Josh Ford still saving up for surgery to fix his ear drum after 2023 car accident

Josh Ford has a perforated ear drum after the tragic car accident that took the life of his fellow actor Andrei Sison and two others back in 2023. The former "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" housemate was the only survivor of the crash, which gave him the moniker "Ang Survivor Lad ng United Kingdom" inside Bahay ni Kuya. On the sidelines of the GMA Gala 2025, GMA News Online spoke to Josh about the surgery he needs for his left ear, which he previously revealed to house guest Gabbi Garcia in PBB. "I'm still trying to save up for the surgery and if I have time sana magawa ko na rin," he said. "Kasi it takes a while for it to heal. Mahaba 'yung recovery period niya." "Hopefully soon, magawa ko na. Blessings for more income, more money para lang magawa ko na," he added. Josh told Gabbi he has two holes in his ear drum and he is slowly losing his hearing in the left ear. The doctor initially said there's a chance it might heal by itself, but in a checkup before entering PBB, he was told he would need surgery. To protect his ear, Josh wears an earpiece when showering or swimming. The Filipino-British actor also said he did not want to burden his mother with the surgery costs. "My dad was the only provider talaga, my mom was a housewife. Tapos nung nawala siya, wala, lahat napunta sa mom ko. So ayoko naman ilagay rin sa kanya 'to," he said. Josh currently stars in the second season of Kapuso youth-oriented series "Maka." He previously appeared in GMA Prime series "My Guardian Alien," "Luv Is: Love At First Read," and "Jose and Maria's Bonggang Villa." The actor is also part of the roster of "host-mates" of Kapuso morning show "Unang Hirit." —CDC, GMA Integrated News

Heart Evangelista, now in her 40s, enters 'soft power era': ‘I've channeled my energy towards building my future'

Now in her 40s, Heart Evangelista is entering her 'soft power era,' where she no longer needs to shout just to be heard. In Boy Abunda's interview with the Global Fashion Icon during a GCash event Tuesday, Heart shared that her 40s are all about being at peace. 'I feel like in your 40s, it comes with that innate poise that really comes with experiences,' she said. 'I did a lot of healing.' 'But now that I'm 40, I'm glad I made it to 40, literally. I really went through a war path." Heart reflected on how her perspective has shifted over the years, sharing that she is no longer preoccupied with pleasing others or winning their approval. 'In an interview with you before, I said that I've given myself away so many times because I wanted people to like me,' she said. 'I allowed them to chop me up and sell pieces of me just to make people happy,' she added. But nowadays, Heart has been focusing her time and energy on more meaningful pursuits. 'I am not going to waste my energy,' she said. 'I have channeled my energy towards building my future, towards being productive.' 'For those people who understand, there's a mutual respect with the kind of woman that I am today, and it's the same with people that I speak to." Heart was among the Kapuso celebrities who lit up the blue carpet of the GMA Gala 2025 earlier in August. She turned heads in a couture Schiaparelli gown from the Fall 2023 collection, the piece featuring multicolored hand-painted fabric from neck to hem. Before the GMA Gala 2025, Heart attended the fourth State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr in July. Heart Evangelista and Boy Abunda return to GCash Spotlight for the second year. | @gmanews — Hermes Joy Tunac (@hermes_tunac) August 12, 2025 —CDC, GMA Integrated News
