What do you do when you're rejected as the next James Bond? Turn to food.
Theo James, of White Lotus fame, recently opened a restaurant in London featuring a 'Rome-inspired menu'… whatever that means. Unfortunately, the actor's passion project, Lupa, has been earning some underwhelming reviews since opening in June.

For starters, some diners complained that the food lacked flavor. (Never something you want to hear as a White Man). Some reviewers also reported that they were rushed out the door to make room for more heads. Plus, there wasn't even one shirtless pic of Theo lining the walls. Devastating!
Kidding aside, we're sad for Theo. Celebrity ventures into the restaurant world are always a gamble—it's a brutal industry that eats people alive (even the good-looking ones).
But as a recovering server, I can't help but wonder what Theo is like as an owner. Is he a full-throttle Gordon Ramsay type? Or the soft-spoken kind who tosses around wine terms like 'unctuous,' 'crisp minimality,' and 'a hint of creosote'? Maybe he's just method acting for a guest role on The Bear Season 5, in which case he better call in backup from co-white-boy-of-the-month Jeremy Allen White.
'I've always wanted to get into the restaurant industry,' James recently told British GQ. 'I love food, and curating spaces, and wine.' Specifically of wine, James added, 'Italian wine is great, but you have to get it right.' So true.
If he can't get the wine right, perhaps he should gather three to four dysfunctional wealthy families, let their simmering tensions boil over across six to eight episodes, throw in a mysterious death, and voilà, success. Oh yeah, and change the name from Lupa to The White Lotus. Just a thought!

Scooter Braun addresses if Taylor Swift's revenge track 'Vigilante S---' is about him and his ex

Scooter Braun has seen the theories that Taylor Swift's Midnights revenge track "Vigilante S---" is about him. So is he shaking it off? When asked point-blank if the song's lyrics were about him and his ex-wife, Yael Cohen, Braun had an answer ready. "No, because I talk to Yael every day," Braun said on a new episode of the Question Everything podcast. "My ex-wife is one of my best friends, so me and my ex-wife laugh about that stuff. We don't even call each other 'ex.' That's, like, my partner. That's the mother of my children." In the track, which was released in October 2022, Swift sings, "She needed cold hard proof, so I gave her some / She had the envelope, where you think she got it from? / Now she gets the house, gets the kids, gets the pride / Picture me thick as thieves with your ex-wife / And she looks so pretty, driving in your Benz / Lately she's been dressing for revenge." Braun and Cohen, who share three children, separated in July 2021 and finalized their divorce in September 2022. Given the timing — and all of the previous drama between Swift and Braun over the ownership of Swift's masters that dominated headlines in 2019 — fans did what they do best and speculated that "Vigilante S---" must be about Braun. Swifties also hypothesized that another Midnights track, "Karma," referenced him. The singer has never confirmed whom either song is about, if anyone real. Later on the podcast, Braun insisted that he and Cohen are "family for life." "I have a tattoo on my finger that says 'same team' after my divorce because she and I are on the same team for life," he said. "That's what we say to each other. So no, I never thought that ["Vigilante S---"] was about us. She never thought it was about us, and everyone else kind of feeding into the fire — great strategy move, but, like, nah." After 23 years in the business, Braun announced he was retiring from music management in June 2024. At the time, the entrepreneur and record executive said he was stepping back to focus on his position as CEO of HYBE America and on his family. The news came after he unofficially stepped back the previous year from managing top artists such as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, both of whom helped kick-start his career in the late 2000s. As for Swift, the saga over the ownership of the masters of her music reached a stunning conclusion in May, when the Tortured Poets Department singer revealed that she had bought back her first six albums. Posting a photo of herself surrounded by the vinyl editions of the records, she wrote, "You belong with me." She then published a lengthy letter on her official website in which she stated, "All the music I've ever me." A representative for Braun sent a statement from him to Entertainment Weekly at the time. It read: "I am happy for her." Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

MLB Crowd Record at Speedway Classic in Bristol? Big Draw Set for Braves-Reds

Officials are expecting a record crowd at Bristol Motor Speedway to watch the Cincinnati Reds play the Atlanta Braves in the MLB Speedway Classic on Aug. 2. "We can't wait for next Saturday night ... when that first pitch is thrown out and the stands are full," Jerry Caldwell, Bristol's president and general manager, said Friday. "We'll be setting records, we'll be having attendance records. We'll announcing all those details later on, but we'll be there, I know we will." The largest crowd ever to see a baseball game was 115,300 for a March 2008 exhibition between the Red Sox and Dodgers at Los Angeles Coliseum. Bristol packed in 156,990 for the Battle of Bristol college football game in 2016. Officials showed off the work Friday with a baseball field now sitting on top of the infield inside the half-mile bullring where cars and a building once sat for NASCAR races. Workers still have some finishing touches to put on the field inside the racetrack. Murray Cook, an MLB field and stadium consultant with BrightView, said he's excited to be at this point in the process of building a ballpark. Final touches still remain for the clay along with all the padding and branding, which should be in place by Wednesday at the latest. Crews also held a light check Thursday night to make sure the Musco lights meet MLB standards. "We've had a blast building this," Cook said. Even though the Braves play the Reds in Cincinnati on Aug. 1, the day before the Bristol game, fans are being encouraged to settle in for the big party planned both outside and then inside the racetrack for game day. Caldwell said fans should show up by noon on game day to enjoy the attractions outside the track, including music, a 110-foot Ferris wheel, a food truck row, pitching tunnels and batting cages and team mascots. Once fans head inside, Tim McGraw and Pitbull are scheduled to perform. Demolition started in early June with heavy construction now in high gear to transform Bristol Motor Speedway into a ballpark for the first MLB game in Tennessee. This game features grandstand seating for fans along both baselines. Both teams will be wearing NASCAR-inspired uniforms with details like flames on the brim of the Braves' caps and a finish-line checkerboard for the Reds' caps. The MLB Speedway Classic also will be included in the "MLB The Show 25" video game after an update scheduled for Tuesday. Caldwell said the project has been long in the works. "We're ... thrilled to be able to welcome everyone to Bristol and partner with Major League Baseball, the state of Tennessee and so many others to be able to pull this off," he said.
