It's funny how Stray Cats go about choosing who they feel deserves the blessing of their presence. Truly, we don't decide, they do. If you're among the lucky few with a random surprise visitor on your stoop one day, congrats — you can thank the cat distribution system for your new fur child!
One Stray Cat recently made his decision, and it's final. Described as a "ridiculously attractive" cat who shows up "like he owns the place," this is one fine feline on a mission to steal hearts and take names!
It's too bad @allaboutwhiskers hasn't yet given the kitty a name or revealed much else about the stray boy because I'm dying to know more. Where did he come from? Why is he so devilishly handsome (and seems to know it)?
Whatever the circumstances, any pet choosing you is the greatest day ever. You have to be pretty special for a Stray Cat to do that because they're so picky about who they allow in their world. This cutie-pie must've done his research and noticed there are five happy fur children in the house, so it must be a good one.The fact that this stunner claims the porch as his, and without apology, just goes to show the impressive confidence he has going for him. Like he didn't ask to be part of the family, but told them, which wouldn't surprise me one bit.
The resident pets, Simon, Tokyo, Londyn, Parys, Beau, and a randomly rescued squirrel, have already reaped the benefits of how much love is in this home. The two dogs and three cats follow Mom everywhere because they love her so much.
Those quiet moments, like when she sat on the floor near the window, drew them all near. That kind of reaction is exactly why the pretty kitty decided this is exactly where he wants to be, and thankfully, Mom is all for it!
Yes, Stray Cats Choose Their People
In terms of "stuff only cats do," a stray showing up on your doorstep means they did in fact notice you, and chose you to care for them or feed them. Even the independent and feral kitties need love and affection in their lives, so it really is a gift when they visit.
Assuming they don't have pet parents worried sick about where they've been, I say give them what they came for: some delicious food, a few yummy treats, and your love, however long they decide to stay.

Doodle 'Disguises' Herself as a Bath Mat and the Most Unfortunate Chaos Ensues

Doodle 'Disguises' Herself as a Bath Mat and the Most Unfortunate Chaos Ensues originally appeared on Parade Pets. This Doodle dog didn't just blend in; she vanished. Like, full-on disappeared into the bath mat like it was her mission. She's black, the mat's black, and the only giveaway is when her dog mom gently nudges her with a foot like, "Hey, you alive or… ?"Spoiler: She's fine. Just chilling. Apparently, this isn't her first vanishing act, either. Her mom claims she's tripped over her more than once because she becomes one with the rug, like some kind of fluffy bathroom ninja. The best part? Then her Doodle dog acts all offended that her mom didn't see her there. The dedication to the disguise? Iconic. The consequences? Hilarious. The hilarious video was shared on the TikTok account @_trixxstar, and so many people in the comments didn't even see her at first! "Not me staring at the cabinet," one person said. "Omggg, I was looking in the cabinet ahead thinking a hamster or something was going to pop out," another person person added, "Change the rug color. Immediately. That's not that baby's fault you bought the rug." My favorite part is how she just sits there until her mom nudges her. My giant Maine Coon doesn't blend in with things, but he will stretch out across doorways, so you basically have to step OVER him to get anywhere. That's such a cat thing to do! Another person said, "Whole time I'm staring at the clothes basket." Maybe This Dog Needs a Really Bright Collar? Honestly, this Doodle dog might need to start wearing a neon construction vest or one of those blinking bike lights, because her camouflage game is too strong. Like girl, we get it—you are the mat. But maybe toss on a hot pink collar or a tiny flag that says, 'DO NOT STEP HERE.' At this point, her mom needs night-vision goggles just to safely brush her teeth. We're all for a good hide-and-nap session, but not if it ends in a cartoon-style trip and tumble. Someone get this sneaky queen a visibility upgrade before the bath mat strikes again. 🐶SIGN UP to get 'pawsitivity' delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾 Doodle 'Disguises' Herself as a Bath Mat and the Most Unfortunate Chaos Ensues first appeared on Parade Pets on Aug 8, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Aug 8, 2025, where it first appeared. Claire's, We Hardly Knew Ye: 5 Vogue Staffers on Their Memories of the Tween Piercing Paradise

I've shed many tears in Claire's Accessories over the years (specifically, the Upper West Side one on 82nd and Broadway, and even more specifically, because my mom wouldn't let me get a cartilage earring when I was 12), but nothing compares to the pain of knowing that this beloved haven for tweens with allowance money burning a hole in their pockets and a passion for trinkets is bankrupt, yet again. While the majority of Claire's locations in the United States and the rest of North America will remain open as the company 'continues to explore all strategic alternatives,' according to a statement released on Wednesday, it's hard not to feel like the writing is on the wall for this once-iconic chain, where so many of us got pierced for the first time by bored 19-year-olds with unsteady hands, dished about crushes by the racks of charm anklets, and had epic fights with our parents when they wouldn't spend their hard-earned money to buy us said charm anklets (just me?). Below, find 5 Vogue staffers' reminiscences about the store that taught us how to accessorize: 'When I was young and still figuring myself out, I would pass by Claire's in our local mall and secretly admire all of the frilly little pink things in there. I knew it was not 'for boys,' yet I felt a draw to the store. I wanted to wear the cute bows and little star-shaped earrings and cheap jelly bracelets. It was aspirational.' —Christian Allaire, senior fashion and style writer 'Call it longing or morbid fascination, but I probably spent hours of my young life lingering outside of the Claire's at my local mall, watching people get their ears pierced by barely qualified 20-somethings armed with a piercing gun. After I (finally!) was allowed to get my ears pierced in the third grade, much of my allowance went to hideous plastic earrings. The most egregious? A pair of sparkly frogs holding soccer balls, which my mother warned me was 'not a good investment.' I beg to differ: a few years ago, she found a pair on eBay for $8 and bought them for me. Consider them an heirloom in the making!' —Hannah Jackson, fashion writer 'I have gotten five piercings at Claire's—four lobe piercings and one cartilage. Now, everyone warned me before I got my cartilage pierced at the age of 15 NOT to get my cartilage pierced with a gun, but I was terrified of needles and really wanted a cartilage piercing. The only people willing to do it with a piercing gun were the brave employees at Claire's. Unfortunately, the piercing only lasted a year (longer than I expected, honestly), it kept getting infected, and I had a weird bump on the top of my ear for a few months after I took my piercing out because of the impact of the gun. Never again! Anyway, RIP Claire's!' —Irene Kim, production and editorial associate

Ducks Entrust Cat as Their 'Fearless Leader' and It Couldn't Be More Perfect

Ducks Entrust Cat as Their 'Fearless Leader' and It Couldn't Be More Perfect originally appeared on Parade Pets. Cats are born with an impressive level of self-confidence, tenacity, and determination that doesn't exist in other species. If I could come back as anything, it would definitely be a cat, if only for their effortless prowess that I could never pull off! This is why, in houses with multiple pets, felines have no qualms about taking the leading role—and they're pretty great at it. The perfect example comes from a recent video that shows a cat who, without hesitation, stepped up to care for and take charge of a gang of young ducks. She's not the only one helping to raise these cuties, but she's the one they follow everywhere. The term "one lucky duck" feels fitting here, but for the cat! "100% trust in their fearless leader" is what the caption reads, and it's spot-on. The slow saunter through the yard is giving Queen Bee energy all day! The kitty in charge has been a fan of the ducklings as long as they've been around, which is just a few weeks. They're still learning the ropes on the homestead, but imprinting on the cat is just too adorable for words!"Based on the cat's genetics, those are clearly her kids," one person joked in the comments. "Ducks: 'She knows what she's doing,'" another wrote. "What in The Aristocats sequel is happening here?" another added. And while some had a good laugh wondering if the Corgwas the one filming the scene, many others simply said, "It's the Corgi spectating from a distance for me, honestly," and same, girl, same. The now-viral video garnered thousands of other comments from those in awe, but there's more where that came from. The ducks are surrounded by love, including the cat, other cats, the Corgi, and other ducks, with many clips giving more insight into the sweet relationships between them all. Cats Are Natural Born Leaders It's been said there are five distinct cat personality categories that each feline falls into. Whether they're a "human, inquisitive, hunter, cantankerous, or cat's cat," they all share the same basic traits that make them bold and fearless leaders. Many felines have a sprinkle of all those categories, because why choose?! I think those ducks really are lucky. They have a confident baddie at the helm, and if I know kitties, there's no way she's going to fail the most important mission of her life: teaching the ducklings how to be a cat! 🐶🐾🐾 Ducks Entrust Cat as Their 'Fearless Leader' and It Couldn't Be More Perfect first appeared on Parade Pets on Aug 8, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Aug 8, 2025, where it first appeared.
