Huawei Cloud hosts Developer Conference 2025 to empower local talent
The conference highlighted the added value Huawei Cloud brings to the local developer and startup ecosystems. It showcased Huawei's comprehensive, AI-powered cloud services and its suite of cloud-native development tools. Serving as a strategic platform for knowledge exchange, the event reinforced Huawei's commitment to building a robust digital ecosystem and enabling technical talent in alignment with Saudi Arabia's ambitious digital transformation agenda.
A key focus of the event was hands-on empowerment through specialized training programs, advanced development tools, and globally recognized professional certifications. Saudi developers now have direct access to Huawei's global cloud initiatives, including the Huawei Cloud Developer Program, the Huawei Cloud Startup Program, and the Huawei Cloud Certified Developer for AI. These initiatives not only provide technical training but also offer integrated business support and international certifications — enabling developers to build strong career paths, scale their innovations, and contribute to Saudi Arabia's growing cloud ecosystem.
During the event, Huawei Cloud reaffirmed its support for the Kingdom's expanding developer community. The company currently offers more than 90 cloud services, with plans to expand to more than 200 services through three availability zones in the Riyadh region. Huawei continues to invest in infrastructure, training, and tooling to accelerate the growth of Saudi Arabia's cloud landscape.
Notably, Huawei Cloud has received 'Class C' certification — the highest cloud classification awarded by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission — demonstrating the platform's compliance with strict local and international standards for security, performance, and reliability.
The conference also featured highlights of Huawei's latest AI infrastructure innovations. Attendees were introduced to ModelArts, Huawei's cutting-edge AI development platform that significantly reduces the time and complexity of deploying AI solutions — from months to just days.

Where We Are Going Today: Kuuru in Riyadh
Kuuru, an ambitious Saudi concept from Leylaty Group and Peru's MCK Hospitality, delivers on its promise of a vibrant fusion of Peruvian passion and Japanese precision. The experience begins upon entry. The interior is undeniably sophisticated, radiating a chic, fine-dining ambiance perfect for a special culinary journey. Visiting the Riyadh branch located in the King Abdullah Financial District, the service was impeccable, significantly elevating the evening. Our server was a knowledgeable guide, tailoring recommendations and orchestrating a seamless flow of dishes. The culinary adventure started strong. The Kuuru ceviche was a standout, incredibly fresh and complex. Be advised: Its vibrant acidity is boldly and intensely sour, a hallmark purists adore but some palates might find assertive. The hotate aburi offered rich, creamy scallop perfection. The tiradito hotate, featuring luxurious Hokkaido scallops and truffle, delivered exquisite flavor, though a touch more textural contrast (perhaps a crisp element) would have elevated its otherwise soft composition. The Nikkei-style nigiri maintained excellence. The nakka truffle (salmon belly) was beautifully balanced and simple, while the wagyu a lo pobre with the quail egg added to the umami experience. The niku karashi main course featured a succulent grilled ribeye, perfectly complemented by Nikkei chimichurri and Japanese sweet mustard atop smooth potato puree. Dessert provided a satisfying finale. The Lima chocoreto combined moist chocolate cake with Peruvian manjar (dulce de leche), ganache, and honeycomb — rich yet not cloying. The signature Aka sour cocktail proved a vibrant companion throughout but may have been overpowering on the palate, especially with the already sour element to the dishes I ordered. My verdict is that Kuuru offers a compelling, multisensory Nikkei experience within Riyadh's upscale dining scene. While the ceviche's sourness is authentic and the tiradito hotate could benefit from added texture, these are minor notes in an otherwise superb symphony. Backed by stellar service, a distinctive menu, and an elegant setting, Kuuru is a must-visit destination for adventurous food lovers seeking memorable fusion.

Abdullah Hashim secures distribution deal with Mikasa
Abdullah Hashim Company Limited has announced an exclusive distribution partnership with Mikasa Corporation, a Japanese manufacturer of high-performance light construction equipment. The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony at AHCL's headquarters in Jeddah, marking a significant milestone for Saudi Arabia's construction industry. The signing ceremony was attended by Atsushi Suzuki, assistant manager, Mikasa Corporation; Khalid Abushaban, CEO, AHCL Group; Azizurrab, general manager, Machinery Division, AHCL; Faisal Bin Zager, general manager of human resources, AHCL Group; and Ayman Al-Omar, chief financial officer, AHCL Group. As Mikasa's exclusive Saudi distributor, AHCL will deliver the brand's renowned vibratory plate compactors, rammers, and concrete vibrators — equipment trusted for durability and innovation in global infrastructure projects. This partnership reinforces AHCL's commitment to advancing Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals by equipping local contractors with cutting-edge Japanese technology. 'This collaboration aligns with our mission to provide world-class machinery solutions. Mikasa's precision engineering complements our portfolio, enabling us to better serve Saudi Arabia's booming construction sector,' said Azizurrab. AHCL will begin nationwide distribution of the equipment in Q4 2025, backed by its established service network and trained Saudi technicians.
