4 minor boys killed, 2 injured after truck hits them in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli
The accident took place on Armori-Gadchiroli highway at around 5 am, they said.
As per preliminary information, the six minors, in the age group of 12 to 16 years, were sitting on a roadside in Katli village, located 12 km from the district headquarters, when a truck hit them, a senior police official said.
Four of them died and two others suffered injuries, he said.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said he was extremely pained by the unfortunate and tragic accident.
"I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. We stand with them in this tough moment of grief and loss," he said in a post on X.
The two injured youth were receiving medical treatment at the Gadchiroli General Hospital, the CM said.
"Chopper arrangements are made to airlift them to Nagpur," he said.
"An ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh will be provided to the families of the deceased, and the State Government will bear all the expenses towards the medical treatment for the injured," Fadnavis said.

Two arrested for ‘snatching' senior citizen's gold chain in Vadodara
The Vadodara city Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) Saturday arrested two persons for alleged snatching chain from a senior citizen after luring her to board an auto-rickshaw. The two accused are part of a gang, which also includes women, involved in committing theft of gold ornaments, police said. The arrested have been identified as Ravi Tartiya and Sunil Chudasma, both aged 27. According to Vadodara DCB, the accused stole a chain worth around Rs 2 lakh from the woman when she travelled on the auto-rickshaw on August 7. With help of the CCTV footage, the DCB nabbed the two accused and seized the auto-rickshaw they were using to lure and rob passengers. 'The gold chain has been recovered from the accused. Two mobile phones and a cutter were also recovered from them. Two women, who are part of the gang, are wanted in the case,' the DCB said in a statement. Both the arrested accused have been previously involved in four cases of theft in Gujarat as well as in other FIRs lodged against them in Haryana. Staff to move legally against Thiruvithamcore society panel over PF withdrawal
Thiruvananthapuram: Amid the ongoing probe into the irregularities surrounding Thiruvithamcore Cooperative Society, staff members are set to move legally against the society's administrative panel for withdrawing over Rs 50 lakh from the PF account without their consent. The staff alleged that they were threatened to take voluntary retirement to avoid receiving several benefits. They have not received their salaries for the past few months. Even when the salaries were paid, the staff were restricted from withdrawing more than Rs 8,000 each month. Their gratuity, PF contributions, etc, were also not paid for the past few months. When contacted the panel members termed the measures as necessary to overcome the financial crisis of the society. "There were 27 staff at the society, some of them left the organisation due to these issues. Now we have 19 staff. We were threatened to take voluntary retirement and payment-free long leaves. It was without our consent that the huge amount was withdrawn from the PF account. We filed written complaints against it to the registrar, deputy registrar and joint registrar, but nothing has been done yet. Bengaluru: Construction sites on the city's periphery have a new-found problem: Scrap thieves. The miscreants are not the usual fly-by-night thieves, but a well-organised gang that uses elderly men as scouts to pull off daring and early-morning heists.
