enough cricket. He definitely made the decision to retire and whatever his reasons are, everybody comes to that time in their career. If that's the case, then so be it. But if they don't perform, if they get beaten, like I say, 5-0 in England, which I don't think they will. I think they can still win in England, even without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. I think this Indian squad is a good squad.' added Clarke. Post winning the IPL, Kohli had shared how he sees winning the IPL title being five levels under Test cricket. 'This moment (the IPL win) is right up there with the best moments I've had in my career, but it's still marks five levels under Test cricket. That's how much I value Test cricket. That's how much I love Test cricket. I would just urge youngsters coming through to treat that format with respect. If you perform in Test cricket, you walk around anywhere in the world, people look you in the eye, shake your hand and say 'Well done, you played the game really well. If you want to earn respect in world cricket all over, take up Test cricket, give your heart and soul to it and earn the respect from legends,' Kohli had told Star Sports post the win.
