Apple Logo Changes on iPhone 17 Pro: What It Means
Since the iPhone 11 was released in 2019, the Apple logo has been positioned in the center of the smartphone's back. This is not just a design choice but also serves a practical purpose. However, the logo placement is expected to change with the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro. As previous leaks have indicated, the iPhone 17 Pro is likely to feature a wide camera bar that occupies a large portion of the back of the device. This information comes from case manufacturers who receive the dimensions of new devices in advance to adapt their accessories accordingly. Currently, production lines are at a standstill. This is because a modified logo design on the iPhone 17 Pro could confuse users, as it has previously served as a guide for MagSafe accessories. The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to have a horizontal camera unit that spans the entire width of the upper back. This design necessitates repositioning the Apple logo, which is now set to be lower, centered between the edge of the device and the camera bar. At least, that's according to information from well-known leakers Majin Bu and Sonny Dickson. Majin Bu cites sources in the case manufacturing industry who have recently learned about the logo change in the iPhone 17 Pro. As a result, accessory production is largely on hold to find solutions for the new requirements. The logo shift on the iPhone 17 Pro also affects MagSafe accessories. Since it previously served as a visual guide for placing MagSafe accessories, the new position could cause confusion. This is particularly problematic for transparent iPhone cases, which make up a significant portion of the market. Previously, the logo was centered within the magnetic ring necessary for MagSafe compatibility. With the new placement, however, the ring would cover the logo on the iPhone 17 Pro. Therefore, accessory manufacturers and Apple are reportedly working on a solution where part of the ring is removed to make room for the logo. Apple's shifting the logo lower on the iPhone 17, most likely to align it with the MagSafe charging coil. — Sonny Dickson (@SonnyDickson) June 30, 2025 This would ensure continued compatibility with MagSafe accessories–even if the magnetic hold might be slightly weaker. The design is not yet final, and details regarding the logo position and MagSafe compatibility may change before the iPhone 17 Pro is released in the fall. Apple iPhone 17 Pro new MagSafe design leaked: Here is what you need to know
Apple iPhone 17 Pro design leaks: iPhone 17 Pro MagSafe redesign is capturing attention after fresh leaks revealed a subtle yet significant shift in Apple's accessory game. Reports highlight a new MagSafe magnet layout with a gap in the classic circular arrangement, allowing the iPhone Apple logo—now positioned lower—to remain visible when using transparent cases . This design tweak hints at a bold rear look that aligns with the rumoured horizontal camera bar stretching across the phone's back, blending form and function. While existing MagSafe accessories will stay compatible, this refresh could mean faster wireless charging and an updated aesthetic ready for a September 2025 launch. Stay tuned to find out why this subtle reimagining of MagSafe might redefine how we accessories and experience our next flagship iPhone. iPhone 17 Pro expected launch timeline Apple usually follows a consistent launch schedule, and the iPhone 17 base model is expected to be revealed between September 11-13, 2025. Pre-orders could begin immediately after the official unveiling, and if Apple sticks to its traditional timeline, the iPhone 17 series may go on sale around September 19, 2025. iPhone 17 Pro's design leaks New iPhone 17 Pro Magsafe MagnetsFull Article: Majin Bu, the leaker, posted a picture of purported MagSafe magnet arrays for third-party iPhone 17 Pro cases. The magnets on current iPhone models with MagSafe create a full circle, whereas the new design has a hole. According to Majin Bu and Sonny Dickson, the iPhone 17 Pro models' larger camera bump will cause the Apple logo on the back to be positioned lower than it is on current iPhone models. The new MagSafe design will guarantee the logo is fully visible when an updated MagSafe case protects the devices. This modification seems to be cosmetic, with no functional enhancement, as iPhone case manufacturer sources informed Majin Bu that current MagSafe accessories will continue to work with the iPhone 17 Pro versions. According to various rumours, with a future iteration of Apple's MagSafe Charger, the iPhone 17 Pro models may offer at least higher MagSafe charging speeds than earlier generations. This modification seems to be just cosmetic, with no functional enhancement, as iPhone case manufacturer sources informed Majin Bu that current MagSafe accessories will continue to work with the iPhone 17 Pro versions. With a future iteration of Apple's MagSafe Charger, the iPhone 17 Pro models may offer at least somewhat higher MagSafe charging speeds than earlier generations, according to various rumours. iPhone 17 Pro's other expected specifications iPhone 17 Pro Performance Apple's next-generation A19 Pro CPU, which promises improved efficiency and appreciable increases in overall speed and capability, is anticipated to power the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. However, the A18 chip—the same CPU currently available in the iPhone 16 series—will probably be retained in the regular iPhone 17 and the 17 Air. iPhone 17 Pro Camera In a research note dated August 2024, Analyst Jeff Pu forecasted that all four iPhone 17 series models will include a 24MP front-facing camera, which would significantly advance above the 12MP selfie camera found in the iPhone 16 lineup. In January 2024, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo subsequently reaffirmed this prediction. In October 2024, Pu also disclosed that a revamped horizontal triple-lens rear camera system, including a 48MP telephoto sensor with 3.5x optical zoom, is anticipated to be included in the iPhone 17 Pro. iPhone 17 Pro's expected price in India In 2025, Apple is anticipated to keep the base iPhone models priced at the same level. Early rumors suggest that the iPhone 17 may start at ₹89,900 when it launches in India, while the recently released iPhone 17 Air may retail for Rs 99,900. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to cost Rs 1,39,900 and Rs 1,64,900 on the top end of the price spectrum. There may be pricing changes closer to the formal announcement because these numbers are based on early leaks and have not yet been officially confirmed by Apple.

iPhone 17 Pro series to get repositioned Apple logo
Apple may be looking to change more than the camera islands on its iPhone 17 Pro series as leakster Majin Bu is now confident that the Apple logo on the back is getting repositioned. The logo on the 17 Pro series would be positioned lower, and Apple is apparently also changing the placement of its MagSafe charging coil, which will now go around the iconic bitten apple. This would be the first logo repositioning since the iPhone 11 series which ushered in the current logo position. There's no mention of the vanilla iPhone 17 or Air models getting the repositioned Apple logo for now. iPhone 17 Pro with its repositioned Apple logo and MagSafe charging coil placement The new report stems from sources in the case manufacturing business, and it was also confirmed by Sonny Dickson, who also shared a render of the repositioned logo and MagSafe charging coil. Apple's shifting the logo lower on the iPhone 17, most likely to align it with the MagSafe charging coil. — Sonny Dickson (@SonnyDickson) June 30, 2025 It remains to be seen if these new rumors will hold up. The physically larger camera island on the 17 Pro series could be the reason behind the repositioned logo and altered MagSafe charging coil. For now, we'd advise you to take these rumors with a few grains of salt. Source

Turning Recycling Into Art With Collectible Phones
Collectibile Phones' iPhone artwork What can you do with old smartphones? The practical answer is to recycle materials, recover rare earth metals and re-use parts wherever possible. There are other answers… with a bit of flair, these older phones can elevate those parts to art. Step forward, Sonny Dickson. He is a recognisable name in the tech industry, has a keen eye and ear on the supply chain and a reputation for picking up details on many smartphones ahead of their release. Now, he's looking at phones released years ago to bring a new angle to their design through Collectible Phones. I sat down with him following the launch to find out more. Something Old, Something New First of all, I ask why this and why now? "Well, personally, I believe it is because we need to remember & cherish the past ones with respect and honor. I intend to create a way for people to display these products in their homes and offices in an artistic manner." As the world moves towards physical content transforming into digital, the smartphone remains one of the physical constants. Very few of us use the same phone as we did twenty years ago, so those first phones are connected to the past. It's why projects such as The Mobile Phone Museum exist, to "safeguard this important collection of mobile technology heritage and help fund further growth'. It should come as no surprise that there is a desire to celebrate our personal history. This is the beginning of Dickson's project. 'Yes, this all started as a personal project. Working closely with my design team, we conceptualized unique ideas and moved forward with our vision. I had established connections within the used market to ensure that my approach would be better all around." The First Collectible Phone There's a certain emotional connection that many will have with the first-generation iPhone released in 2007. For some, it will be their first smartphone, for others, it will be the personal impact of the device. Perhaps the place of this iPhone in the history of smartphones will be enough of an allure. There's no doubt that the influence helped in the choice of making this the first product. "We decided on choosing the first iPhone because it was the very first groundbreaking device that impacted so many lives in the landscape of phone evolution." Collectibile Phones' iPhone artwork One aspect that was overlooked at the time was the actual design of the iPhone, which was perceived as evolutionary rather than revolutionary. The Design Museum's Design of the Year in 2007 was awarded not to the iPhone, but the XO-1 from the 'One Laptop Per Child' program. Director Deyan Sudjic acknowledged this a year later as a 'howling error,' and the original iPhone design is now lauded around the world. Sometimes art is not recognised immediately. Now, in 2025, it is, as Dickson highlights to me, "This art piece truly highlights the ingenuity of Steve Jobs with Apple on the First Generation iPhone." Neither will the project be limited to the iPhone. More phones are being considered to expand the history of the smartphone in popular culture. 'We will continue to expand our offerings and explore additional devices that would further contribute to the rich tapestry of history. Dickson reassures me. "We aimed to ensure a comprehensive selection that highlights the evolution of technology over time." What's Next For Collectible Phones? In the fast-moving world of consumer electronics, Collectible Phones hopes to build on emotional connections to the past. 'We envision a world where these cherished products become celebrated art pieces displayed in offices and homes worldwide."

The iPhone 17 line up comes into focus – and it seems Apple is thinking different this year
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It's almost May, which means the trees are getting greener, flowers are in bloom, the sun is (sometimes) shining, and the Apple rumour mill is reaching fever pitch with regard to the latest generation of iPhone. Yes, the iPhone 17 is now just four months away, and we've just been given our most comprehensive glimpse yet at all four models. New dummy units have surfaced online, revealing the shape and size of the iPhone 17 line up. These give strong credence to rumours that Apple is doing away with the 'Plus' iPhone this time around, instead replacing it with a brand new 'Air' model that could be its thinnest ever. But with only a single camera lens, it might not be shooting to the top of our best camera phones line up. Shared on X by Apple leaker Sonny Dickson (below), the dummies show one standard iPhone 17 that closely resembles the current iPhone 16. At the other end of the spectrum is the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max – both rumoured to feature a controversially large camera array. But it's the Air that suggests Apple is planning to take more heed of its famous 'Think Different' tagline in 2025. We've already heard that the iPhone 17 Air will be thin, but when seen next to the other models, it looks almost impossibly svelte. So it's a little surprising to see that the dummy still includes a SIM tray slot, something which has been rumoured to be getting nixed from that model. It also features the Camera Control button from the iPhone 16 line up, which too is surprising – although in this case it takes up the entire edge of the device. Also wildly different is the iPhone 17 Pro's rumoured giant camera array. Remember when we said the iPhone 15 Pro might take things too far with its rumoured larger camera bump back in the day? With the iPhone 17 Pro's taking up the entire width of the phone, it could make the iPhone 15 Pro camera look tiny. Of course, it's possible that enormous camera array could have its uses. Apple has form when it comes to turning unsightly design touches into 'features', such as the Dynamic Island – might we see a second display hit the back of the phone? Unlikely, but not impossible. Time will tell exactly what Apple has in store with the iPhone 17 line up, but with the iPhone 16 leaving us seriously underwhelmed, we're heartened to see the company apparently thinking differently from a design perspective.
