Jags WR/CB Travis Hunter misses practice with injury
Hunter, the No. 2 overall pick who is playing both cornerback and wide receiver, did not practice Thursday and may sit out against the Saints as a precaution.
Hunter won the 2024 Heisman Trophy while starring on both sides of the ball at Colorado, but this injury will no doubt restart the debate about how sustainable two-way play is at the NFL level.
Jacksonville's most recent depth chart released on Tuesday has Hunter listed as a No. 1 receiver, along with Brian Thomas Jr. and Dyami Brown. He is listed on the second team at cornerback behind starters Tyson Campbell and Jourdan Lewis.
Hunter, 22, caught both of his targets for 9 yards in the Jags' 31-25 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in last Saturday's preseason opener. He played 10 snaps on offense and eight on defense.
Following Sunday's game at New Orleans, the Jaguars finish the preseason at Miami on Aug. 23. They kick off the regular season at home against the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 7.

X-rays negative on Phillies RHP Jhoan Duran's ankle
August 16 - Philadelphia Phillies closer Jhoan Duran, carted off the field on Friday in Washington after being hit by a one-hopper on his right ankle, underwent X-rays that were negative. Rays come back three times, hand Giants 6th straight loss
August 16 - Yandy Diaz broke a ninth-inning tie with an RBI single, Junior Caminero launched his 35th home run and the visiting Tampa Bay Rays beat the San Francisco Giants 7-6 on Friday night in what turned into a battle of bullpens. After the first 3 1/2 innings resulted in a 6-6 tie, neither team scored again until the ninth. Nick Fortes was hit by a pitch from Giants closer Randy Rodriguez (3-4) leading off the final frame. Ian Seymour, Garrett Cleavinger, Griffin Jax, Edwin Uceta (8-2) and Pete Fairbanks combined to shut out the Giants over the final six innings. The Giants held the upper hand on three occasions early on, scoring one in the first, two in the second and three in the third. But the Rays immediately countered with the same amount in the second, third and fourth, creating 1-1, 3-3 and 6-6 ties.
