😅 Fenerbahçe have a familiar face to thank for opening UEL goal

Fenerbahçe were in the driving seat heading into their return leg against Anderlecht, and doubled their advantage through a familiar face.
That came just minutes into the game, when an awful backpass was seized upon by Edin Dzeko, who in turn fed Youssef En-Nesyri to slot home.
The Moroccan, who is on a rich run of scoring form, made no mistake to grab his 18th goal in his last 14 games, including a week ago in the first leg.
Since then, the game has been interrupted due to fighting in the stands.
Can Anderlecht find a way back?

Ait-Nouri, Reijnders to join Man City for Club World Cup

Manchester City are close to a double swoop for Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait-Nouri in time for the Club World Cup, according to reports on Thursday. Wolves left-back Ait-Nouri is expected to complete a £34 million ($45 million) move to the Etihad Stadium over the weekend, Sky Sports reported. Advertisement An initial £46 million deal for Dutch midfielder Reijnders has been agreed with AC Milan, along with add-ons potentially taking the transfer to £59 million. City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak promised last week to conduct "swift" transfer business in order to give Pep Guardiola's men the best chance of winning the Club World Cup. Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki could also be signed in time for the tournament in the United States as negotiations between City and the French club are ongoing. City will face Moroccan side Wydad AC and Emirati club Al Ain before a clash of European heavyweights with Juventus in the group stage, which kicks off on June 14. Advertisement After missing out on a major trophy in the recently completed season for the first time since 2016/17, City are hoping to bounce back quickly with a major overhaul of Guardiola's squad. They also spent more than £172 million in January on Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Nico Gonzalez. The raft of new arrivals, however, could spell the end of England winger Jack Grealish's City career. Grealish, who remains City's record signing after a £100 million move from Aston Villa in 2021, will reportedly be left out of Guardiola's 35-man squad for the Club World Cup. kca/smg/ea

Real Madrid want to sign Moroccan wonderkid for free, ready to fast-track him through youth ranks

Real Madrid want to sign Moroccan wonderkid for free, ready to fast-track him through youth ranks According to a recent update from Mario Cortegana, it has come to light that Real Madrid are working on a move to sign 16-year-old Ajax sensation Abdellah Ouazane and are so impressed by his potential that they plan to place him directly into the U19 setup, skipping the U17 level entirely. Ouazane, one of the brightest prospects in the famed Ajax academy, has already made his mark in the Dutch club's U19 side this season. Advertisement Despite his young age, the forward has notched three goals in just four appearances, a feat that has caught the attention of scouts and analysts across Europe, including those at Valdebebas. Real Madrid are heavily impressed Although the move is not complete yet, reports suggest that there is strong optimism within the Real Madrid camp that a deal can be reached. Interestingly, it has also been learned that Ouazane's contract with Ajax runs down in June and Real Madrid intend to sign him on a free transfer. While it was initially unclear whether Ouazane would join Juvenil A (U19) or Castilla (Real Madrid B), Cortegana now affirms that the player would be slotted directly into the U19s, highlighting the high regard in which he is held by the club. Advertisement Real Madrid have already established contact with the Ajax hierarchy and are exploring how best to structure a deal that would bring Ouazane to Spain. As a result, there is enough confidence in Madrid that the transfer will go through. For now, what is certain is that there has been contact between the parties involved. For someone who was named best player at the African Under-17 Cup and has also played for the Netherlands Under-15 team, Real Madrid's interest is legit and a deal could be finalised soon.
