Trial underway for suspect in 2023 killing outside Carolina Forest Planet Fitness gym
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Opening statements started Tuesday in the Horry County murder trial of one of two men accused in the killing of a 20-year-old man outside a Planet Fitness gym in Carolina Forest, according to the 15th Circuit Solicitor's Office.
Abdullah Seifullah, 45, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and criminal conspiracy in the June 2023 death of David Roldan-Dimas, 20, of York County.
Roldan-Dimas was shot and killed while he sat in a black Chevrolet Camaro on Glenforest Road, according to authorities, who said the Camaro had hit a parked Nissan SUV.
Seifullah and Branden Huertas, were arrested on unrelated charges in February 2024 in Connecticut. Seifullah was returned to Horry County and booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center last February, according to online records.
Huertas was extradited to Horry County in November and charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, accessory before the fact and accessory after the fact. He was scheduled to stand trial in March but has since entered a plea and is waiting to be sentenced, according to Horry County's online public records.
Both men remain in the Reuben Long Detention Center.

Driver in stolen car crashes into 4 vehicles evading CHP, gun recovered
(KRON) – A loaded rifle was found in a stolen Nissan last week, according to the California Highway Patrol. At around 4:21 p.m. on May 31, CHP Oakland Division pulled over a gray Nissan Altima without license plates on Interstate 80 westbound near Ashby Avenue. Authorities said the driver stopped and parked, but then accelerated into traffic and crashed into four vehicles. Los Angeles Mayor Bass signs city budget to preserve services, bolster police force
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass signed the city budget on Friday. The newly signed budget will preserve city services like street repair, traffic management and parks and library programming maintenance. It will also help to bring new jobs to the Los Angeles Police Department, according to the mayor's office. 'City Council leadership will identify funds for an additional 240 recruits within 90 days,' Bass' office said in a press release. 'The money will be used after LAPD fulfills hiring 240 officers.' Deputies arrest Florence County residential care center employee after EMS workers find facility unstaffed
FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Florence County deputies arrested an employee of a residential care facility on Friday after EMS workers went to the facility and found no staff members on the premises, authorities said. Deputies were called at about 7 a.m. to the Above the Rest Residential Care Facility at 2385 Pamplico Highway. They were eventually able to locate an employee, who they learned had outstanding General Sessions bench warrants, the sheriff's office said. The person, whose name has not been released, was taken to the Florence County Detention Center, deputies said. Additional charges are possible, and more information is expected to be made available as the investigation continues. The sheriff's office was not able to say how many residents lived at the facility. This is a developing story.
