For instance, a claim sharing an alleged photograph of the ad appeared on Instagram (archived) and X (archived) in 2021, Facebook (archived) in 2023 and again on Instagram (archived) in March 2025. Lohan is allegedly the girl in the center with the red plaid shirt on, while Del Rey is purportedly the girl sitting at the bottom holding a soccer ball.
The claim that Lana Del Rey and Lindsay Lohan appeared together as teenagers in an Abercrombie & Fitch ad is true. The photo in question appeared on an Abercrombie & Fitch shopping bag, according to Del Rey.
The musician posted the photo to Instagram (archived) in 2021 and wrote, "Me and Lindsay Lohan on a bag when they did a local Abercrombie recruit for kids." Del Rey's post appeared to be the start of the photo's circulation online. A reverse-image search on Google showed no results earlier than 2021.
In a 2023 TikTok video (archived) for Harper's Bazaar, Del Rey recalled, "We preserved the shopping bag where it's me and Lindsay Lohan. And my sister is on it too. We were very excited because also Lindsay went to school with my cousins and at the time they were all in the same play, 'Cinderella.' So all I wanted to do was go up and tell her, 'you're in the school play with my cousin Maggie Megear!' But I didn't, I played it cool. Even at 13."

If Del Rey, born in 1985, was indeed 13 at the time, it's likely the bag appeared around 1998. We've contacted Abercrombie & Fitch seeking confirmation on the date and will update this piece if we hear back.
Del Rey and Lohan are not the only future celebrities who modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch early in their careers. People magazine collected a list of other notable names including the likes of Taylor Swift, Channing Tatum, Jennifer Lawrence and January Jones.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden's new baby made a surprise appearance with her parents to celebrate Sweden's National Day on Friday, June 6, joining mom and dad to officially open the palace to visitors. And even though she's just an infant, this marks Ines's second official royal appearance. Princess Sofia is on maternity leave at the moment, but she surprised royal watchers by bringing Ines to help open the royal palace in Stockholm Friday. Dressed in a national costume with the colors of the Swedish flag, Sofia held her daughter, who was adorably clad in a matching blue and yellow dress with a white shirt underneath and white tights. In a video shared by Carl Philip and Sofia on Instagram, the couple wrote, "Glad nationaldag🇸🇪 Today we opened the Royal Palace for visitors." They're seen opening the massive wooden doors to the palace with Ines and waving to onlookers before groups of visitors flooded through the gates.
