Jevón Holland says Dolphins' social media shows he's being phased out
Jevón Holland thinks the Miami Dolphins are phasing him out and, according to the safety, the team's social media posts say it all.
'Transparently, seeing the Dolphins post things like the Valentine's Day stuff or like any kind of edit and things like that. You can see guys that may not be here next year or may be somewhere else are just not in it,' Holland said this week on his Breakin' House Rules podcast. 'I'm following them on Instagram, right? And I'm not in none of this [expletive] no more. I'm like, OK, they've kinda moved on.
'I get it. I understand the decision to do that because I would do the same if I was in the same position. But from my perspective, I'm just watching it like — I get it, but like, OK, this is the effects of being a free agent. Your team, or what was your team, starts to phase you out, in a way.'
On Valentine's Day, the Dolphins shared a post on Instagram that featured images of Jaylen Waddle, Zach Sieler, Calais Campbell, Jalen Ramsey, Tua Tagovailoa, Jonnu Smith, Jordyn Brooks, De'Von Achane, Aaron Brewer, Chop Robinson, Jaylen Wright, and Jason Sanders. The only player on that list not under contract for the 2025 season is Campbell.
Holland, who turns 25 in March, is set to become a free agent in a few weeks and early indications are that Miami intends to let the 2021 second-round pick hit the market.
Do the Dolphins social media managers already know that Holland will be in another jersey next month? Or were they simply playing it safe with memes that favor players they know aren't heading anywhere any time soon?
The answer is almost certainly the latter.
But Holland's thoughts about the team phasing him out certainly suggest he hasn't heard much to make him think the Dolphins are working to get him re-signed.

Jackie Robinson, Minnie Minoso mural vandalized in Miami
Police are investigating after vandals defaced a mural of baseball legends Jackie Robinson and Minnie Miñoso that is part of a collection of artwork honoring baseball players in Miami's Overtown neighborhood. The vandalism was discovered Sunday by a 7-year-old boy who asked his mother what the words and the Nazi symbols meant, community leaders said during a news conference. City workers have since partially covered the murals of Robinson and Miñoso, an Afro-Cuban player, with wooden boards. On Wednesday, Democratic U.S. Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick said in a statement that she is outraged by the 'vile act of hatred.' 'We must treat this for what it is: a hate crime meant to instill fear and division. But we will not be intimidated. We will respond with unity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to truth, justice, and the preservation of our history,' she said. Robinson broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball in 1947 when he became the first black player, signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Miñoso became the league's first Afro-Latino player and the first black player for the Chicago White Sox. The murals have been displayed in the park since 2011 and are a collaboration between artists Kyle Holbrook and Kadir Nelson and various community groups. Police have yet to make any arrests for the vandalism. 'This was more than a defaced mural — it was an attempt to silence our story,' said Dr. Saliha Nelson, CEO of Urgent, Inc. 'But we will not be erased. We will restore this mural and celebrate this space as a symbol of agency, pride, and excellence.'

Maroons guns of past help Dolphins spine shine: Katoa
Dolphins star half Isaiya Katoa is a true NSW Blue in waiting, but he has credited video sessions watching one of Queensland's greatest spine combinations for the dazzling attack of his side. The Dolphins have scored a combined 100 points in their past two matches, with a record-breaking 56-6 win over St George Illawarra on Friday night following a 44-8 demolition of competition leaders Canterbury before their bye. "We have a spine meeting where our nine, six, seven and one come together," Katoa said after his man-of-the-match display against the Dragons. "Some of the clips we look at are Cameron Smith, JT (Johnathan Thurston), Cooper Cronk and Billy Slater all connecting (for the Maroons). "The more they connected the more success their team had. We are trying to build that into our own games and still try to play to our individual strengths. It is a work in progress for us." Built on steely defence, the past two Dolphins wins have also featured the creative wares of halves Kodi Nikorima and Katoa at their best. Dazzling fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow was on Origin duties for the Canterbury clash, but scored a try double against the Dragons. With the speed and strike they have, you need to keep giving them the footy." Once again it is the old Maroons halves pairing that Katoa has learned so much from. "The two that come to mind are Cooper Cronk and JT, just the way they were always talking to each other, playing both sides of the field and mixing it up at times," Katoa said. "It is something me and Kodi base our game off." The Dolphins are now in seventh position on the ladder and play North Queensland away next Saturday night.
