BGT's Alesha Dixon addresses 'intense' time on Strictly and real reason why she quit
Alesha Dixon set the record straight about moving from Strictly Come Dancing to Britain's Got Talent, after an "intense" time on the BBC show
Alesha Dixon opened up about the 'lowest point' in her life
Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon has opened up about her experience on Strictly Come Dancing, as a contestant and a judge.
The 46-year-old won the BBC show with her professional dance partner Matthew Cutler back in 2007. Two years later, she joined the panel as a judge, replacing Arlene Phillips.

Alesha said while she never wanted to do a reality show, she made the "difficult" decision after experiencing the "lowest point" in her life.

Just months before, the singer's first marriage to Michael Harvey, best known as MC Harvey, came to an end after one year.
To make matters worse, she also lost her record deal before an "amazing producer" name Brian Higgins approached her to do some song writing.
During these sessions, Alesha wrote her song The Boy Does Nothing, which later became her biggest hit, selling over one million copies worldwide.

After David Walliams described her career turnaround as a "magic moment" for her on the Making A Scene podcast, Alesha recalled feeling support from her fans.
Alesha Dixon shared the real reason why she quit Strictly Come Dancing
"I could feel the energy at the time, and that really was what kind of got me through as well, because it was a very emotionally challenging time," she shared.

"Being in Strictly as well, it enabled me to just be in this bubble."
Alesha said things later became "intense" for her when she became a judge on the panel, and received backlash over the decision.
"To be honest, it was quite heavy at the time and I thought, why have I said yes to this? I didn't sign up for this," she shared.

"But, it ended up being well in the end, it was just a storm in a teacup that I needed to get through."
After her stint as a judge came to an end after three series, she moved on to join Britain's Got Talent.
While it was rumoured at the time that Simon Cowell had "poached" her from the BBC, she said this wasn't the case.

She explained: "They thought that Simon had poached me from the BBC, but I'd actually already made the decision to leave Strictly.
"I always knew I was only going to do three years on the show."
Quizzed further about her decision to leave, she added: "Because I didn't feel like I wanted to settle there, I wanted the experience of it, but I felt like I wanted to move on and try something new.

"I enjoy Britain's Got Talent so much, which is why I've been there for so long."

James Martin announces Saturday Morning break as he makes exciting summer plans

James Martin bid his Saturday Morning viewers a fond farewell as the show is being taken off the air for the summer - and he did not explain exactly when the show will be back James Martin has revealed he is shunning exotic holidays and choosing to relax in the UK as his Saturday Morning TV show is paused for the summer. The 52-year-old TV chef took to the air for a final time this weekend ahead of an extended break. The star has been hosting ITV's James Martin's Saturday Morning since 2017 - but fans will have to go for several weeks without seeing him on screens. On Saturday, the host explained that his show is being put on ice for the summer. ‌ He did not give an explicit time or date that the long-running series would return - but did shed light on what he would be doing in the interim. After thanking his guests and co-stars, he engaged in some banter with his crew. When the episode came to an end, James announced: "That is also for the series. Me and the crew are heading off on sunny holidays. Different climates." Turning to his team, he asked: "Where are you going?" A crew member could be heard replying that they would be going to Portugal - leading James to reveal he was looking forward to a staycation rather than jetting off to the sun. He revealed: "Yorkshire for me." Saturday's episode brought to a close the current season of the show - which was forced to be shorter than usual due to a conflicting event. He told fans: "Because of the Derby on ITV1 this afternoon, it is a shorter episode than usual today. But we still have time for one more dish." When the episode ended, he made sure to explain that he was grateful to his guests, crew and viewers for making his show a continued success. He said: "That's all we have got time for today, a massive thank you to all of my guests." ‌ He continued: "To my food team, you can sleep better now. Daniel and Sally, and of course, Harry Redknapp and Carly Paoli." James later teased when his show would be back on the air - but did not commit to an exact date. He said: "We will be back here with more top chefs, other brilliant guests, and more delicious recipes later on in the year." And signing off, he told viewers: "Until then, thanks for watching. Have a wonderful, fantastic summer. I'll see you out there wherever you are. Thanks for watching, see you again soon, goodbye for now." ‌ ITV has been making headlines in recent weeks over the brutal changes they have been making behind-the-scenes, reportedly leading to staff redundancies and even reports Lorraine Kelly is considering quitting the network after her number of shows per year was cut in half and her time slot hugely reduced. ITV revealed last month: "From January 2026, Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily, and will transfer to be produced by ITV News at ITN at their base at Gray's Inn Road in London. GMB will be made by a dedicated team within ITV News at ITN. "This change will see ITV bring all its national news gathering into one hub, with Good Morning Britain benefitting from the journalistic and production resources already in place for national news bulletins, for the website and for digital platforms including ITVX." It was added: "Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will continue to be produced by ITV Studios and will be broadcast from a new location in central London." Drastic changes have not yet been made for weekend scheduling.

It comes as we can reveal TV presenter Jeff, 46, has a court date in his legal fight to stop Freddy from seeing Jackiey amid concerns over his welfare. A family friend said: 'Jeff and Freddy are in regular contact with each other - probably more than most dads and their adult children. 'They talk a lot and spend plenty of time together. 'Jeff just wants the best for his son and the door is always open for him. "Jackiey's influence over Freddy is harmful to his overall wellbeing. 'It's very sad that a grandmother continues to try and lead him astray.' On Friday Freddy, who starred with Jeff in the BBC's Celebrity Race Across The World, revealed he's going to rehab in Spain for cannabis, saying he 'wants a healthy relationship with his dad'. He wrote: 'I've been smoking from the age of 12 and it's time to stop, it was a bad coping mechanism that turned into an addiction.'
