BrewDog is set to close 10 of its bars within days, blaming factors like rising costs and increased regulation in the industry.
The closure plans will see all the bars close on 26 July in locations across the country – including BrewDog's first ever venue in Aberdeen.
The Scottish craft brewing giant said it has made efforts to preserve the site, but it 'has simply not been possible to make these bars commercially viable'.
Chief executive James Taylor told staff the closures are part of a refresh of its estate, partly in response to 'rising costs, increased regulation, and economic pressures' on the sector.
He added that the brand will however still look to grow its bar business, with plans for more larger bars in 'destination' locations and to open smaller community bars.
A consultation process lasting at least 14 days will be launched following the closures, which will put close to 100 jobs at risk.
Where are the BrewDog bars that are closing?
Bars are being closed in major cities across the UK – including three in London.
Two bars will be closed in Scotland, while the other five affected are in England.
Click our interactive map below to see which 10 bars will be closing on 26 July:
How many BrewDog bars are there?
BrewDog has established a global presence with over 100 bars worldwide. In the UK, the company operates 71 bars, including 17 in Scotland, where it was founded in 2007.
These bars are spread across cities like London, Edinburgh, and Manchester. Scotland's 17 locations reflect the company's roots in Fraserburgh.
London is where most BrewDog bars are situated, with 21 currently open in the capital.
Beyond the UK, BrewDog's international footprint includes approximately 30-40 bars in markets like the US, Australia, Germany, and Japan.
The tally in the UK will drop to 61 bars after the closures on 26 July.
Who owns BrewDog?
BrewDog was founded in 2007 by James Watt and Martin Dickie in Fraserburgh, Scotland.
Watt, the public face of BrewDog, stepped down as CEO in May 2024 after 17 years. He transitioned to a non-executive role as 'captain and co-founder,' retaining his 21% stake. James Arrow, former COO, briefly took over as CEO.
In March 2025, Arrow also stepped down for personal reasons, and James Taylor, who was BrewDog's former CFO, became CEO. Taylor now runs the company alongside COO Lauren Carrol.
US private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners also holds a 22% stake in the company, while BrewDog's community of investors – known as Equity Punks – have invested in the company through crowdfunding initiatives and hold over 25% of the company's shares.

Vietnam Block B gas project advances with FSO contract

PTSC South East Asia (PTSC SEA), a joint venture (JV) between PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) and Yinson Production, has signed a lease and operate contract for a new floating storage and offloading (FSO) unit, set to bolster the Vietnam Block B gas project offshore. The contract, awarded by the Phu Quoc Petroleum Operating Company (PQPOC), is seen as a critical step for Vietnam's energy sector, enhancing the country's infrastructure. PQPOC, established by Vietnam National Industry – Energy Group (Petrovietnam), is responsible for the operation of the Vietnam Block B gas project, which includes Blocks B&48/95 and 52/97 in the south-west offshore region of Vietnam. The project, with an annual supply of 5.07 billion standard cubic metres of gas, aims to meet the growing energy needs of the south-west part of the country and provide economic benefits to the government, Petrovietnam and investors. Integral to the project's infrastructure, the new FSO will have a storage capacity of up to 350,000 barrels of condensate and is designed to be stationed for 25 years without the need for dry-docking. The turret-moored, double-hull FSO will be installed at a water depth of 80m. The firm period of the contract spans 14 years, with a potential extension of nine more years, bringing the total value to approximately $600m (VND15.72trn). The Vietnam Block B gas project's FSO is expected to achieve first condensate by the third quarter of 2027. Yinson CEO Flemming Guiducci Grønnegaard said: 'This contract reflects our strong partnership with PTSC and our long-standing commitment to Vietnam's offshore energy sector. 'The Block B FSO builds on our successful track record in the region and highlights our ability to deliver high-quality offshore assets that meet the specific needs of our clients. We are proud to support Vietnam's efforts to enhance energy security and are confident that this project will deliver long-term value for all stakeholders.' This new deal follows a previous award in November last year to PTSC AP, another JV between Yinson Production and PTSC, for the provision, charter, operation and maintenance of an FSO for Murphy Oil's Lac Da Vang project. Earlier this year, Yinson Production Offshore Holdings, a newly formed UK-based holding company of Yinson Production, signed a definitive agreement with a group of international investment firms. This agreement involves the issuance of $1bn ($749.89bn) in redeemable convertible preferred shares, along with 10% warrants, based on a post-money valuation of $3.7bn. "Vietnam Block B gas project advances with FSO contract" was originally created and published by Offshore Technology, a GlobalData owned brand. Consortium 'ready' to buy ailing Morecambe

London-based sports investment company Panjab Warriors have released a statement to say they are "ready, willing and able" to buy Morecambe. The Shrimps were suspended by the National League until 20 August on Monday over failing to comply with the league's rules. Panjab Warriors have been in talks with the club's owner Jason Whittingham for over a year and a deal had looked set to be concluded earlier this summer. They have now said in a joint-statement with minority shareholders, the Shrimps Trust and Lizzi Collinge MP that the National League is ready to sanction the deal and "immediately lift the suspension and embargo should it be agreed". BBC investigates takeover turmoil behind Morecambe suspension Morecambe suspended from the National League Morecambe owner 'not heard from' potential bidder As it stands, Morecambe's fixture away to Boston United on 9 August, their first home game against Brackley Town on 16 August, and the trip to Scunthorpe United on 19 August, will no longer take place as scheduled. Whittingham, who has been looking to sell the club since 2022, announced a new buyer, named as a consortium led by Jonny Cato, had been found earlier in July, but it remains unclear where that bid also stands. Whittingham said on Sunday he had "not heard from" Panjab Warriors in the past week and talks with Cato were ongoing. The Lancashire side, who were promoted to League One in 2021, were relegated from League Two last season - their second relegation in the past three seasons.
