UP Congress chief hits out at PM Modi on 11 years of governance, says
Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 11 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Congress President, Ajay Rai, on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that while the party looks forward to development in 2047, they should focus on today instead.
'They (BJP) talk about 2047, but you (BJP) have to talk about today. Today, people do not have jobs, and all businesses have closed down,' the UP Congress president told ANI.
He also criticised the Prime Minister for various scams, particularly highlighting the scams in temple's prasad, claiming that adulterated prasad has come from Gujarat, the state where Modi was Chief Minister.
'Gujarat's company works in Ayodhya, too. There has been a scam in prasads too. Prasads are also coming from Gujarat.' Rai also said that people of Varanasi should be getting jobs too, as they have voted for PM Modi.
Earlier on Tuesday, UP deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said that India has seen transformative growth in sectors like infrastructure, space, and medical sciences, and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for lifting 25 crore people out of poverty while advancing the vision of 'Integral Humanism' for a developed nation.
Speaking to ANI, Pathak said, 'Over the past decade, India has witnessed a transformative shift across various sectors -- from infrastructure development to advancements in space and medical sciences. Nearly 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty.
To commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 11 years in office, the Narendra Modi App or NaMo App has launched the 'Jan Man Survey.'
The survey quickly gained significant traction, with over 5 lakh responses from citizens across India in a single day. This unique survey is designed to engage people actively in the democratic process, empowering them to express their opinions on key national issues and government initiatives. Announced by Prime Minister Modi through X, the Jan Man Survey allows people to share their feedback and opinions with the government directly. (ANI)

New Delhi: Besides the 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' pledge, the goal and vision of achieving 'Digital India' is beginning to realise as this forms the core of governance of the incumbent dispensation. The digital revolution, which began 11 years ago, is entrenched in almost every policy-making and public welfare scheme delivery with elaborate plans on how to bring benefits to the poor, downtrodden and marginalised sections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to the social media platform X on Thursday and wrote about "leveraging the power of technology in bringing innumerable benefits for people". "Service delivery and transparency have been greatly boosted. Technology has become a means of empowering the lives of the poorest of the poor," he further said. The Digital India initiative, launched by PM Modi in his first term, has gone on to reshape the way the country has grown and developed in the past decade. The governance has become transparent and accessible for every citizen, while it has also unlocked massive opportunities for the common citizen. Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) marks one of the biggest hallmarks of the Modi government as it ensured seamless and leakage-free delivery of public welfare funds and schemes to crores of poor households. Today, the villages have access to internet services, while the digital payment system is also reaching the rural belts. Today, there are more than 322 schemes across 56 ministries covered under the DBT. More than Rs 44 lakh crore has been transferred directly into the accounts of beneficiaries, while Rs 3.48 lakh crore has been saved by cutting out leakages and preventing middlemen. In the past ten years, there has been a 90-fold increase in DBT transfers, marking a new era of public welfare delivery, laced with speed and transparency. Aadhaar – a unique identity of every citizen is powering the country's digital identity revolution. Today, every citizen of the 140-crore population has a unique 12-digit Aadhaar number. Aadhaar authentication transactions have crossed 150 billion mark. DigiLocker, an application that facilitates document storage online, has given strong impetus to paperless governance. As per official estimates, there are more than 52 crore registered Digilocker users in the country, with over 852 crore documents issued. Under the Jeevan Pramaan yojana, technology was harnessed to bring dignity to human lives. Jeevan Praman Patra has simplified life for pensioners by providing hassle-free digital life certificates. Today, more than 10 crore pensioners are registered, which means they no longer need to visit banks for giving "life certificates" in person. More than 143 lakh 'Digital Life Certificates' have been submitted since November 2024. UMANG App has been instrumental in converging all government services on one platform. It has become a single digital gateway for accessing more than 2,000 services across various government departments. As per records, there are over 8.21 crore registered users, with over 597 crore transactions.

Ayodhya turning into liquor hub
New Delhi: In a scathing attack on the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government, the Congress party on Thursday alleged that the religious sanctity of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, has been compromised by the unchecked proliferation of liquor shops. The party also accused the state administration of concealing the actual death toll during the Kumbh Mela stampede. Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai said that Ayodhya, considered a holy city by millions of Hindus, has been turned into a liquor hub under the current government, despite its claims of being the custodian of Lord Ram's legacy. Rai disclosed that an 'umpteen number of liquor shops' have been opened throughout Ayodhya, and presented video evidence from a prominent YouTube news channel to back his claim. The report showed alcohol being sold in nearly every corner of the city. This, Rai pointed out, was in clear violation of the Municipal Corporation's ban on the sale and supply of liquor within a 13-kilometre radius of the city's central sacred zone. 'On one hand, the BJP claims to be the devotee of Lord Ram, and on the other, it is promoting liquor in his very birthplace. This is not only hypocrisy, but an outright insult to the faith of crores of Hindus,' Rai said. The Congress leader also leveled serious charges against the Yogi Adityanath-led government over the alleged underreporting of deaths that occurred during the Kumbh Mela stampede. Quoting a leading national media outlet, Rai stated that while 82 people had actually died, the government officially acknowledged only 37 fatalities. He further alleged that 19 individuals who perished during the Mahakumbh stampede were completely erased from the records. 'There is no mention of these victims, no compensation was offered to their families, and they have effectively been declared non-existent in the eyes of the government,' Rai said.

BJP opposed earlier caste report, why is it opposing re-survey: DKS
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar questioned the BJP's intention in questioning state government's decision to re-conduct the caste census. 'The BJP was opposed to the earlier caste census citing data sanctity issues. We have announced a redo of the census, but the BJP is still opposing this too,' he asked while talking speaking to reporters here. Asked about BJP criticising the decision to reconduct the caste census, he said, 'The BJP did not accept the earlier caste census report, why the opposition now when we are trying to address the concerns? We are not rejecting the earlier census, we are only trying to correct the shortcomings of the earlier survey in order to allay concerns of several communities.' Asked if the survey would be conducted in a scientific manner this time, he said, 'The modalities would be discussed in the Cabinet meeting. Several communities including Lambanis, Jains, Bestha communities had met me and raised concerns on the earlier survey. The previous survey was also done scientifically through door-to-door visits, but some of the people were hesitant to share their caste details. Our national leaders have given us certain guidelines. AICC President too has given us many suggestions. The CM will discuss this in the Cabinet meeting and take a decision.' To a question if the government gave in to the pressure from powerful communities, he said, 'We have yielded to the pressures from all communities. We have yielded to the pressure from the media too.' Asked if it was D K Shivakumar's victory in convincing the High command for a resurvey, he said there was no winner or loser in this matter. Asked if there was a need for the state to reconduct the caste census when the Centre has announced a caste census along with the general census, he said, 'This is our Party's agenda, the BJP has copied it. Rahul Gandhi has always been advocating proportionate representation for the backward classes.'
