Minnesota lawmakers shot: What was found in gunman's car? AK-style rifle, ‘No Kings' flyers and more
(AP photo)
As law enforcement agencies continue their massive manhunt for a man who fatally shot a Democratic state lawmaker and her husband in Minnesota's Brooklyn Park early Saturday, a chilling discovery inside his fake police vehicle is shedding light on what may have motivated the deadly rampage.
He also opened fire at another Democratic Senator
John Hoffman
and his wife, who were seriously wounded by gunshots.
Authorities revealed that the suspect, identified by police sources as Vance Boelter, had outfitted an SUV to resemble a police cruiser, complete with lights, a badge, a Taser, and tactical clothing. But what investigators found inside the car has now added a disturbing layer to the case.
A massive stack of handwritten "No Kings" flyers was recovered from the vehicle, according to state patrol officials, linking the suspect to a growing wave of anti-Trump protests planned nationwide for Saturday, including across Minnesota.

Officials also recovered several AK-style firearms from the suspect's vehicle, a person told Associated Press.
'The photo is of flyers inside the vehicle of the suspect in today's shootings,' read a post by Minnesota State Patrol alongside an image of the leaflets, which were found on the seat of the ditched car.
The flyers, which simply read 'No Kings,' echoed the theme of demonstrations denouncing President Donald Trump.

Although no direct connection has yet been confirmed, authorities said the suspect also carried writings that mentioned the names of several lawmakers, including the victims.
Despite the discovery, "there is no confirmed link between the gunman and the No Kings event," said State Patrol Col Christina Bogojevic.
The attacks, which officials are calling "a politically-motivated assassination," began around 2am when the suspect, dressed in a vest, blue pants, and shirt, posed as a law enforcement officer and opened fire inside the home of state Sen.
John Hoffman in Champlin. Both Hoffman and his wife were seriously wounded.
Moments later, the gunman moved on to the Brooklyn Park residence of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman. He fatally shot the Democrat and her husband before engaging in a gunfight with responding officers. The shooter managed to flee on foot and remains at large.
Governor Tim Walz, who had been scheduled to speak at one of the now-cancelled anti-Trump rallies, described the killings as a targeted political attack.
'This was a politically-motivated assassination,' Walz said.
In response, state officials issued an urgent warning to Minnesotans, asking them to avoid demonstrations across the state 'out of an abundance of caution.'
'Given the targeted shootings of state lawmakers overnight, we are asking the public to not attend today's planned demonstrations across Minnesota,' state patrol said in a statement.
The attack sent shockwaves across the state, with organizers of several 'No Kings' protests opting to cancel events in the wake of the tragedy.
But some demonstrations went ahead regardless, despite warnings of further potential threats.
Police continue to search for Boelter, while also combing through the materials in his abandoned vehicle, including the chilling flyers, to determine whether the shooting spree was part of a broader plot.
Officials are expected to provide further updates as the manhunt and investigation progress.

US military base attacked in this Arab country despite Trump's warning to Iran, country is..., war spreading...
New Delhi: Amid Iran Israel tension, an American air base in Iraq has been attacked by drones. According to reports, three drones were fired on the American military base Ain al-Assad in Anbar Province in western Iraq. American officials have confirmed that all the drones were successfully intercepted and deactivated. Even before this attack, Trump had warned Iran that if its military bases in the region were targeted, the consequences would be very bad. However, it is not yet clear whether this drone came from Iran or a militia group present in Iraq has carried out this attack. This is not the first time as Shia militia groups have targeted American bases in Iraq before as well. But such an attack at a time of Israel Iran tension can increase the risk of war spreading in the region. Trump's threat US President Trump posted on Truth Social, 'The US has nothing to do with the attack on Iran tonight. If we are attacked by Iran in any way, the US will attack with the full force and power of the armed forces, in a way that has never been seen before.' This post came after the IDF statement in which the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Sunday, 15 June 2025 that it has completed a series of attacks on targets in Tehran related to the Iranian regime's nuclear weapons project. Iran had threatened to attack US bases Earlier, Iran had threatened that if Israel is helped by US bases in the region to attack it, then those bases will also be targeted along with Israel. After which the chances of this war spreading to the entire region have increased. The bases were attacked in western Iraq on June 15. This attack holds much significance as it is the first of its kind reported since Israel launched air strike on Iran on June 13 as part of Operation Rising Lion.

Ambedkar row: State SC panel issues notice to Lalu
Patna: Bihar State Commission for Scheduled Castes has issued a notice to RJD chief Lalu Prasad , demanding a response within 15 days as to why a case under the SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act should not be filed against him for allegedly disrespecting a photograph of Dr B R Ambedkar. The incident occurred during Lalu's birthday celebration on June 11. The letter, signed by commission vice-president Devendra Kumar on June 13, read, "You (Lalu) have insulted the photo of Constitution maker Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on your birthday, which is being continuously seen on social media. The insult of Baba Saheb has hurt the honour of not only one class but the entire country. Therefore, give an explanation within 15 days and tell why a case should not be registered against you under the Scheduled Castes, Tribes Atrocities Act. " The controversy arose from a viral video showing an RJD worker placing Ambedkar's picture as a gift on a table near Lalu's feet. Lalu neither acknowledged nor touched the photograph, nor made any comment. The BJP has strongly criticised the incident. In defence, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Lalu's son and former deputy chief minister, accused the BJP of levelling false accusations. Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary wrote on X on Sunday, "It has been more than 36 hours since the video of Baba Saheb's insult came out. The whole of Bihar is hurt by that video, but not even two words of regret have come from RJD. Bihar has definitely seen the arrogance of Lalu's beloved son Tejashwi. Our question is that even after insulting Baba Saheb by keeping his photo near his feet, Lalu's son does not feel it is an insult, then after what other will RJD accept as an insult?" Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor also criticised Lalu and took a swipe at the Congress. "Rahul Gandhi says don't be afraid. Lalu had his feet in front of Baba Saheb's photo. If you have the courage, then show it by giving a statement on it," he said in Muzaffarpur on Sunday. Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here . US President Donald Trump's administration is considering significantly expanding its travel ban by potentially banning citizens of 36 additional countries from entering the United States, according to an internal State Department cable seen by Reuters. read more The administration of US President Donald Trump is weighing a sweeping expansion of its travel ban with a potential prohibition on entry for citizens of 36 additional countries, according to an internal State Department cable reviewed by Reuters. Earlier this month, Trump signed a proclamation barring citizens from 12 countries from entering the United States, citing national security and terrorism-related threats. The move was part of a broader immigration crackdown launched in the early months of his second term, which has included the deportation to El Salvador of hundreds of Venezuelans suspected of being gang members, as well as efforts to deny enrollment of some foreign students from US universities and deport others. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The administration's latest proposal, revealed in a cable signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, identifies 36 nations deemed 'countries of concern' that could face full or partial entry suspensions if they fail to meet US requirements within 60 days. The Washington Post was the first to report on the cable. Among the concerns cited were governments' failure to issue reliable identity documents, lack of cooperation in accepting deported nationals, visa overstays and past involvement of some citizens in terrorist or anti-American activities. The cable noted that not every concern applied to each of the countries listed. Some countries, the cable said, were not cooperative in facilitating the removal of its nationals from the United States who were ordered to be removed. Some countries were overstaying the U.S. visas their citizens were being granted. Other reasons for concern were the nationals of the country were involved in acts of terrorism in the United States, or antisemitic and anti-American activity. The cable noted that not all of these concerns pertained to every country listed. The countries that could face a full or a partial ban if they do not address these concerns within the next 60 days are: Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cote D'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Dominica, Ethiopia, Egypt, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, South Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD That would be a significant expansion of the ban that came into effect earlier this month. The countries affected were Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. The entry of people from seven other countries – Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela – has also been partially restricted. During his first in office, Trump announced a ban on travelers from seven Muslim-majority nations, a policy that went through several iterations before it was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2018.
