Much-loved Emmerdale legend attacked as Joe Tate revenge goes wrong
Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) is desperate to prove to Kim Tate (Claire King) that he can be trusted. This is a big ask, given that only a short while ago in Emmerdale he was planning to drug her to help Crowley (James Hillier) steal all of her money.
In coming episodes he's putting plans in motion to get Moira (Natalie J Robb)'s land to help build Kim's empire, but a beloved local resident ends up getting caught in the crossfire.
Moira's farm is hanging in the balance after the disaster when slurry was released from the farm and contaminated the lake. Facing a very hefty fine, Moira fears she could lose her business altogether.
Joe has been trying to take advantage of this predicament to get her to sign the land over to Kim. Kim herself has gone to Dubai, leaving the deal in Joe's hands and he knows this could be his one big chance to prove that he's someone she can depend on to get the job done.
In upcoming episodes he warns Moira that he'll do whatever it takes to get their land, leaving Moira and Cain (Jeff Hordley) fuming. They try to reassure Kyle (Huey Quinn) and Isaac (Bobby Dunsmuir) that they won't lose their home, but secretly they're worried.
Later the boys hear a noise in the barn and investigate. They're shocked to see two masked teenagers inside, one of whom is April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan)'s friend Dylan (Fred Kettle).
Kyle and Isaac are so shocked and frightened by discovering the masked teens that Kyle arms himself with a pitchfork and accidentally stabs Dylan in the leg before Moira arrives and scares the intruders away.
Cain is convinced that Joe has put the teenagers up to this and it's part of his plan to harass them into giving up the land, and he reacts in traditional Cain style by wanting to go out and get instant revenge on Joe. Moira insists that they call the police instead, and PC Swirling (Andy Moore) duly turns up to investigate.
He can't find anything to pin the incident on Joe, who naturally denies any involvement. Moira is seething with anger and frustration and goes to hit Joe. Unfortunately her back-hander accidentally catches poor Lydia (Karen Blick) instead. Bless her, missing for months and returns only to get walloped.
'Lydia jumps in front of her and gets punched in the ear which is quite horrific,' Natalie J Robb told us. 'I'm devastated that it's Lydia of all people. This is bound to cause more trouble between the Dingles.'

Cain is worried that Lydia will press charges and has a word with her – and Sam is upset to think that Cain is issuing threats to Lydia. More Trending
'Sam doesn't like the fact that Lydia was threatened,' Natalie observed.
'I'm saying to Cain, 'You didn't threaten her, did you?' and he's like, 'No, not at all,' but obviously he does and it all comes out. It just makes things worse, so [Sam and Lydia are] not talking to us at the moment.

Dianne Buswell ready to step away from Strictly as she reveals baby plans
Reigning Strictly Come Dancing champion Dianne Buswell shares dreams for the future with her long-term love Joe Sugg and their plans to start a family Dancing is at the centre of everything for Dianne Buswell – it's where she made her name and found the love of her life. But the Strictly Come Dancing professional says she's prepared to waltz away for a while to start a family with partner, podcaster and YouTuber Joe Sugg. The pair met on the 2018 series of the BBC show after being paired together and romance blossomed away from the bright lights and the cameras once their stint had ended. Dianne, 36, has opened up about their family plans as she shares what made her fall for Joe, 33. 'It wasn't until the show ended that we realised we missed each other's company a lot – our relationship went from there,' she explained. 'We always got on, he was so funny to me, and I loved how creative he was. We've always wanted kids, it's just finding the right time. I don't feel worried about taking time out from dancing, I just don't see the point in worrying. When everything aligns, it will happen. I have to have that vision. I like to practise manifestation, I'm quite spiritual.' The couple live in Brighton, where they share a £3.5million mansion. They've long been open about their desire to start a family. Dianne recently had to deny suggestions the pair had got engaged after speculation grew online after she was spotted wearing a ring on her wedding finger. Grilled on Good Morning Britain by Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, she explained how some of her fingers had swollen up after a flight, so she moved rings from her right to her left hand. 'I was taking pictures with my family and I put them online so everyone thought I was engaged,' she recalled. 'I'm not engaged.' Joe may not have got down on bended knee, but their relationship is going from strength to strength, with Joe beginning to enjoy some of Dianne's passions. 'Joe laughs at me because I'm always investing in the latest wellness product," tells Dianne. "It's a big passion. I have an ice bath at home. I can get a bit anxious but cold-water therapy calms me down. I'm so proud of Joe – he never knew about any of this wellness stuff, but he's enjoying it. He loves the ice bath. He does it more than me, to be honest.' Since joining Strictly in 2017, Australian pro dancer Dianne has been putting her body through hours of gruelling rehearsals day after day, so she has to look after herself. 'There's only so much you can give before you need to recharge," says Dianne. "In this line of work, we're giving, giving, giving, because we want people to have the best time, but there comes a point when you need to give yourself time and space. I need moments of quiet and calm.' A self-confessed 'homebody', Dianne loves a night in as much as a showbiz party. 'I'm okay being in my own company. At a party, I'm not the loudest one in the room by any stretch of the imagination.' She shares her home life with fans on social media – she and Joe have built up a huge following through their daily vlogs. Dianne says it's helped show people the 'real' her. 'I always wanted my YouTube channel and the podcast [Winning Isn't Everything] to be as raw as possible,' she tells Prima magazine. 'First thing in the morning, I'll vlog and show the real me, who hasn't been in hours of hair and make-up. It comes with age and becoming more confident in yourself as a person. "When I was younger, I used to be self-conscious and would never step outside unless I had a full face of make-up on. It's no longer about looks, it's about how I feel and what I feel. That's why I'm so honest – if I can help at least one or two people, then I feel like my job's done.' As Strictly's reigning champion after her historic win with blind comedian Chris McCausland, 48, last year, Dianne is preparing to line up with another celebrity for the new series, with the professional dancers rehearsing already ahead of the show starting in September. But she and Chris do the Winning podcast together, and she says he changed her outlook on life – and she doesn't feel as much pressure any more. 'I feel just as excited as any other year, and I've put no expectations on myself,' she insists. 'Last year taught me it's not about perfection. I used to think of winning, winning, winning, but the past few years, it hasn't been about that at all – maybe that comes with age and maturity. 'Chris and I could have left at any point and would have gone thinking we'd won anyway. It doesn't feel like a competition any more. I taught him a lot, but he taught me just as much. "Chris has allowed me to be more of the character that I naturally am. I don't feel pressure to be the world 's best dancer as I get older – you don't need to be a world champion to be a great Strictly professional. It's a mixed bag of stuff, like being able to communicate with someone as a teacher.' She is looking forward to reuniting with friend and fellow pro Amy Dowden, 34, who returned to the show in the last series after breast cancer but had to pull out after a foot injury. Dianne said: 'She's a tough cookie. I've never met anyone who loves dancing so much, she lives and breathes it and for that to be taken away from her for a period was so upsetting. But she is back 100%, thriving and full of life.'

Strictly's Dianne Buswell opens up on her future baby plans with boyfriend Joe Sugg and reveals why she's not worried about taking a break from her career to have children
has opened up on her future baby plans with boyfriend Joe Sugg. The dancer, 36, and her YouTuber partner, 33, struck up a romance when they were paired together during the sixteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2018. And after seven years together, Dianne discussed the possibility of starting a family with Joe as she revealed why she's 'not worried' about taking a break from her career to have children. Speaking in a new interview with Prima, the Australian native said of their romance: 'When Joe and I met, it wasn't until the show ended that we realised we missed each other's company a lot – our relationship went from there. We always got on, he was so funny to me, and I loved how creative he was.' On starting a family, she continued: 'We've always wanted kids, it's just finding the right time. I don't feel worried about taking time out from dancing, I just don't see the point in worrying. When everything aligns, it will happen. I have to have that vision. I like to practise manifestation, I'm quite spiritual.' The professional dancer went on to reveal what it's like having a relationship in the public eye. She noted: 'Joe and I forget we're famous sometimes – when we're out and about, we'll be like, "Why are they looking at us? Ah, okay, I remember." It doesn't feel that difficult to have a relationship in the public eye – we're good at not taking notice of things that are written about us.' She added that thing can get 'hard' when it comes to privacy, especially when people are 'obsessed' with finding out personal details about the pair such as their address. It comes after Dianne previously revealed all on her future family plans with her partner Joe amid both their hectic schedules. The flame-haired beauty teased her baby plans in an interview in May as she got involved with a campaign for the children's show Bluey for which she is creating a new dance along YouTube series. She told The Mirror: 'I was always the babysitter for all my little cousins – I've always been a real lover of children. They fascinate me so much.' Speaking of her new series of Bluey Dance alongs she added: 'I always think that in the future, if I was to have my own kids, that they would be able to potentially watch this. 'It plays at the back of my mind and that's pretty cool.' Meanwhile, earlier that month she revealed she's desperate to have children - but admitted the gruelling demands of her showbiz career are delaying her dreams of becoming a mum. The star, who lifted the Glitterball Trophy last year, revealed that time spent with her nieces and nephews over Christmas triggered serious baby fever. The September 2025 issue of Prima is now on sale Dianne told The Sun: 'I would like to have children, 100 per cent. 'Joe and I love kids, and that's definitely something that we would absolutely love. I haven't really thought about how many I would like. It will definitely happen.' The couple, who live in a £3.5million home in Brighton, have been flooded with baby chat recently, but say their hectic schedules are the biggest hurdle. At the time, Dianne was preparing to hit the road for a 30-date UK tour with fellow Strictly dancer Vito Coppola, while also promoting a new podcast with 2023 partner Chris McCausland. The pro dancer admitted juggling motherhood and a performance career would be 'a challenge' but insisted it's something both she and Joe are excited about. She said: 'My job is quite demanding and I love it so much. 'It is a tough one to balance out and think about. It would take a lot of thought, but eventually one day we'll get there, but there is lots happening at the moment. It will happen when it's supposed to.'

Katy Perry enjoys cosy dinner date with Justin Trudeau after Orlando Bloom split
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Up Next Previous Page Next Page In a plot twist no one expected, Katy Perry has been filmed enjoying a cosy dinner with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau weeks after she and Orlando Bloom called it a day on their relationship. The Fireworks singer, 40 and Trudeau, 53, looked deep in conversation at Montreal's Le Violon restaurant in a short video. In the clip, filmed by an onlooker, Katy can be seen leaning in to hear Trudeau over a table in the Canadian city, as she smiled with her dark hair down, while the politician wore a brown jacket. Alongside the video of their dinner obtained by Daily Mail, TMZ also report the pair headed out earlier in the evening to have a few drinks on the terrace at Taverne Atlantic. Le Violon chef Danny Smiles told the US outlet there was no PDA when he served them. It's not clear whether the pair are romantically involved, or just enjoying a casual dinner together while Katy is on the Canadian leg of her Lifetimes Tour. While the Lord of the Rings actor, 48, and the popstar never tied the knot, they got engaged in 2019 and share a four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. In a joint statement issued to US media outlets in July, representatives for the couple said the pair 'have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting'. 'They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect,' it continued. Sources claimed that the former couple 'had to admit' they would be better parents to their daughter if they weren't a couple. 'They are there for Daisy and have been,' added the source. 'They want to keep a friendly relationship so each can be around her separately or together.' While Bloom has posted cryptic messages on social media about 'new beginnings' since, Katy has ditched her engagement ring on public outings. Meanwhile, Trudeau announced his resignation in January after 10 years in power ahead of a major election, as opposition grew following a series of by-election defeats. Got a story?
