Jalek Swoll extends Factory Triumph contract through 2026
'I'm super-excited to announce my contract extension with Triumph Factory Racing,' Swoll said in a news release. 'I'm also really proud of what we've achieved together since I joined the team and I'm excited to keep building on what we've delivered so far.
'I was in a really good place with my speed before my injury this off-season and I was ready to contend for wins, so when I'm back racing the goal remains the same. Being offered a contract extension while being injured isn't something I'm taking for granted and I can't wait to be back at the races with the team and showing everyone what we can do.'
Swoll was scheduled to ride in the Monster Energy Supercross 250 West division until he injured his Achilles tendon in a practice crash. He moved to the Eastern roster, but with the severity of the injury, he will not return until the Pro Motocross seasons, according to the release.
And that is good news for another reason. As the only Factory Triumph rider last year, he gave the iconic British brand its first Supercross top-five in an East / West Showdown in Nashville, Tennessee, and its first podium with a third-place finish in Unadilla, New York. Swoll immediately followed that with another Motocross top-five in Mechanicsville, Maryland, the following week.
Factory Triumph increased to a four-rider roster in 2025.
Swoll qualified for the 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship before suffering an injury in the first playoff race in Concord, North Carolina.

The overall NPS stood at +3.7 across the 27 manufacturers assessed, with the leading five brands each garnering scores of 40 and above. Notably, leasing companies reported the 'biggest decline' in their satisfaction with access to vehicle data and the availability of connected services. BMW maintained its position as the best-performing OEM overall. The survey reached out to 64 BVRLA members and received responses from 44% of them, representing a diverse range of leasing operations. Participants were asked to limit their feedback to a maximum of 20 manufacturers, focusing on those with which they had substantial dealings. Speaking to Fleet News, BVRLA head of research and insight Phil Garthside said: 'Some OEMs are clearly setting the standard while others have an opportunity to improve by adopting best practices. 'The new entrants are working hard to get on leasing company radars, and it's paying off. They're not just adding variety to choice lists; they're competing on service and ease of doing business.' In January, the BVRLA reported a 1.4% growth in its leasing fleet for 2024. This increase has been largely driven by heightened interest in electric vehicles provided by companies. This growth has helped mitigate the impact of a decline in demand for personal lease agreements and vans, as detailed in the BVRLA's Leasing Outlook report. Tennis star Emma Raducanu asks umpire to remove crying child from stadium during Cincinnati Open match
Tennis star Emma Raducanu wasn't happy with a certain spectator at the Cincinnati Open on Monday, and she wanted the chair umpire to do something about it. The spectator in question? A crying child. The British star was trailing 4-3 in the third set against top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka as the child continued to cry from the seats. Raducanu was clearly disturbed by the noise, and she paused play to ask the chair umpire to address it. The umpire's response wasn't audible, but Raducanu could clearly be heard. "It's been like 10 minutes," she said. "It's a child," the chair umpire fired back. "Do you want me to send the child out of the stadium?" Raducanu gestured to the stands, where a plethora of yeses were heard. "I can call in," the chair umpire said after hearing the crowd. "But we need to continue for the moment." While Raducanu won the next point, Sabalenka won the match after winning the third-set tiebreak, 7-5. After the match, Raducanu said she was "proud" of pushing Sabalenka to the point of a third-set tiebreak to determine who won the third-round match. "She's world No. 1 for a reason," she said, via TNT Sports. "I pushed her more than I did at Wimbledon, so that's an improvement. Also, it was good to have this result on a hard court because it's very different to grass, and I've always thought grass suits me a lot more – and I still believe that. "So, to have pushed her on a hard court like that, I'm pretty proud." Raducanu is currently 39th in WTA rankings ahead of the 2025 U.S. Open in Queens, New York, which begins on Aug. 18.

'Opportunity a lot of kids didn't get to have.' Indy baseball team competes in RBI World Series
Show Caption Indianapolis-based Indy RBI played in the RBI World Series last week, losing in the championship game. Notre Dame recruit Desmond Francis said it was "truly a blessing" after leading the team with a .447 batting average. Participating in the 2025 RBI Baseball World Series meant more to Park Tudor senior Desmond Francis than just playing baseball. Francis, Mayo Fernandez (Fishers), Maalik Perkins (Whiteland), Theo Kramer (Lawrence North) and several other Indy-area baseball players led Indy RBI to the championship game against Arizona Diamondbacks RBI at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida on Friday. "Being able to play at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex was a blessing," Francis said. "I'd never been there. I saw it on social media, but I never really had a grasp of what it looked like. Going to the stadium, to the backfields, the complexes and facilities, it was truly a blessing. "Playing in the championship game, at night, with high energy, the crowd, TV (cameras), mics and everything. ... It's an opportunity a lot of kids didn't get to have. I'm happy that it's something my teammates and coaches got to share together." Indy RBI went 5-0 during regional play in Kansas City, Missouri, earning a trip to the World Series. Indy advanced to the championship game with wins over Detroit Tigers RBI and NOLA RBI before falling to D-Backs RBI 5-4 in the championship on MLB Network. Nick Johnson (Lawrence Central) led Indy going 1-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs. Over 11 games, Francis, a Notre Dame recruit, led Indy with a .447 batting average, one double, two triples, 11 RBIs, 10 runs scored and nine stolen bases. Jayden Adorno (Columbus North) was the team's top pitcher, striking out six over 13⅓ innings with a 3.67 ERA. "It was extremely fun. Some of the most fun I've had. We meshed really, really well on the field, and we meshed really, really well off the field," Francis said. "We treated each other like brothers off the field and played like we'd been together for 10 years. "It was a really good experience. Everybody was hyped, excited and wanted to play the game of baseball." RBI is a program run by Major League Baseball created to give youth from underserved and diverse communities the chance to play baseball. It uses the sport to teach life lessons while stressing academic success and core values like teamwork. More than 200 RBI alum have been selected in the MLB draft during the program's 36-year history, including active players Taj Bradley (Minnesota Twins), Lawrence Butler (Athletics'), J.P. Crawford (Seattle Mariners), Hunter Greene (Cincinnati Reds) and Michael Harris II (Atlanta Braves). RBI hopes to revive interest in baseball within diverse communities, reversing a troubling trend in participation among Black players. The MLB reached an all-time high in 1981 when 18.7% of the league consisted of Black players, according to By 2016, the percentage of Black players in the MLB had fallen to 6.7%. This season, 59 Black players appeared on Opening Day active and inactive lists, per "Throughout travel ball you don't get much experience with players that look like you," Francis said. "It's especially hard in Indiana, you don't see it a lot. Being able to play with guys that look like me, we've shared the same experiences, Black and Brown kids with different backgrounds, they go to different schools. That was really fun. "It was a really competitive tournament and there were a lot of great, talented players there."
