Heart Evangelista, now in her 40s, enters 'soft power era': ‘I've channeled my energy towards building my future'
In Boy Abunda's interview with the Global Fashion Icon during a GCash event Tuesday, Heart shared that her 40s are all about being at peace.
'I feel like in your 40s, it comes with that innate poise that really comes with experiences,' she said. 'I did a lot of healing.'
'But now that I'm 40, I'm glad I made it to 40, literally. I really went through a war path."
Heart reflected on how her perspective has shifted over the years, sharing that she is no longer preoccupied with pleasing others or winning their approval.
'In an interview with you before, I said that I've given myself away so many times because I wanted people to like me,' she said.
'I allowed them to chop me up and sell pieces of me just to make people happy,' she added.
But nowadays, Heart has been focusing her time and energy on more meaningful pursuits.
'I am not going to waste my energy,' she said. 'I have channeled my energy towards building my future, towards being productive.'
'For those people who understand, there's a mutual respect with the kind of woman that I am today, and it's the same with people that I speak to."
Heart was among the Kapuso celebrities who lit up the blue carpet of the GMA Gala 2025 earlier in August.
She turned heads in a couture Schiaparelli gown from the Fall 2023 collection, the piece featuring multicolored hand-painted fabric from neck to hem.
Before the GMA Gala 2025, Heart attended the fourth State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr in July.

Alden Richards on Men Who Matter 2025 trophy: 'Parang nagbubunga 'yung works ko behind the camera'
Alden Richards is among the recipients of the Men Who Matter 2025 by PeopleAsia magazine, and for the Kapuso star, the honor serves as motivation for him to keep pursuing his passions and advocacy work. In Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras" Wednesday, the Asia's Multimedia Star shared that he is now in the "legacy building stage" of his life. "Sarap lang sa pakiramdam kasi parang nagbubunga lahat 'yung mga works ko behind the camera," he said. "I'm in my legacy building stage and the question every day that pops in my head is, 'How do you want to be remembered by the people around you?' And that's the reason why I keep on doing what I'm doing." Alden had made his directorial debut in "Out of Order," which premiered at the Da Nang Asian Film Festival in June. The passionate cyclist also recently finished his first-ever gravel cycling race, an experience he called "humbling." "Ang sarap lang sa pakiramdam na the only thing that matters to me that time was, of course safety is number one, but it was just me, the bike, the terrain, and the finish line. Ang saya, uultiin ko 'yun." And in July, he enrolled in a flight school. Of his aviation journey, he said, "The reason why it's happening to me right now is alam ni Lord one way or another that I'm gonna be able to finish that. I'm taking it one step at a time. Wala akong minamadali." Alden currently balances all these while serving as host of the Kapuso reality dance competition "Stars on the Floor." Per Alden, the people in the show all got to build solid relationships with each other. "Now that we're reaching almost the end, 'di pa po tapos mga Kapuso pero almost the end, medyo may konting melancholic feeling lang, but kaya naman. Malay mo Season 2 no?" "Stars on the Floor" airs on GMA Network every Saturday at 7:15 p.m. —CDC, GMA Integrated News

Heart Evangelista unbothered by fashion bashers: 'I'm not really affected'
Heart Evangelista remains unbothered about the negative comments being thrown her way regarding fashion. At GCash's event Tuesday in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, the Global Fashion Icon said people will always have something negative to say, but she does not mind them. "You can bash me with anything, but that part [fashion], I'm not really affected," she said. "If I want to throw in something that totally doesn't match, but I feel good, it will automatically look good," she added. "That's how I believe." Nevertheless, Heart is grateful that Filipinos are active on social media because of their witty comments on her posts. "I'm thankful that Filipinos are so active on socials, a good thing and a bad thing, because it really helps," she said.
