Apple iPhone 17 Pro new MagSafe design leaked: Here is what you need to know
This design tweak hints at a bold rear look that aligns with the rumoured horizontal camera bar stretching across the phone's back, blending form and function. While existing MagSafe accessories will stay compatible, this refresh could mean faster wireless charging and an updated aesthetic ready for a September 2025 launch.
Stay tuned to find out why this subtle reimagining of MagSafe might redefine how we accessories and experience our next flagship iPhone.
iPhone 17 Pro expected launch timeline
Apple usually follows a consistent launch schedule, and the iPhone 17 base model is expected to be revealed between September 11-13, 2025. Pre-orders could begin immediately after the official unveiling, and if Apple sticks to its traditional timeline, the iPhone 17 series may go on sale around September 19, 2025.

Majin Bu, the leaker, posted a picture of purported MagSafe magnet arrays for third-party iPhone 17 Pro cases. The magnets on current iPhone models with MagSafe create a full circle, whereas the new design has a hole.
According to Majin Bu and Sonny Dickson, the iPhone 17 Pro models' larger camera bump will cause the Apple logo on the back to be positioned lower than it is on current iPhone models.
The new MagSafe design will guarantee the logo is fully visible when an updated MagSafe case protects the devices.
This modification seems to be cosmetic, with no functional enhancement, as iPhone case manufacturer sources informed Majin Bu that current MagSafe accessories will continue to work with the iPhone 17 Pro versions.
According to various rumours, with a future iteration of Apple's MagSafe Charger, the iPhone 17 Pro models may offer at least higher MagSafe charging speeds than earlier generations.

iPhone 17 Pro's other expected specifications
iPhone 17 Pro Performance
Apple's next-generation A19 Pro CPU, which promises improved efficiency and appreciable increases in overall speed and capability, is anticipated to power the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.
However, the A18 chip—the same CPU currently available in the iPhone 16 series—will probably be retained in the regular iPhone 17 and the 17 Air.
iPhone 17 Pro Camera
In a research note dated August 2024, Analyst Jeff Pu forecasted that all four iPhone 17 series models will include a 24MP front-facing camera, which would significantly advance above the 12MP selfie camera found in the iPhone 16 lineup.
In January 2024, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo subsequently reaffirmed this prediction. In October 2024, Pu also disclosed that a revamped horizontal triple-lens rear camera system, including a 48MP telephoto sensor with 3.5x optical zoom, is anticipated to be included in the iPhone 17 Pro.
iPhone 17 Pro's expected price in India
In 2025, Apple is anticipated to keep the base iPhone models priced at the same level. Early rumors suggest that the iPhone 17 may start at ₹89,900 when it launches in India, while the recently released iPhone 17 Air may retail for Rs 99,900.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to cost Rs 1,39,900 and Rs 1,64,900 on the top end of the price spectrum. There may be pricing changes closer to the formal announcement because these numbers are based on early leaks and have not yet been officially confirmed by Apple.

Foxconn second quarter revenue rises 15.82% on year
Taiwan's Foxconn , the world's largest contract electronics maker, reported record second-quarter revenue on strong demand for artificial intelligence products but cautioned about geopolitical and exchange rate headwinds. Revenue for Apple 's biggest iPhone assembler jumped 15.82% year-on-year to T$1.797 trillion, Foxconn said in a statement on Saturday, beating the T$1.7896 trillion LSEG SmartEstimate, which gives greater weight to forecasts from analysts who are more consistently accurate. Robust AI demand led to strong revenue growth for its cloud and networking products division, said Foxconn, whose customers include AI chip firm Nvidia. Smart consumer electronics, which includes iPhones, posted 'flattish' year-on-year revenue growth affected by exchange rates, it said. June revenue roses 10.09% on year to T$540.237 billion, a record high for that month. Foxconn said it anticipates growth in this quarter from the previous three months and from the same period last year but cautioned about potential risks to growth. "The impact of evolving global political and economic conditions and exchange rate changes will need continued close monitoring," it said without elaborating. U.S. President Donald Trump said he had signed letters to 12 countries outlining the various tariff levels they would face on goods they export to the United States, with the "take it or leave it" offers to be sent out on Monday. The Chinese city of Zhengzhou is home to the world's largest iPhone manufacturing facility, operated by Foxconn. The company, formally called Hon Hai Precision Industry, does not provide numerical forecasts. It will report full second quarter earnings on August 14. Foxconn's shares jumped 76% last year, far outperforming the 28.5% rise for the Taiwan market, but are down 12.5% so far this year, reflecting broader pressure on tech stocks rattled by Trump's tumultuous trade policy. The stock closed down 1.83% on Friday ahead of the revenue data release, compared with a 0.73% drop for the benchmark index.

iPhone 17 Pro series may get redesigned camera bar, repositioned Apple logo
Apple's iPhone 17 Pro may introduce a notable redesign, as newly surfaced images of the Pro and Pro Max models point to a repositioned Apple logo and a full-width rear camera bar replacing the traditional corner bump. According to a report by 9To5Mac, an X (formerly Twitter) user, Majin Bu, shared pictures of what are expected to be the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. iPhone 17 Pro: Expected design According to images shared by Majin Bu, Apple appears to be moving toward a dual-tone design featuring an all-aluminium frame along with an aluminium camera bump. That said, a glass section will remain to support wireless charging, MagSafe, and pass-through features. One notable design element is the revised Apple logo placement. While it may seem different at first glance, the logo will still be centred—just not on the entire phone. Instead, it will be aligned with the glass portion specifically. Both iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max look identical, except for their size difference. Another major difference in the design language of the iPhone 17 Pro series as compared to the iPhone 16 Pro series is the revamped camera module. As per the images shared by Majin Bu, Apple's traditional corner camera bump will be replaced with a full-width camera bar. If accurate, this would mark a significant visual shift for the Pro series. iPhone 17 Pro: What to expect In terms of camera upgrades, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to offer: A 48MP telephoto lens for enhanced zoom and image clarity Multi-camera video recording support An improved 24MP front camera for higher-quality selfies and video calls The Pro version is anticipated to debut alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 line-up, which could include a slimmed-down iPhone 17 Air model. According to a 9To5Mac report, Apple is also rumoured to be using copper materials for a new vapour chamber cooling system, replacing its current graphite set-up. This change is aimed at improving thermal efficiency through quicker and more effective heat dissipation.

Citizens Will Now Be Able To Self-Enumerate During Upcoming Census
New Delhi: A special dedicated web portal will be launched for self-enumeration during the upcoming Census, which will be available for both phases of the national enumeration exercise, officials said Monday. In the country's first digital census, enumerators will collect the data of citizens using mobile applications on their Android and Apple phones, they said. It will also be the first time in the country that citizens will get a chance to self-enumerate through a dedicated web portal which will be available for both the phases of Census - Houselisting and Housing Census (HLO) and Population Enumeration. "Digital Census initiative is a transformational step towards modernising the Census process. For the first time, technology will be used to collect data and send it electronically to the central server. This will result in early availability of Census data," an official said. Very stringent data security measures would be kept in place to ensure data security at the time of collection, transmission and storage. HLO will start from April 1, 2026 followed by phase 2 starting on February 1, 2027 in which Population Enumeration (PE) will be conducted. Castes of household members will be enumerated in the ensuing Census. Reference date for the Census 2027 will be 00:00 hrs of March 1, 2027 and 00:00 hrs of October 1, 2026 for Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir and snowbound non-synchronous areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It will be the 16th Census since start of the exercise in the country and 8th after Independence, for which a gazette notification was issued on June 16. The Registrar General of India has put in place a three-tier focused and need-based training for each phase--national trainer, master trainer and field trainer. The field trainers will train around 34 lakh enumerators and supervisors for the massive exercise. The RGI has told states and Union Territories to make any proposed changes in the boundaries of administrative units before December 31, when they will be considered final for the Census exercise. In a letter to all states and Union Territories, Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India Mritunjay Kumar Narayan had said that for the Census, all villages and towns are divided into uniform enumeration blocks and for each block, an enumerator is assigned to avoid any miss or repetition during the population count. According to norms, the Census can be conducted only three months after the freezing of boundary limits of administrative units such as districts, sub-districts, tehsils, talukas and police stations. Narayan had said that from April 1, 2026, the Houselisting Operation, the appointment of supervisors and enumerators and the work division among them will be done, and on February 1, 2027, the Census of the population will begin.
