The 'Dawson's Creek' cast to reunite for cancer benefit and James Van Der Beek
James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams and more will gather together Sept. 22 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City.
The cast will give a live reading of the show's pilot episode for a one-night-only charity event called 'Dawson's Creek Class Reunion.'
The event will benefit the nonprofit F Cancer and
Van Der Beek, Holmes, Jackson and Williams will be joined onstage by several other stars of the show, including Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe and Busy Philipps.
Kevin Williamson, who created 'Dawson's Creek,' will serve as one of the benefit's producers.
'I am so excited to reunite with James, Michelle, Katie, Joshua, and our 'Dawson's Creek' family for such a special night.' Williamson said in a statement. ''Dawson's Creek' changed my life. What began as a personal story about a young man and his friends navigating their way through the challenges of life became so much more than I ever dreamed. It created an enduring fandom and legacy all over the world.
'I am so honored to be a part of it and to support our beautiful friend, James, as we continue to navigate our way through life and its many challenges,' he added.
Williams said in a separate statement that the show's stars 'grew up in Capeside,' the show's fictional Massachusetts setting, where they formed 'a bond that will last a lifetime.'
'We wanted to gather around our dear friend James and remind him that we are all here. We always have been and we always will be. And I know the fans of 'Dawson's Creek' feel the same way,' Williams added.
Van Der Beek teased the event by sharing a throwback picture on Instagram that showed him posing alongside Jackson, Holmes and Williams. He set the image to the show's theme song, 'I Don't Want to Wait' by Paula Cole, and included the quote, 'If we were truly meant to be, then we'll find a way back to each other.'
'Dawson's Creek' aired on The WB from 1998-2003 and followed a group of young people through their teenage and young adult years.
News of the benefit event comes about a month after a news release announced that Holmes and Jackson would co-star in a film trilogy, set to be written and directed by Holmes.
Van Der Beek went public with his cancer diagnosis in November 2024.
The 48-year-old actor told TODAY.com in July that since his diagnosis, he's been practicing yoga, experimenting with a keto diet and finding other ways to support his health.
'I'm just on the journey. ... It's a process. It'll probably be a process for the rest of my life,' he shared.
Van Der Beek, who was 46 when he learned he had cancer, said the diagnosis came as a shock.
'I ate as well as I could. I was healthy. I was in amazing cardiovascular shape,' he said. 'There was no reason in my mind that I should have gotten a positive diagnosis.'
Since his diagnosis, Van Der Beek has been committed to spreading awareness about the importance of early screenings and detection as more people under 50 are being diagnosed.
'Guys I see at the gas station, people come up to me at a coffee shop, I appreciate it every time,' he said of fans who thank him for his candor about his health.
'That's been stuff that really makes me cry. When people say, 'I got checked, I got a colonoscopy, I got a polyp removed,' ... just to save somebody that journey.'

Tennis star Sachia Vickery reveals smart $1k deposit men must submit before date
The post Tennis star Sachia Vickery reveals smart $1k deposit men must submit before date appeared first on ClutchPoints. Sachia Vickery has never shied away from being outspoken, on or off the tennis court. The 29-year-old, currently ranked No. 559 in the world, recently stirred conversation after opening up about her personal life, her venture into OnlyFans, and a unique dating policy that demands a $1,000 pre-date deposit, per Complex. Vickery shared the revelation during an Instagram Q&A, where fans asked her everything from tennis ambitions to why she joined the platform. 'It's the easiest money I've ever made and I enjoy doing it,' Vickery said, adding that her experience completely changed how she views women who monetize content online. 'The amount I made in my first two days, I am overwhelmed. I am just shook.' The $1,000 Rule Among her more surprising answers, Vickery declared she no longer dates without security up front. 'I now require a pre-date deposit,' she told fans. 'Send me 1,000 and we can make it happen.' To prove she was serious, Vickery posted a screengrab of a payment labeled 'For go out on a date,' telling followers to think of it as a 'future investment.' The policy, she explained, stems from her past experiences with men and her decision to protect her time and energy. It quickly drew attention online, sparking debates about self-worth, standards, and whether athletes and celebrities should apply the same mindset to their personal relationships as they do to their careers. OnlyFans, Representation, and Tennis Vickery's move onto OnlyFans initially raised eyebrows, but she has pushed back on misconceptions. Her representative told People that her content is 'suggestive,' not explicit, and that the platform gave her a way to earn while recovering from a major injury that kept her sidelined for six months. With subscriptions set at $12.99 a month, she labels her content 'too spicy for Instagram,' but insists it doesn't define her career. 'What Ms. Vickery does on the OnlyFans platform should not be considered sex work,' her rep clarified, countering claims from earlier reports. The Florida-born athlete has also been candid about deeper struggles, including racial abuse and body shaming she has faced as a woman of color in tennis. She addressed those issues on the Black Spin Global Podcast earlier this year, saying she refuses to stay silent. Now back in competition, Sachia Vickery is in New York chasing a spot in the US Open through qualifiers, while also building a conversation about independence, empowerment, and setting standards—on and off the court. Watch Britney Spears Dance to Ex Justin Timberlake's Song While Wearing a Green String Bikini on a Boat: ‘Out Here in This Water!'
Even Britney Spears likes to listen to a little bit of Justin Timberlake here and there. In a video posted to the pop star's Instagram on Wednesday, Spears enjoys a day on the water, wearing a green bikini while filming herself dancing on a boat. In the background, JT and Timbaland's 'Carry Out' plays. 'Me and this man are out here in this water!' she says excitedly, showing off her remote location for the camera. 'Look at us! Sorry, I'm a nerd.' Spears' use of Timberlake's 2009 hit — which reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 — is sure to turn heads, considering the two stars' history. The pair dated from 1999 to 2002, and in her 2023 memoir, the 'Toxic' singer shared a few unflattering revelations about her famous ex-boyfriend, including how he allegedly cheated on her during their relationship. Even so, Spears has supported her ex's music in the past. In 2024, she gushed that she was 'so in love with Justin Timberlake's new song 'Selfish,'' and this past March, she shared a video of herself dancing by a fireplace to the former *NSYNC member's 'Señorita.' The performer's post comes a few weeks after Timberlake made headlines for revealing his Lyme disease diagnosis in a message to fans shared just after the close of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. 'If you've experienced this disease or know someone who has — then you're aware: living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically,' he wrote at the time. 'When I first got the diagnosis I was shocked for sure. But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness.' Spears, on the other hand, has been having fun sharing bits of her life with followers on social media in recent months, including her hangouts with son Jayden.
