Whether you're in the mood for intense storytelling, family bonding or action-packed scenes, there's something for everyone at the cinemas.
Tanvi The Great
Directed by Anupam Kher, this heartfelt drama follows the story of Tanvi, a 21-year-old girl on the autism spectrum who dreams of joining the Indian Army. Inspired by her late father's unfulfilled wish, Tanvi sets out to salute the national flag at Siachen. The film is already making noise for its sensitive portrayal and has received international praise at Cannes and other festivals. With performances from Pallavi Joshi and debutante Shubhangi Dutt, this one is an emotional rollercoaster that should not be missed.
Saiyaara
Ahaan Panday makes his debut in this tender romantic drama that explores love in the face of fading memory. He plays Krish Kapoor, a struggling musician who finds creative and emotional refuge in the poetry of Vaani Batra, a young writer portrayed by Aneet Padda. But their journey takes a heart-wrenching turn when Vaani is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's. The film promises both tears and warmth with music and storytelling that feel close to the heart.
Fantastic Four
Marvel's Fantastic Four marks the superhero team's official debut in the MCU. Directed by Matt Shakman, the film stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Set apart from previous versions, this reboot promises a retro-inspired story with multiverse connections, kicking off a bold new era for Marvel.
Metro… In Dino
Anurag Basu returns to the world of urban relationships with Metro… In Dino, a spiritual successor to his acclaimed Life… In A Metro. The film captures love, confusion and heartbreak as experienced in fast-paced metro cities. Boasting a rich ensemble cast that includes Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Neena Gupta and Fatima Sana Shaikh, it uses a fresh soundtrack by Pritam to thread the stories together.
Maalik
Starring Rajkummar Rao in a powerful lead role, Maalik is a socio-political Hindi film that dives deep into the intersections of land, power, and justice in rural India. With its gritty narrative and emotionally layered storytelling, the film paints a haunting yet honest portrait of life on the margins. While it may not be a mainstream blockbuster, its impact lies in its realism and bold storytelling.

Mohit Suri's latest romantic drama, Saiyaara, is the talk of the town and for all the right reason! The film, starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has taken the box office by storm, earning big numbers and even bigger fan love. Despite being a launchpad for fresh faces, Saiyaara has outdone many established hits. Saiyaara Box Office Collection In just three days, Saiyaara has raked in over Rs 110 crore worldwide. Its India net box office collection alone stands at Rs 83 crore, an impressive feat for a film without a major star. It has beaten the lifetime business of biggies like Maalik, The Diplomat, Deva, and even Anurag Basu's Metro… In Dino. Instagram stardom for Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda Ahaan Panday, who plays Krish Kapoor in the film, has seen his Instagram followers jump from 460K to over 1 million within days. Meanwhile, Aneet Padda—who essays the role of journalist Vaani Batra, rose from 350K to 953K followers. Audiences are loving their performances and following their every move. This rise in follower count echoes the social media surge seen when Triptii Dimri went viral after her role in Animal. Though not a debutant, Triptii's jump from 800K to 3 million followers post-release is now legendary—she currently sits at over 6.1 million. About Saiyaara With soulful songs trending and the fresh chemistry between the leads winning hearts, Saiyaara is proving that a good story paired with solid direction can still work wonders, even without an A-list cast.

Celina Jaitly Slams Makers Of Her Film Jawani Diwani: ‘Made It All About Serial Kisser'

Last Updated: Celina Jaitly and Emraan Hashmi starrer Jawani Diwani: A Youthful Joyride was released in 2006. The actress is still angry at the makers for diminishing the female lead's story. Celina Jaitly has called out the makers of her 2006 film 'Jawai Diwani: A Youthful Joyride', co-starring Emraan Hashmi. She said that much like her character Roma Fernandez in the film, she too felt betrayed as an actor. Criticizing the makers, she recalled being promised a stronger character arc, but instead, her role was sidelined and 'pushed aside' as the story focused entirely on Emraan Hashmi's character, the 'serial kisser.' She clarified that her criticism wasn't aimed at her 'amazing' co-star Emraan, but at the makers' mentality, who diluted the woman's voice for commercial convenience. In her recent Instagram post, Celina Jaitly shared a video clip from Jawani Diwani, featuring her and Emraan Hashmi. 'If I had directed this film, I would have told it from the perspective of the heart, from a place of raw, real emotion. I would never have allowed HER : ROMA FERNANDEZ to settle for someone who hurt her, used her, and diminished her worth. I would have honoured her journey, just as I was promised during the director's narration. But just like my character was betrayed in the story, I too was betrayed, as an actor" she wrote. Celina further added, 'What was meant to be her story became all about him, the serial kisser, while the woman who was kissed and believed it was love was pushed aside. This is not against my amazing co-star, this is against the mentality of the makers at the time, who chose spectacle over sincerity, and diluted a woman's voice for commercial convenience." Jawani Diwani, directed by Manish Sharma, starred Emraan Hashmi, Celina Jaitly, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Tiku Talsania and Mahesh Manjrekar. Known for its catchy songs, and cheeky humour, the film tells the tale of an aspiring singer who finds himself torn between love, ambition, and complex relationships. The movie garnered mixed reviews, with specific criticism directed at the development of the female lead's storyline. Best known for her roles in early 2000s hits like Janasheen, No Entry, and Thank You, Celina was last seen in a lead role in the 2011 romantic comedy Thank You. She made a brief special appearance in the 2012 film Will You Marry Me?, and later appeared in the 2020 short film Season's Greetings. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
