'Hip Hop Was Born Here,'
Tuesday on Paramount+: 'NCIS: Los Angeles' cast member, rapper, and Grammy-winner LL Cool J hosts the original five-part docuseries about hip-hop's history, its music, and culture. The New Yorker, born James Todd Smith, sets the genre's birthplace squarely in New York City. After joining Def Jam Records, he got his bona fides by creating 10 consecutive platinum-selling albums. Interviewing legends Method Man, Big Daddy Kane, Remy Ma, and Jadakiss, among many others, the host uses an anecdotal approach to access the roots of the multi-generational movement.

'Match Game,'
Tuesday on ABC at 9 p.m. then streaming on Hulu: The game show reboot and resurgence continues with can't-stop-won't-stop 'Only Murders in the Building' star Martin Short as host. Not much has changed except that the purse is larger, and the boundaries of acceptable TV speech have been expanded. 'Match Game,' which first aired in 1962 with Gene Rayburn as host and Johnny Olson as announcer, premiered in black and white. Short will lead a gaudier weekly version. At stake is $25,000 as four contestants battle to 'match' the answers of six celebrities with fill-in-the-blank questions straight off a naughty SAT cheat sheet.
'Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time,'
Friday on National Geographic: With raging storms and flash floods in Texas, North Carolina, and New Jersey, the lessons of Louisiana's 2005 Hurricane Katrina still resonate. Armed with two decades of hindsight, the docuseries, directed by Oscar nominee Traci A. Curry, delivers a play-by-play of that catastrophic event, debunking myths, examining political and social repercussions, and offering insights to fuel future preparedness.

Phil Collins explains why he's in hospital and debunks hospice claims
A representative for Phil Collins has assured fans that the 74-year-old music legend is not in hospice care, despite recent rumors. Instead, the former drummer and frontman of British rock band Genesis is currently in the hospital after undergoing knee surgery, his spokesperson confirmed to The Independent. Last week, unfounded rumors that the retired musician was on his deathbed went viral online. It's unclear what sparked them; however, they came months after the eight-time Grammy-winning artist revealed that he was 'very sick.' 'I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens but I'm not hungry for it anymore,' Collins told Mojo magazine in February after his final concert with the group at London's O2 Arena. The concert was billed as the band's last ever together and saw Collins say goodbye to his fans. 'The thing is. I've been sick, I mean very sick,' he said. 'Phil wasn't in as great a shape as he used to be, but they did a great job,' founding Genesis member Peter Gabriel added. Though Gabriel didn't perform with the rock group, he explained: 'Me going was a rite of passage, really. I'd been part of the creation of Genesis, so I wanted to be there at the end.' Collins announced his retirement from live shows in 2022, after having previously said he can 'barely hold a drumstick' following a serious spinal injury in 2007. The injury damaged vertebrae in his upper neck and caused lasting nerve damage. 'I'm kind of physically challenged a bit, which is very frustrating because I'd love to be playing up there with my son,' he said in a September 2021 interview with BBC Breakfast. Collins' 24-year-old drummer son, Nic, filled in for his father during Genesis's final The Last Domino tour in 2021. Nic regularly drums for the band Better Strangers. Collins, who has been married three times, is also a father to four other children: actor Joely, 52; drummer Simon, 48; Emily in Paris star Lily, 36; and soccer player Mathew, 20. He was married to his first wife, Andrea Bertorelli, from 1975 to 1980, followed by his second marriage to Jill Tavelman from 1984 to 1996, and his third wife, Orianne Cevey, from 1999 to 2008. Adam Sandler Says 'Happy Gilmore 2' Had a 'Massive Part' for Carl Weathers Before His Death: 'We Had to Rewrite a Lot of Stuff' Per Netflix's description for 'Happy Gilmore: Golf Mayhem '98 Demo,' 'When you watch the film, there's an opening montage of Happy's last 30 years, including him becoming a video game star – and we made that into a playable demo. It's a short, retro game experience where you can golf, fight familiar foes 'Mortal Kombat'-style, and cause chaos around the golf course in full-on 90s era gaming vibes.' Developed by Amber, the video game's launch on Netflix comes on the heels of the streaming service partnering with Spotify for a different interactive 'Happy Gilmore' experience: the 'Happy Gilmore 2 Tournament.' Available via the music streaming platform's app, the collab 'lets users swing through film-inspired golf challenges, complete with iconic easter eggs, audio clips, and a personalized playlist of 'Happy' tracks to soundtrack their next round and celebrate the film's upcoming release.' Netflix has been slowly building out its video game offering (mostly mobile titles, but more and and more that can be played on web and the TV, like 'Happy Gilmore' golf demo) over the past three years and now has more than 100 titles on offer. The streamer is increasingly focused on tie-in games based on its own IP, including 'Squid Game: Unleashed,' 'Black Mirror: Thronglets' and 'Blood Line: A Rebel Moon Game,' and has been cutting down on its acquired indie titles.
