Dianarin Vahidin, 2021 Paginatan UNK, in a Facebook post on Saturday, said she was wrongly accused of being a 'husband snatcher.' 'The accusation is a very serious slander, baseless, and has affected my personal dignity, my family's good name, and the reputation of the Unduk Ngadau institution,' she wrote. She firmly denied any involvement in the alleged affair, describing the claims as harmful and emotionally distressing. Dianarin, the first runner-up in the 2021 State UNK, said the online harassment had compromised her safety and emotional wellbeing, prompting her to seek legal advice and file a police report. She also referred the matter to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for investigation and further action. 'I take this seriously and believe this should serve as a lesson to be more responsible, ethical, and careful when posting or sharing provocative content online,' she said. Dianarin expressed gratitude to the Sabah Unduk Ngadau Association (UNS) for supporting her right to defend herself and uphold her dignity. She urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and to help foster a more respectful and responsible digital environment. 'Unverified condemnation can leave a deep impact on someone's life,' she said, thanking friends, family, and supporters who stood by her. State UNK co-chairperson Datuk Joanna Kitingan also responded to the post by saying, 'I know you are a brave girl. Making the police report is the right thing to do. Praying the culprit will be caught.' The controversy began on Friday when a Facebook user posted about her friend being cheated on by her husband, claiming he had an affair with a district-level beauty queen, but did not name anyone directly. Online users, acting as amateur sleuths, began speculating on the identity of the alleged 'husband snatcher,' leading to several Unduk Ngadau participants' names and photos being circulated without verification. G57 offers legal aid, demands transparency in Zara Qairina's death

G57 announced it will provide additional legal assistance to Zara's family, including legal counsel to help them pursue justice. Its chairman Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar said the group could no longer remain silent as delays and a lack of updates in the case have sparked growing public unease. "We've received reports suggesting that the investigation may be intentionally delayed or 'protected' due to the alleged involvement of a VVIP's child. If true, this is a serious miscarriage of justice," he said. As part of its next steps, G57 will advise the family to consider filing a civil suit against the school or any party found to be negligent or complicit in the incident. The group will also continue to pressure the authorities for full transparency and regular updates on the case. "No one is above the law. A person's social status or background must never be used as a shield from criminal accountability," Zulkarnain emphasized. G57 also urged all Malaysians to stand in solidarity with Zara Qairina's family and collectively demand justice, transparency, and urgent reforms to make schools safer and more humane. Mother of two charged with criminal breach of trust

Kota Kinabalu: A 25-year-old woman was charged with committing criminal breach of trust amounting to RM17,704. Aliexandra Audrey Jimmy Joe pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan, to the charge against her on Thursday. She is accused of breaching the trust given to her as a worker of Syarikat KKRMC Trading Sdn Bhd which entrusted her with the sales collections belonged to the company by making the money for her own use. The offence allegedly took place between March 14, 2024 and Apr 30, 2024 at the company's premises in Kg Andus, Papar. Aliexandra was charged under Section 408 of the Penal Code which provides for a jail term of between one and 14 years, and whipping, and liable to a fine, on conviction. The court set Sept 3 this year for pre-trial case management and released Aliexandra on bail of RM4,000 in two local sureties. The court also imposed several additional conditions on Aliexandra such as to report to Sabindo police station once a mont, to surrender her passport, if any, to court until the disposal of her case. Aliexandra was also advised to engage a counsel to represent her during the hearing. Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor Bryan Francis proposed bail of RM10,000 in two local sureties and also requested for several additional conditions to be imposed on Aliexandra. Thirteen illegal immigrants were jailed four months each for entering the State illegally.

Kota Kinabalu: They were Timhar Sajan, Sharif Azman, Radzmil Ibnu, Normin Benjamin, Mohamad Ibnu, Mar Barli, Benjamin Jalang, Emilinda Sabu Goran, Martina Bataubine Wokal, Sapir Ali, Amin Jul, Muhammad Isa Totong and Marsel Jaid. All the illegal immigrants comprising Indonesians and Filipinos pleaded guilty separately before Sessions Court Judge Hurman Hussain, to entering the State without their valid documents. The offence under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/1963 provides for a jail term of up to five years, or a fine of up to RM10,000, and whipping, on conviction. The illegal immigrants were arrested by the Immigration team who carried out operation in Tenom, Sipitang, Menumbok and Kota Marudu and Kudat in May June and July this year. During the operation, they failed to produce their identification documents to the Immigration personnel. During mitigation, the illegal immigrants begged for leniency and to be deported to their hometown as soon as possible. The court ordered the illegal immigrants to serve the jail sentence from the date of their arrests. After completing their jail sentence, all of the illegal foreigners were ordered referred to the Immigration Department for further action.
