Lamborghini has unveiled its new ultra-rare V12 hybrid hypercar with an eye-watering price tag of £3million.
Just 29 examples of the Fenomeno are being produced as part of the exotic Italian brand's 'few off' roster of bonkers road cars.
As the name suggests, the performance figures are phenomenal to say the least.
Boasting a staggering 1,065 horsepower, it is officially the most potent model with numberplates that Lamborghini has ever sold to members of the public. It's also its fastest, capable of reaching 62mph in a mere 2.4 seconds; that's less time than it takes to say, 'capable of reaching 62mph in a mere 2.4 seconds'.
But who gets their hands on such an exclusive car that built in incredible low volume using the most advanced materials and design?
The Daily Mail sat down with Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann to ask just that...
The Fenomeno has been unveiled at an invite-only event hosted during the prestigious Monterey Car Week in Pebble Beach, California.
It is underpinned by the same petrol-hybrid platform as the company's flagship Revuelto supercar - but has been wound up to eleven to push the looks and performance into a different stratosphere.
The powertrain upgrade means it now surpasses the model on which it is based as Lamborghini's most formidable road car, gazumping Revuelto's 1,001hp output by 64 horses. That's equivalent to adding the total power output of a Volkswagen Up city car.
Some 823hp is generated by the naturally aspirated 6.5-litre 12-cylinder engine - which is a new record for Lambo - that revs to an ear-splitting 9,250rpm while a further 242hp comes from three electric motors delivered energy from a 7kWh battery making up the hybrid system.
Everything is married together by an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

As a result, it produces levels of speed so instant that you would need to put your driving licence on the endangered list, if you could afford the astronomical asking price, that is.
The spec sheet states that it can reach 124mph in just 6.7 seconds and - if you dare - a top speed in excess of 218mph.
Interestingly - though far less excitingly - the bigger battery means the electric-only range has also doubled compared to Revuelto. It means Fenomeno drivers can stealthily take to the streets in silent model for up to 12 miles when it's fully charged.
With only 29 units planned at a price between €3million and €3.5million (roughly £2.6m to £3m), it's also set to be one of the rarest models to feature the prancing bull on its nose.
A 30th car is also being made purely for Lamborghini, which it will retain in its museum and never sell to the public.

The CEO says Fenomeno has been produced as a 20-year nod to the inauguration of its in-house department responsible for creating 'few off' models, which first unveiled its Reventón creation in 2007.
Fenomeno now joins a lineage of limited edition Lambos that also includes the Sesto Elemento (2010), Veneno (2013), Centenario (2016), Sián (2019) and reborn Countach (2021).
Winkelmann says it is these cars that have become a 'fundamental part of Lamborghini's DNA', having raised the profile of the supercar marque since the turn of the century.
'Fenomeno is an extraordinary car in terms of performance, style and iconoclastic representation of Lamborghini, created to celebrate the value and achievements of our brand, and dedicated to those customers who expect the utmost exclusivity from us,' he added.
'But beyond its extraordinary design and power, the Fenomeno is the few-off that, more than any other in Lamborghini's history, introduces innovative technical solutions to make the driving experience truly unique.'
While its proportions are similar to that of Revuelto, a full-carbon makeover of the body makes it stand apart as a far more extreme vehicle.
This includes deeply chiselled and indented panels, enormous cooling intakes, and a completely revised rear featuring a central quad exhaust outlet and Y-shaped light cluster.

Inside, the Fenomeno is as extreme as it is on the outside. The 29 customers will be able to customise just about every element of the car they'll be delivered - once their £3million payment has arrived in Lamborghini's bank account, that is...
Just 29 examples - so who gets one?
With such finite availability, who on earth gets to own one of this radical machines?
It's a question we posed to Winkelmann during an exclusive sit down with the Lamborghini boss.
Given the company delivered 10,687 vehicles to customers globally last year, the 29 getting keys to a Fenomeno represents 0.2 per cent of Lamborghini's already-exclusive annual clientele.
So how does it go about choosing who gets allocated one?

'They are all allocated already, and almost all the deals are closed,' Winkelmann told us during an interview last month.
'There is a process which is based on criteria which is known by us, the customers and our dealers.
'This is in terms of the number of cars they have bought.'
He explains that those with the biggest collection of high-value models - including other 'few off' cars - are given 'priority access' to special projects such as Fenomeno.
And while limited-edition cars of this ilk have become fundamental to Lamborghini's DNA, the boss tells us there also needs to be a compelling business case for producing a vehicle with a stupendous seven-figure price tag.
Winkelmann said the company is already facing 'heavy investment constantly to secure the future of the company', especially with changing regulations that are impacting car makers of all sizes in the lead-up to the proposed ban on sales of combustion engine cars from 2035.
But he said the continuation of the few off project is key to 'hold on to a tradition that is very important'.
While Fenomeno costs over six times the £450,000 price tag of Revuelto on which it is based, Winkelmann said it is not about producing an exclusive car to simply turn a profit, with huge costs associated to making such an extreme machine.
'It is not only giving us a business case, which is, for sure, not the biggest one, but it's giving credibility to the product and providing customers the opportunity to invest in something important to us,' he went on.
'If we would make it [Fenomeno] only for the profit, we would not make it, because the effort we have to put into it is huge in comparison to the profitability.
'What is most important to me is the satisfaction of our customers by enabling them to have something really outstanding and unique in very limited availability.'

Well wonder no more, because the new GMSV Le Mans GTR has been revealed… and we're suddenly a little short of breath. It's the first of two, simultaneously-revealed, projects from the newly formed Gordon Murray Special Vehicles – the other being the S1 LM you can read about here. But this is the first under the 'SV Design' pillar, which focuses on ultra-low volume runs based on GMA production cars. There will only be 24 of these built, one for every hour of some race in France, and they're all sold out. Sorry about that. Advertisement - Page continues below The fundamentals are a blend of T.50 and T.50S, so it's a three-seater, six-speed manual and the engine is the T.50's 654bhp, 4.0-litre, 12,100rpm V12, which let's face it, is a handy place to begin. Beyond that it's all new. The bodywork is inspired not just by Gordon's own F1 GTR longtail racecar – built for the 1997 season when it won its class but came second overall at Le Mans – but longtail legends like the Porsche 917 and Alfa Tipo 33/3. 'Longtail racing cars perfectly combine aerodynamic benefit and aesthetic balance, I've always loved their mix of considered engineering and flowing design,' said Gordon, and who are we to argue. You might like The exterior lines have an organic flow to them, much like T.50 and T.33, but are sharpened up with more obvious aero appendages. If we had to position this in terms of road vs track focus, it sits somewhere between T.50 and T.50S. The vertical stacked lights give mild McLaren Senna vibes, the roof scoop is present and correct and the deep, full-width carbon rear wing is a thing of beauty. You'll note there's no fan at the rear – not needed here apparently as the elongated tail allows the top surface to taper down toward the rising underside, which offers all the aero efficiency and stability required. The model we saw was without an interior, but renderings show the target is a more minimalist and focused feel than T.50… if that's possible, with all-new dials and switchgear. Price? Not disclosed, but many millions, as is the norm now for these low-volume unicorns. Those lucky 24 owners can pick a spec to match their favourite longtail racer, or simply go wild with colour and trim. We'll take ours in any colour we can get it. What you're looking at is the S1 LM - a road-legal, GMA T.50 and T.50s-based, F1 GTR homage built by Gordon Murray for one very special customer. We'll let that sink in for a bit, give you time to browse the pics, because as launches go, a tribute to one of our favourite race cars, based on the underpinning of one of our favourite ever supercars, is a bit of a mic drop moment. Advertisement - Page continues below First, a history lesson. Gordon Murray never designed the F1 to go racing, but a few wealthy customers convinced him and McLaren boss Ron Dennis otherwise. Time only allowed for minimal modifications to be made, but the F1 GTR duly romped home 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th on its debut at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans – and a legend was born. To celebrate, McLaren created five GTR-aping LM road cars, but with the added bonus of a more powerful V12 than was in either the race car or standard road car. Over the years, other F1 road cars have been treated to the lookalike high downforce kit, while a special few also got the unrestricted race engine… so it's clear where the mood board came from here. You might like The S1 LM is one of two new cars from a newly minted company - GMSV (Gordon Murray Special Vehicles) – the other being the Le Mans GTR. GMSV's purpose is to bring the imagination of Gordon's team, and their most loyal and enthusiastic customers, to life. It will build rare and special supercars under three pillars: Heritage - continuation or reimagined models from Gordon's back catalogue; Bespoke - 1 of 1 customer commissions such as this S1 LM; SV design - ultra low-volume specials based on GMA production cars, of which the Le Mans GTR is the first. Back to the S1 LM (Special vehicle 1, Le Mans) - only five will be built, all going to the same customer who has a healthy obsession (like most of us) with Gordon's 1995 Le Mans winning F1 GTR, and worked with the GMA team and his own designer to create a road-legal, modern interpretation of his all-time hero. The underpinnings are a greatest hits of T.50 and T.50s - the panels, for example, are made from the same, slightly lighter material as T.50s, but the three-seater layout and six-speed manual are T.50. The 'standard', naturally-aspirated 4.0-litre V12 was sent back to Cosworth for some fettling and returned as a 4.3-litre with a bigger bore featuring lighter internals, so it still revs to over 12,000rpm and now produces 'over 700bhp'. Our ears are bleeding just thinking about it. The suspension is lighter and stiffer than T.50 and the engine solid mounted for even sharper handling response, but without a catastrophic effect on refinement, says GMSV. After all, this is designed to be a useable road car, not a track-day special. The exterior is a blend of direct references to the F1 GTR fused with modern twists. Like the headlights – slim openings for a futuristic look, with cut-out surrounds that reference the original, larger lamps. There's the bridge wing in the front clam, lozenge-shaped vents on the front wheel arch, five-spoke wheels, a roof scoop, sharp angles and intakes in the side profile… all lifted and reinterpreted from the OG. But the rear steals the show. The fixed wing is a dead ringer (albeit with dual planes now for more downforce), the four round taillights, complete with new neon sunset slats are just perfect, as is the badging and Inconel quad exhausts. Again, the show car we saw only had a partial interior, but the focus inside, as you can see in the renderings, is to lean into Gordon's founding principles of lightweight and engineering art... and have a bit of fun with the ear defenders, tartan seats and wooden shifter. No word on price (if you have to ask etc) but the first one should be delivered next year. Apparently, GMSV is already working on the next batch of specials. So, what would you like to see next?

Meanwhile, the UK-built Citroën e-Berlingo and Vauxhall Combo Life Electric were awarded the lower discount. This is likely to be because their batteries come from abroad, while the Nissan Leaf's battery will be supplied by the AESC factory next to Nissan's Sunderland plant. The government has not given any indication of when to expect the next batch of ECG-eligible EVs, but many sub-£37k EVs – including many from Asia that are unlikely to be deemed eligible on the basis of their manufacturing and export CO2 footprints – have already been discounted by their makers. Unlike with the previous Plug-in Car Grant (PiCG), buyers don't need to register for the discount; instead, the ECG is automatically applied to the sale price of the eligible models. Transport secretary Heidi Alexander said: 'This summer, we're making owning an electric car cheaper, easier and a reality for thousands more people across the UK.' To qualify for the grant, car manufacturers' models must meet science-backed emission-footprint criteria, while the individual model lines must be priced under £37,000 in entry-level trim. Which discount a model receives – either £1500 or £3750 – is determined by its environmental impact: how much CO2 is emitted in an EV's production and assembly, along with the emissions footprint of its battery manufacture. Threshold levels have yet to be made public. While any manufacturer can apply for their car to be included in the scheme, it's thought that, due to this criteria, cars produced in Asian countries will not be eligible for the ECG.
