Terry McLaurin Next Team Odds: Could Star WR Land In AFC?
Commanders' star receiver Terry McLaurin is looking for a new contract, and the team has yet to deliver it.
With that, is it possible that McLaurin could be on his way out of D.C.?
Let's see the odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of July 21.
Terry McLaurin next team
Commanders: -400 (bet $10 to win $12.50 total)
Patriots: +400 (bet $10 to win $50 total)
Raiders: +550 (bet $10 to win $65 total)

Jets: +1300 (bet $10 to win $140 total)
Browns: +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)
Steelers: +1500 (bet $10 to win $160 total)
Cardinals: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)
While Washington remains at the top of the oddsboard, tensions are simmering between McLaurin and the only franchise he's ever played for.
Just last week, McLaurin said there had been little discussion between his representation and the team regarding an extension, calling the situation "disappointing."
In his six years with Washington, McLaurin has five 1,000-yard seasons, and barely missed 1,000 yards receiving as a rookie, putting up 919 yards in 14 games in 2019.
McLaurin, 29, is a fan favorite who has twice been named to the Pro Bowl, and 2025 will be the final year of a three-year, $68 million deal he signed with the team in 2022, meaning if he is not extended, he would be an unrestricted free agent heading into next season.
McLaurin sat out offseason spring activities and, according to reports, will likely sit out training camp and possibly carry a holdout into the regular season, unless a new deal is reached.
Second on the board to potentially acquire McLaurin's services are the New England Patriots. The Pats have not had a 1,000-yard receiver since the 2019 regular season, when Tom Brady was throwing passes to Julian Edelman (1,117 yards).
New England's new No. 1 receiver is Stefon Diggs, who is still recovering from a torn ACL suffered in Week 8 of last season.
Third on the board are the Raiders, who have had a 1,000-yard pass-catcher in each of the last six seasons. They will enter the 2025 campaign with tight end Brock Bowers and wideout Jakobi Meyers as new QB Geno Smith's top two targets.

Texans Pro Bowl RB Joe Mixon expected to miss 'extended time' ahead of 2025 season
The hits keep coming for the Houston Texans The news surrounding Houston Texans Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon has gone from bad to worse as the first week of training camp ends. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Mixon, who was placed on the non-football injury list at the start of camp, is expected to be out for an extended period with a lingering foot injury. The Pro Bowler coming off his first 1,000-yard season with the AFC South champions is expected to be reevaluated closer to the season to determine his availability. What does this mean for the Texans' future? Right now, nothing. Mixon, who inked a three-year, $27 million extension last offseason, likely would have been limited in drills for the majority of training camp. He wasn't expected to play in most preseason games either, as most of the starters see a majority of their reps during team drills in joint practices. But if Mixon were to miss the beginning of the year, that would change the outlook of the offense under new play-caller Nick Caley. Part of the reason for Caley's hiring was his work surrounding running backs, so a limited ground game would elevate the pressure for Pro Bowl quarterback C.J. Stroud to deliver from the jump on the road in Los Angeles. In his first season with the Texans, Mixon rushed for 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns, helping Houston secure its second AFC South division title under DeMeco Ryans. On pace to eclipse over 1,300 yards, Mixon was limited to 14 games due to an ankle injury suffered in Week 2's win over the Chicago Bears. With Mixon out, former All-Pro Nick Chubb is expected to start as the first option for the offense. He's coming off an underwhelming season in Cleveland, but the four-time Pro Bowler is just two years removed from an All-Pro season that saw him total 1,525 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Texans also drafted Woody Marks in the fourth round out of USC and have Dameon Pierce entering a contract year. Pierce, the Texans' former lead back, is currently on the PUP list entering Week 2 of training camp.

Dolphins add two veteran cornerbacks in Jack Jones, Mike Hilton
In one day, the Miami Dolphins have changed the outlook of their secondary. Former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Jack Jones signed with the Dolphins, the team announced Saturday morning. Less than six hours later, ex-Cincinnati Bengals nickel corner Mike Hilton joined the aqua and orange, according to Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz This comes the same week that the Dolphins' cornerback room suffered a slew of injuries. First came Artie Burns' torn ACL on Wednesday. Then Kader Kohou suffered a leg injury during one-on-ones at Saturday's practice. Within hours, undrafted rookie BJ Adams was subsequently carted off the field. A fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Jones has earned the reputation of ballhawk as he has snagged an eye-popping seven interceptions in 42 career games. The 27-year-old has also turned four of those picks into touchdowns and amassed 136 combined tackles. 'We call him Jack Boy,' Dolphins cornerback Cornell Armstrong said of Jones, praising his energy and calling him 'a player that you want to be around.' The two briefly played together on the Raiders. 'He's going to get the ball. He's a hard worker. He has a lot of love for the game.' Jones, however, has ran into trouble off of the field. In June 2023, he was arrested on weapons charges after police allegedly found two firearms in his carry-on bag at the airport. Luckily, Jones reached a deal that dropped the charges in exchange for one year of probation and 48 hours of community service. Still, the Patriots waived Jones just five games into the 2023 campaign. The Raiders picked him up later that year. He appeared in seven games, starting just three. In 2024, Jones appeared to jump ahead on the depth chart, starting 16 of 17 games. He then turned in the best year of his young career: three picks, one of which he returned for a touchdown, 16 pass deflections and 69 total tackles. A coaching change in Las Vegas, however, led to the end of Jones' tenure in the desert. Roughly three months after Raiders named Peter Carroll as a head coach, Jones was released. Hilton, meanwhile, has 56 starts underneath his belt across eight seasons with the Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers. During that span, the now 31-yearold grabbed 13 picks and defended 56 passes. He also brings a bit of experience in the pass rush to the secondary, accumulating 11.5 sacks, 66 tackles for loss and 32 quarterback hits. An undrafted rookie who found a home with the Steelers, Hilton played the first four seasons of his career in Pittsburgh. His play landed him a four-year, $24 million gig with the Bengals. It's clear that Hilton certainly left a mark in Cincinatti. Following the news of his signing with the Dolphins, Bengals analyst Paul Dehner Jr. deemed the cornerback 'First Team All-Great Dude.' 'Won the PFWA Media Cooperation Award last year, was a team leader and a heart and soul of those stellar 2021-22 defenses and both playoff runs,' Dehner tweeted Saturday. 'One of the best free agent signings in Bengals history.' With the extent of Kohou's injury unknown, Hilton gives the Dolphins another experienced, nickel corner. He's taken the vast majority of his snaps – 4,714 to be exact – in the nickel. Outside of Kohou, the Dolphins didn't have much help in the nickel prior to Hilton's signing. Both veterans arrive in South Florida with a real chance to become a starter. Jones can create turnovers – his seven interceptions since 2022 ranks in the top 25 among all players – and the Dolphins certainly need that on the boundary. Hilton, however, can handle the nickel if Kohou opts to play on the boundary or his injury keeps him out for an extended period of time.

Dolphins agree to contract with ex-Raiders defender
The post Dolphins agree to contract with ex-Raiders defender appeared first on ClutchPoints. Amid an injury-riddled training camp, the Miami Dolphins are adding another veteran to their defense. Days after losing former first-round pick Artie Burns to a torn ACL, the Dolphins signed former Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones. Jones agreed to a one-year contract with Miami, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. The 27-year-old cornerback started 16 of the Raiders' 17 games in 2024 and was easily one of the top defensive players still on the market. Jones is coming off the best statistical season of his career, recording 69 tackles, three interceptions and 16 pass breakups in 2024. He returned one of his interceptions for a touchdown to give him a league-high three pick-sixes in the last two years. While the Dolphins signed Jones right after Burns' injury, he is also somewhat of a replacement for Jalen Ramsey and Kendall Fuller. Ramsey and Fuller started 11 games together in 2024 to lead Miami's secondary, which allowed the 10th-fewest pass yards per game. Neither player returns in 2025, with Fuller still a free agent and Ramsey getting traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Without Ramsey or Fuller, only two of the 12 cornerbacks on the Dolphins' offseason roster have more than two years of NFL experience. Jones will now become the de facto leader of the group, despite his inexperience within the organization. Jack Jones joins Dolphins' evolving 2025 defense The Dolphins' defense enters its second year under defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver in 2025, following an up-and-down season. Miami ended 2024 with a top-10 scoring defense, allowing the sixth-fewest points per game, but struggled with injuries and inconsistency throughout the season. The biggest additions the Dolphins gained in the offseason were the returns of edge-rushers Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips, who both missed most of the 2024 season with injuries. Miami also added star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick after selecting defensive tackle Kenneth Grant in the 2025 NFL Draft. Fitzpatrick, the Dolphins' No. 11 overall pick in 2018, returns to the team through the Ramsey trade. Coming off a career year, Jones should immediately slot into the Dolphins' starting lineup. He will likely line up on the outside, opposite of second-year cornerback Storm Duck. After being one of the best units in 2024, Miami's secondary will likely struggle in 2025, but Jones' presence should improve one of the most inexperienced positional groups in the league.
