Mukul Dev died on Friday at the age of 54. He was in the intensive care unit (ICU) due to health complications. The news was confirmed by Mukhul's close friend, actor Vindu Dara Singh. Mukul Dev has worked in numerous films, including Yamla Pagla Deewana, Son of Sardaar, R… Rajkumar, and Jai Ho.

Born in 1970 in New Delhi in a Punjabi family, Mukul Dev's father was an assistant commissioner of police, and reportedly, a biopic about his father is in the works. Mukul's first paycheck came from a school show when he was in class 8, where he danced like Michael Jackson.
Apart from being an actor, he was a trained pilot and worked as a commercial pilot for years before his debut. He received aviation training from the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (National Flying Academy) in Raebareli.
In a post on Instagram, he shared a video where he was captured flying an aircraft up in the clouds. The caption of the post read, 'And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too…. I'll see you on the dark side of the moon. #crosscountry."

He joined the entertainment industry due to his interest in modelling and acting. Mukul was set to debut in a film titled 'Naam Kya Hain" under Amitabh Bachchan's production house ABCL, but the movie was shelved.
After his debut in the 1996 film Dastak, co-starring Sushmita Sen, invitations to portray prominent roles began to dry up. Later, he transitioned to supporting roles in films like Yamla Pagla Deewana and Son of Sardar, among others. His recent film appearance was in the 2022 mystery thriller Anth The End with Divya Dutta, Dev Sharma and Samikssha Bhatnagar.
On the small screen, the 54-year-old actor worked in many popular daily soaps like Gharwali Uparwali, Kasshish and others.
In addition, Mukul also shares a connection with Shah Rukh Khan through his elder brother Rahul Dev, who studied at the same school as SRK. Mukul Dev also finished his education at the same St. Columba's School in Delhi.
