Danniella Westbrook confesses her biggest regret as she looks back on her troubled past
Danniella Westbrook, the ex-EastEnders actress known for her portrayal of Sam Mitchell, has lived a life that's been anything but dull, filled with dramatic twists and turns. Yet, she confesses there's only one aspect of her past she truly laments.
In an exclusive conversation with Daily Star in partnership with casino.org, the 51 year old star opened up about her journey, asserting she harbours no regrets about her career despite its rollercoaster nature since her days as a teenage sensation.
"Drugs will always be my biggest regret," she disclosed frankly. "But other than that, no. No career regrets as such."
This admission may come as a surprise to some followers, considering her notorious history of personal challenges. Westbrook, who has faced her demons in the public eye, including numerous rehab stints, maintains she doesn't believe in harbouring regrets.
She mused to the Daily Star: "I just think everything's a learning curve, isn't it? It's about how you deal with it personally and what you learn from it. If you learn from it, that is. I'm one of those people who has to learn from a mistake about 12 times before I can see the light. I'm like Dory, forgetting what's happened. But you know, I was like that. Now I listen. I'll listen to the advice given to me."
The television personality has been open about her cocaine addiction which began in her teens. Although Westbrook has experimented with heroin, she acknowledges that cocaine was her primary vice.
Her addiction notoriously ravaged her nasal septum and led to several rehabilitation programmes.
However, she's now committed to putting her turbulent history behind her whilst concentrating on her professional pursuits and fresh projects.
Danniella is setting her sights on what lies ahead and revealed her aspirations.
She disclosed: "I'd like to do more theatre. I think I'd like to play Mama Morton in Chicago. I'd like to do Blood Brothers. I'd like to do something completely different from Sam Mitchell. I don't know, maybe a gangster granny or something like that. I just like to do something completely different."

Danny Dyer and Rivals co-star reunite as they land new role ahead of season 2
EastEnders actor Danny Dyer is set to star in a brand new ITV game show alongside a very familiar Rivals co-star Danny Dyer has landed a new ITV game show with one of his Rivals co-stars. The former EastEnders star left fans gobsmacked with his performance in the Disney+ drama, which is set to return for its second series next year. The saucy series, based on Jilly Cooper's novel, charts the rivalry between David Tennant's Rupert Campbell-Black and Aidan Turner's Tony Baddingham at a telly station in the Cotswolds. In the role of endearing tech whizz Freddie Jones, who contemplates having an affair with Katherine Parkinson's Lizzie Vereker, Danny bagged the Best Supporting Actor gong at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards earlier this year. The star-studded cast also includes Alex Hassell from His Dark Materials, Victoria Smurfit from Once Upon A Time, Bella Maclean from Sex Education, and Luke Pasqualino from Skins, reports the Manchester Evening News. One face that fans were thrilled to see in the series was Emily Atack, who shot to fame on The Inbetweeners, playing aspiring presenter Sarah Stratton. Following her stint on the Channel 4 sitcom, the former I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here runner-up had primarily focused on theatre and panel shows. However, it was recently confirmed that Danny and Emily are poised to host a new game show titled Nobody's Fool. The strategic reality quiz, set to broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX in 2026, is billed as 'a unique reality event brimming with drama and deception where the fate of the contestants isn't decided by how smart they are, but how smart their fellow contestants reckon they are'. Ten contestants from across the UK will be selected to stay in a unique and mischievous Smart House, where they compete in challenges to convince others that they are more intelligent than they may actually be. To add to the group prize pot, the contestants will take part in daily individual quizzes. However, only the contestants themselves will know how well they have done, and they will decide what information to share with their competitors. An ITV spokesperson said: "Across the series, the players must determine who is the weakest amongst them and eliminate them. As each of the contestants sets out to prove their worth and value to the rest of the group, can the players suss out who is a genuine asset and who is simply faking in a bid to stay in the game?" "The show aims to exploit preconceived notions about intelligence, playing on stereotypes and snap judgments to create a cast of characters who will keep viewers guessing." Speaking of the series, Danny noted: "This is a blinder of a game show and unlike anything I've seen before. Emily and I had a brilliant time making it, and much like the audience at home will be, we were kept guessing right until the very end." Emily added "It's so exciting to be part of something this new and fresh. The chance to work with Danny again was a no brainer for me. We had such a laugh. Can't wait for everyone to watch, it's an absolute must see." Sue Murphy, ITV's Director of Factual Entertainment, and Kate Teckman, Head of Development and Commissioning Editor at ITV, labelled Nobody's Fool as an 'innovative reality/quiz crossover show'. "Danny and Emily are the perfect pairing to host this game of surprise and prejudice, that will no doubt have audiences on the edge of their seats," they hinted. The brand new series will air on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player next year (2026).

Rock the Crossbar brings musicians and footballers to West Lothian for a great cause
Jonathan and Michael Ward wanted to raise money for the Maggie's Centre in Edinburgh Two brothers brought celebrities from the music and footballing worlds together for an entertaining day of fundraising at two West Lothian venues. Brothers Jonathan and Michael Ward wanted to raise money for the Maggie's Centre in Edinburgh and came up with the idea of Rock the Crossbar – two linked events – a celebrity football tournament and a concert. They chose Maggie's in memory of 20-year-old son Jay Schumacher from Livingston who passed away almost a decade ago. Jay's parents, Morris and Claire, run Neo Recruitment, the recruitment partner of Jonathan's own business. Rock the Crossbar, a play on The Clash's song Rock the Casbah, kicked off with a football tournament at The Volley Park in Armadale featuring former Scotland players Jonathan said: 'We had a 12-team seven-a-side tournament during the day. It was brilliant, what a day. It was a mix of local businesses and celebrities, and four ex-Scotland international players. 'We had Charlie Mulgrew, Kris Boyd, Colin Hendry and Simon Donnelly all playing. Charlie Mulgrew is still an absolute player and took his team to the final. 'The others were good in spells. They were all tremendous and came along and got really involved. 'The Darkness also had a full team with three of the five band members playing. 'The football was brilliant, the stadium was packed out and it was played in great spirit.' The events are part of a year of fundraising which so far has raised £38,000, including £17,500 from Jonathan's company, Spring Solutions in Bathgate, which provides supply chain solutions for the aerospace industry. He continued: 'We are doing a whole series of events which started with my wife and I skydiving, and has involved the majority of our team doing a Tough Mudder as well as some individual events. 'A full year of fundraising will finish when my Michael and I take on the London Marathon next year.' Michael is involved in music management and was well placed to handle the logistics of the evening entertainment event, a concert at the Regal Theatre in Bathgate. 'Michael manages Ben Walker and organised the music side of it,' said Jonathan. 'We had the idea for a football tournament to follow on from the golf day we done, and my Michael just ran with it. He used a lot of his contacts in the music industry and together, though mostly him, and with the help of some very kind volunteers and businesses we pieced together this incredible event. 'The evening event was on a completely different level to anything I've seen before, the live jam would have been at home on any stage in the world. I couldn't believe this was in our hometown. 'On days like this there are no losers, hundreds of people coming together to have an excellent time, watching amazing entertainment and raising money for a beautiful cause. It was such an honour to play a part in bringing it together. 'We took the guys out from The Darkness for breakfast the next day and about 20 people asked Justin for photos. They had actually played in front of 10,000 people the day before.'

EastEnders gun shocker in early BBC iPlayer release as legend faces death
This article contains spoilers for tonight's EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer. Tonight's episode of EastEnders made clear that if George Knight (Colin Salmon) continues to seek answers over who supplied Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) with MDMA, he could find himself in grave danger. Or an actual grave. Viewers have seen Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) bolster his drug operation, although the base of the enterprise has moved uncomfortably close to home. Upon Okie's (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) suggestion to essentially cuckoo Kojo, Okie has occupied his flat and set up show from there. With Kojo visibly panicking at the fact that Okie had turned his flat into a trap house, Okie gave him an MDMA pill, hoping it would calm him. When George found Kojo in a bad way, he set out to find the source of the drugs and make them pay. Managing to keep copper Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) at bay following his threats to arrest Kojo for being in possession of class A drugs, George had Kojo's best friend, Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) firmly in his sights in tonight's episode. Confronting him in Harry's Barn, George grips up a guilty Harry, who firmly denied being behind the incident. Though Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) manages to use some of George's own words regarding daughter Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) and her own drug use to break things up. George leaves a shaken Harry with a violent squeeze of his injured hand and a threat. Returning to Phil Mitchell's (Steve McFadden), George tells Jack that Harry is the source of the drugs, but, without proof, Jack is unable to take action. More Trending Meanwhile, at Kojo's, Harry laments to Okie about what's happened with George. Clearly rattled and scared of retribution from Ravi, Okie lifts his shirt to reveal a concealed gun and makes it clear to Harry: if George becomes a problem, they'll have to remove him. Permanently.
