Jets and receiver Garrett Wilson agree on a 4-year, $130M contract extension, AP source says
NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Jets and wide receiver Garrett Wilson have agreed on a four-year, $130 million contract extension, a person familiar with the situation said Monday.
The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the agreement had not been announced.

Wilson, drafted 10th overall in 2022, was the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year that season and has more than 1,000 yards receiving in each of his first three years — the first player in franchise history to do so.
In all, Wilson has caught 279 passes for 3,249 yards and 14 touchdowns.
The extension represents a significant commitment from general manager Darren Mougey and new coach Aaron Glenn, who have focused on making the roster younger in their first offseason together in New York.
They picked up the fifth-year options on Wilson, Sauce Gardner and Jermaine Johnson during this past offseason, setting the stage for Wilson's new extension, which runs through the 2030 season.

'I'm hopeful I'm a Jet for life,' Wilson said in May. "And that we get this thing rolling and that all of our best days are ahead of us.'
Wilson had two years and $20.3 million remaining on his rookie deal. With the extension, he's now under contract for six seasons at $150.3 million.
Next up for extensions could be Gardner and Johnson. Gardner has said earlier that negotiations between his representatives, which include agent AJ Vaynerchuk, and the Jets already have begun.

Kirby Smart praises Gunner Stockton's leadership but he's not crowned Georgia's QB1 yet
ATLANTA (AP) — Kirby Smart hasn't officially named Gunner Stockton starting quarterback at Georgia, but it doesn't matter. Since stepping foot on campus, Stockton has prepared like the job is going to be his. Smart said Stockton's commitment to preparation is one of the things he admires most. 'He prepared every game as if he was the starter,' Smart said Tuesday at SEC media days. 'People can say that and say that's coach-speak, but he actually did it. He went in, watched extra tape, and he knew that in any point in time, he could be called up to go into the game and play.' Stockton finished the 2024 season with 45 completions for 440 yards, a touchdown and an interception in five games: He stepped in for an injured Carson Beck and led the Bulldogs to a 22-19 overtime victory over Texas in the SEC Championship and started in the Sugar Bowl loss to Notre Dame. He was was 20 of 32 for 234 yards and a TD in the playoff semifinal. It was enough to give Smart confidence that Beck's successor was already in the quarterback room. 'He didn't play in a normal environment where you've got a big lead, maybe you're beating an opponent,' Smart said. 'He went in against a top defense in the country in one of the biggest games of the season and performed well for a guy that had not gotten a lot of reps with the (starters). So I thought he handled that moment well and he taught a lot of our young players that you've got to be prepared and ready.' Stockton earned the short trip to Atlanta for this week's event and was peppered with more questions than teammates CJ Allen and Daylen Everette. '(Bringing Stockton) was a message about leadership,' said Smart. 'He's separated himself as a great leader of the team and you try to bring people here that can affect others. He's done that in spring practice.' The starting job isn't necessarily a layup for Stockton. Ryan Puglisi is eyeing the role too. 'Ryan is doing awesome too. Ryan and (Stockton) are going to be competing for everything they do. Gunner knows he's got to go out and play well,' Smart said. If Stockton stays the course, the offense will be his to lead on Aug. 30, when Georgia hosts Marshall in the season opener. 'He's done a tremendous job this summer. Talked to the staff about it and felt like the play he had at the end of the year last year... what he's done this spring, he deserved to come. FOX News Media announced Tuesday it has landed a licensing deal with the popular "Ruthless" podcast as part of the company's expansion into new media. "The FOX News Media ecosystem we have built over the past seven years continues to thrive and set new records, and the 'Ruthless' deal is a natural extension of our powerhouse brand as audiences reshape how they consume quality content," FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement Tuesday. "We have cultivated an unrivaled bench of successful personalities who are well-positioned to excel in today's evolving media landscape, where podcasting offers the kind of deep engagement our platforms are known for." Fox News Digital President and Editor-in-Chief Porter Berry will be expanding his role to oversee the new media venture. What began as a tiny audio podcast has become one of the most iconic conservative brands in the digital age. "Ruthless" was launched in October 2020 by Republican strategist Josh Holmes and the internet personality known as Comfortably Smug with the mission of bringing fun to conservative politics. Liberals were immediately incensed by its name as "Ruthless" made its debut just days after the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. "We felt like there was a real hole in the conservative media landscape for people who enjoy politics, but want to have fun while doing it. They want to know what's really going on, but could do without the ideological lecture," Holmes told Fox News Digital at the time of the launch. Michael Duncan and John Ashbrook, who worked alongside Holmes in their day jobs at their consulting firm Calvary, would later join "Ruthless" as co-hosts, rounding out the personalities on the "variety progrum." The "Ruthless" co-hosts have sought to bridge the divide among conservatives between the more traditional, establishment Republicans and the MAGA base. Holmes, Duncan and Ashbrook are all veteran staffers of outgoing Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., while Smug cultivated his following on the online right. But perhaps at the center of the podcast's growing audience is the trust the co-hosts have earned from their listeners. Holmes, Smug, Duncan and Ashbrook aren't afraid to discuss hard truths for conservatives over the years, from tackling Trump's defeat in the 2020 election to the underwhelming 2022 midterm results for Republicans. They also provide insight from their experience on Capitol Hill to explain the complexities of legislation, most recently the passing of the One Big Beautiful Bill. Politico dubbed "Ruthless" stars the "bad boys of conservative talk" with many outlets declaring the podcast the right's answer to "Pod Save America," the influential left-wing podcast hosted by former Obama aides and speechwriters often referred to as "Obama Bros." A recent poll conducted by National Research, Inc. found that "Ruthless" is a top news source among men ages 18-45. The influence of "Ruthless" reached all the way to the White House as Ashbrook was among the first to sit in the "new media" seat established by the Trump administration for the White House press briefing, which wasn't to the elite media's liking. "I've interacted with a lot of these same reporters as a press secretary back in the day. So, when I walked into the room, I saw a lot of eye rolls and a lot of smirks and that is exactly what I was hoping for," Ashbrook told Fox News' Will Cain in January.
