Marcos wants PWDs to have safe access to transportation
''Ang instruction nga ng Pangulo tulad ng nasabi ko kanina, siguraduhin na may safe na public transport at accessible na public transport para sa ating mga kababayan na may kapansanan,'' DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian said in a Palace press briefing.
(The President gave an instruction for the DSWD to ensure safe and accessible public transport for PWDs.)
Gatchalian earlier inspected three electric buses intended for persons with disabilities at the DSWD Central Office.
The provision of electric vehicles is under the DSWD's Sustainable Livelihood Program's (SLP) Persons with Disabilities – Electric Transportation Service (PWD-ETS) Project.
The PWD-ETS is a pilot project that aims to provide livelihood grants to persons with disabilities in SLPAs to purchase electric vehicles that are disability-friendly.
The said project will enable the beneficiaries to earn income while helping other persons with disabilities to safely access modes of transportation. Each SLPA is composed of 115 members who are all persons with disabilities from 10 local government units in Metro Manila.
Gatchalian said the DSWD would work with the Department of Transportation to scale up this measure.
''The goal talaga is palawakin, palawigin, paramihin not just in Metro Manila but also in the other Metro areas para mas magkaroon ng accessible at safe na space para sa ating mga people with disability,'' he said.

''The problem is not online gambling. The problem are the social effects on our children and those who are addicted to gambling, President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. said the government has yet to formulate a policy on online gambling. In an interview with GMA Integrated News, Marcos was asked why online gambling was not mentioned in his last State of the Nation Address (SONA). He said he started organizing a conference among affected stakeholders about the matter. ''Because we had not, we still have to form the policy on what we are going to do about online gambling. And to this end, I have already started to organize a... shall we, to convene a conference of those who are... all the stakeholders. The lawmakers have also proposed stricter regulations for online gambling, as they said a total ban would only lead to the public heading to illegal operations. Marcos will study the calls to ban online gambling, Malacañang earlier said. Earlier, online gaming operators licensed with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) expressed opposition over proposals for a total ban on online gambling in the country. PH needs to compete with digitalized neighboring countries

DILG Remulla says Marcos wants 'red carpet treatment' for GMR Group —DILG
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. wants a "red carpet treatment" for the GMR Group, a strategic partner of the Sangley Aerocity Project. This was according to Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla, who is part of Marcos' delegation in the five-day state visit to India. Marcos met with top executives of the GMR Group at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi on Wednesday. ''Ang direktiba niya ay red carpet treatment para sa GMR. Sa lahat ng kailangan nila mula sa Philippine Navy, sa DOTr (Department of Transportation), sa DTI (Department of Trade and Industry), sa Department of Finance, red carpet treatment ang ibigay nila para masigurado na ang investment ay darating at giginhawa ang Pilipinas,'' Remulla said in an interview. ''His directive is to provide a red carpet treatment for GMR. For everything it needs from the Philippine Navy, the DOTr, the DTI, and the Department of Finance, they should give a red carpet treatment to ensure the investments for the Philippines.) Remulla said GMR Group was involved in the construction of the international airports in Cebu and Clark. The GMR Group is also involved in developing an international airport and surrounding aerotropolis at the Sangley Point in Cavite. The said project is expected to create 10,000 to 15,000 jobs.
